Title: get coindesk to write articles on bitshares
Post by: Akado on August 10, 2014, 07:20:54 pm
As you know, coindesk is one of the most famous places to get news from bitcoin and the crypto world. does anyone know how they publish their articles? if we can just contact them and ask them to, if we can make one and send it to them so they can publish it, etc?

I think with this new snapshot it would be cool if they did an article based on Bitshares. They could do a review of what it is, what it accomplished so far (released dacs) and spread the news about the upcoming snapshot

I suggest you write coindesk a brief letter and ask them how it happens, this is a bump as well if anyone has more information.

Coindesk may be interested in publishing Dan's latest post

+5% it's a quality piece wouldn't be suprised to see it pop up in a few places.

I'll also be surprised if Coindesk will be able to ignore the launch of BitAssets.

I've been planning to do this as well, just getting sidetracked by life.

I encourage you to contact them and see what you can do.

They wrote one around this time last year. Perhaps time for a followup.

done! mentioned they could do a review on bitshares, talk about the incoming dual snapshot and mentioned we have a 'overstock to cryptostock' article that would be interesting to read. Forgot to mention the Kevin Harrington thing but if they contact me i'll be sure to mention that too. Any other things you would like to mention? Or if someone could do a well written letter would be nice. Mine was pretty simple just mentioning those points

edit: completely forgot about bitsharesX -.- should also mention about its release and the fact its in the top 10 marketcap wise

the bitshares concept is difficult to explain in a short article. It might be best to focus on one concept, and then have a "bitshares is also planning..." section at the end. I'd focus on bitsharesx only, once it is released and functional. Otherwise it's a "throw away" article about just another alt-coin. Until there is something concrete, people won't pay that much attention. At the end, say "in addition to getting a working exchange, the bitshares community is developing DACs to provide DNS, lotto, etc., services."
