Hey LilJay no problem,

The platform [Sollywood TV and Sollars and Sense UIA] will be built on top of Bitshare's DAC/Wallet. We will be using Bitshares as a back end. So both Content Creators and Consumers who use the platform through their iPhones or Android devices will essentially be using Bitshares. And this is the Millennial generation we will be targeting (18-34 year old Male/Female). A highly sought after market of individuals. If Bitshares can capture this demographic with a killer application they actually want to use we win plain and simple.

My argument has always been the way to do that is through changing the content pricing system in Hollywood which consumers Hate and loathe in America (and Millennials are not adopting at all). Everyone is waiting for a better solution. Its a $200+ Billion industry just waiting to be disrupted like the Taxi system was waiting to be disrupted before Uber came along. That is what Part 1 is explaining. And just like Uber I am saying the Uber of the Hollywood and Cable Industry is our product.

Remember Bitcoin's market cap is $3-5 Billion with no clear utility for its technology in sight. The Content Distribution industry is $200+ Billion. Now imagine its disruptor being built on top of Bitshares. Cha-ching! There is plenty of room for growth and disruption in this industry and again Sollars and $ense UIA is going to be the key. Hope that clears up the confusion. If not let me know. Thanks!

So you are going to sell content to consumers and bitshares or bitassets or UIA's will be the currency?  Bitshares makes money through transaction fees?

So people deposit usd to get access to content, this usd is then converted to bitUSD or some other bitasset and transferred to the creator.  This way the creator doesn't have to deal with a bank... they can distribute to anyone.  Does this sound correct?

Excellent! Yes Lil Jay its very close with very small tweaks. The user deposits USD with us ( and payment processor) and gets the UIA in return. They then use this UIA to interact with Content Creators and Content.

This way neither the User or the Content Creator deals with the Banks or any other middle man that would want a piece of any transaction should it have been in USD. Payment processors and banks are VERY SERIOUS about getting a piece of transactions that happen in USD. This is even at price points below a penny. So we do away with all that Red tape.

Once content creators make enough of our UIA they can exchange it back to USD or BitUSD. Or they can keep it in the system and use it for Sollar ads to promote their content and potentially rack up more audience members  ;D It is up to them.

Remember this system works for all content creators from Student Filmmakers all the way up to Hollywood Big Wigs. That is what is revolutionary in my humble opinion. Hope this makes $ense. Thanks for the thoughtful question.

Have you considered using MUSE?

Sorry for the off-topic. Is Poloniex considering to add MUSE?

Yes they are. But it may take some time.

the previous version looks like it was 0.9.1, therefore the backup was produced from that version.

I attempted to restore the backup in 0.9.3 by;

selecting file
selecting import wallet
selecting the backup file
answering yes to replacing the existing wallet
typing the password

I haven't been able to make any transactions since 0.9.1 so all I need is to be able to import all my keys to 2.0.......am i right in thinking i still need to produce a new backup file from within the 0.9.3 client?

If you are installing 0.9.3 bts over 0.9.1 bts, you need not restore any backup since 0.9.3 is compatible with 0.9.1 and it can use the older wallet version.  Did you try going into the wallet after upgrading to 0.9.3?  If your accounts and balances are there, you can export your keys out (http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/migration/howto-exporting-wallet.html and using the wallet console) to be imported into a bts2 web wallet (http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/migration/howto-importing-wallet.html).

I've run 0.9.3 but the application won't start.  Are there some folders i need to remove before reinstalling 0.9.3 to give it a better chance?  Thank you.

I'm on windows 7 64bit

The startup takes awhile, especially if you have low RAM. How much RAM do you have?

4 GB  3.47 GB is useable and physical available is about 1.9 GB

I let it run for a few hours but there was no system activity so i figured it had simply stalled....

I did not uninstall any previous versions before instaling and running 0.9.3.  Could that be part of the issue?

Thanks very much cube

There is probably lack of a seed node.  You can try download the bts1 blockchain and replace your current empty one.  So instead of syncing with seed nodes and other peer nodes, you copy over the entire blockchain.

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,18885.msg243155.html#msg243155

Open the Windows Explorer and go to %appdata%\Bitshares

Quit bts0.9.3 if you are running it.  Extract all the files into this folder.  Run the bts0.9.3 client and do a 'scan' at the console.

Ok I followed the instructions and this time made it to the login screen.....so brilliant thank you.

However, when i attempted to import my wallet backup .json file,  the client produces an error message,;

Failed to restore wallet backup.  Your original wallet has been resored. Error: boost::filesystem::remove: The directory is not empty: "C:/Users/Ben Mason/AppData/Roaming/BitShares\Wallets\default" (13)

I'm sure my password and backup file are correct.  Wow this is trick and nerve-jangling for someone as none techi as me!  ;D

A bit more information would help.

Before you installed 0.9.3 bts client, did you have an earlier version of bts client installed?  What was the version?

How did you produce the backup.json file? What was the wallet version that you used to produce the backup.json file?  How did you restore the backup.json file (describe step-by-step)?

I think "AdamBLevine's Tokenly Ecosystem integration" should be re-categorised as 'Integration with 3rd party" and status is 'Pending a worker proposal'.

Btc38 already trades BTS2

Then MUSE shouldn't be that big of a deal. We hope. :)

Synchronising the old bts1 wallet has always been a big problem. Let's give them some time to settle down.

I like the idea of lowering the SQP which tends to help the shorters, and which in turn provides liquidity.  I like to hear the pros and cons from the players (long and short) and other stakeholders.

@bytemaster  @bitcrab @tonyk  @Xeldal  @maqifrnswa @mindphlux   your input are appreciated.

Maybe someone else can jump in and help him recover his funds

Maybe he should pay you to get the full service.

poloniex replied. It is the fastest to response.

"It might be a few days before they're available. We were told we would be warned about the launch, but unfortunately there was no communication after that. "

Thumbs up!

Any movement from Poloniex?

They are getting up their old bts wallet and syncing.  It may take awhile.

Cube:
I thought about a phone help line. There I would take the call and forward it through a chat to knowledgable people. Imagine this to be the first fun help line compared to traditional ones.
I think that it would be good to give the caller a good feeling by someone who has no stress, maybe leave his email and later get an answer email.

Yes, it can be a phone help line, chat help line or even a ticket-based help.  You can forward to someone who can do the job and you can join in and learn the skill while this someone is helping the user.  Soon, you would be able to perform the help on your own.

testz just brought up (https://github.com/wildbunny/metaexchange) and it seems the library is for bts 0.9.3.  How about putting up the library for bts2?

Warren Buffet is already rich. Poor people should not invest like him if they want to ever get rich.

Getting rich requires you take big risks. Odds are you'll never get rich if you don't risk your life savings trying.

I like Warren Buffet's investment approach too.  However, contrary to common belief, Buffet does not take "big" risks.  In fact, he is a very careful man who takes well-researched and well-calculated risk for most of his investment decisions.

"The basic ideas of investing are to look at stocks as business, use the market's fluctuations to your advantage, and seek a margin of safety. That's what Ben Graham taught us. A hundred years from now they will still be the cornerstones of investing.   -- Warren Buffett"

With such a successful launch of Graphene and openledger.
They deserve more laid back post

I think my request above is more reasonable. Progress is being made, I think small updates every few days would keep investors happy.
