Title: Slow pybitshares calls

Wondering if it's normal for calls such as getbalance to take over 8 seconds to execute while connected to a <80ms node.
Connecting to BitShares via keys option (WIF)

I have scrypt and secp256k1 installed. Ubuntu 18.04, python3
