Some of us had hopes of being delegates on the live network. If we get too late of a start thats not going to happen with out massive reserves. I don't care if the gui is in chinese,(could always just swap out the htdocs) but will the command line commands still work? Is there anyone that could give us english updates on where the official source code can be procured, and what the launch schedule is?No worries. The person doing the BTSX clone from our XT prototype (which is already in English) has assured me that he intends to release English and Chinese versions concurrently. They would be crazy to do otherwise. The English command lines will also remain available. Actually I feel like this doesn't answer the question. If I can't read Chinese, how am I supposed to know when the release happens? I understand there will be an English version of the platform launched but I was hoping to be a delegate and at the moment the way the registration fees exponentially increase I have a matter of hours to get in on the delegate party. Having to keep track of a Chinese website is going to severely limit that possibility. Plus this still doesn't tell us anything about dacsunlimitted. Who are they? How can we trust them? Even when I google translate the website there seemingly is almost no meaningful information. Isn't there anyone else nervous about this?Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkSeveral well-known members of our community wanted to hitch their careers to the BitShares X freight train and work on the operational side of BTSX and other DACs. So they have gone off to form their own DAC company in a jurisdiction where there is more freedom to do so. They have also recruited some great new talent. They are currently working toward a dual Chinese/English launch that is fair to both hemispheres and involves multiple exchanges.Meanwhile, as we have long indicated, we intend to focus on R&D, toolkit development, and promoting a decentralized industry -- while relying on independent developers to customize, launch and operate all DACs. We are forging ahead with new toolkit features that may or may not be included in the first BTSX launch, at their discretion. Naturally, we were delighted to see such a company emerge to launch BitShares X. The fact that it involved people we know and trust made it a no-brainer perfect solution that met everybody's needs. As an independent developer honoring the BitShares Social Consensus, they are entitled to our full-scale support as an incubator of DAC incubators. As for who the specific individuals are. That's for them to announce when they are ready to do so.That does help me feel better. But my question is, there will be links to download everything here and on BitShares.org right? Will they have a separate github location or just binaries? How much notice will we get on the final release date and time? There was mention before of two weeks notice. I feel like that really needs to be the case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From the newsletter:>>DACs Unlimited (dacsunlimited.com) will release BitShares X.Very appropriate site http://dacsunlimited.com/, imho, a lot of promise and ... no content. Just like an exchange, with no trades on it.

I feel useless!Don't overact, you are already doing so much and your efforts are appreciated from all of us, you don't need to prove it every single minute! After all it was a great surprise, and we welcome such surprises I am sure I3 need as right know more on the dry run testings instead "taking" our time on proof reads Sorry about that. Having the community proof-read it is my preferred approach too. I had to trade that off against a desire to release it on the Fourth of July anniversary date and just ran out of time. That explains alot ..@cass: not nesessary need to use the pad .. a pdf would be enough .. just that minor mistakes (punctuation, urls) can be tripple checked .. Anyway .. the newsletter came as a surprise

Quote from: itnom on July 06, 2014, 03:47:04 pmWhohoooo made it indirectly into the July newsletter Best newsletter so far. I think the graph comparing Github activity of the Bitshares toolkit to Ethereum was great. For potential investors and stakeholders such substantive comparisons are much more important than high level overviews. If you guys think a more professional newsletter design would be beneficial to the community let me know! Always looking to get the message across to more people.Thx for your help itnom. I'm on newsletter theme design currently

Quote from: Empirical1 on July 06, 2014, 04:13:42 pmAgain loved the newsletter But just wondering if you are able to give any clarity on when we will know the specific PTS allocations for those companies. Obviously the Key ones BitShares Lotto/.p2p/Music will form the base for valuing BitShares-PTS for the next months...So whatever you value their combined starting CAP at, for example $100 Million, - the difference between PTS getting the minimum of 10%, compared to say 45% on the high side is pretty dramatic in terms of investors trying to value PTS without the information I3 &/or the developers may have. So if we can get any added clarity/ballpark figures but not commitments etc. with where you and those developers thinking is at as you move forward it can really help imo. Each developer has to make that call sometime before their snapshot. Many want to wait and interact with the community as long as possible before committing - since new considerations seem to come up every day.You make a great point about PTS value depending on knowing, but individual developers are more concerned about getting their mix right than day-to-day PTS values.Assume 10% and then be pleasantly surprised if a developer gives us more?

Quote from: liondani on July 06, 2014, 01:08:58 pmSomething I don't liked is the intentions to use for the original BitSharesX the symbol BTSXI don't like it because it is 4 letter's (to much to remember)I thing much better is 3 letter's (professional, more respectfull, easier)something like BSX (from the capitals of BitSharesX)or BTX, XBS, etc...is to late for a pool post to vote about that? The thinking is that currencies use three letters (USD, EUR, etc.) while businesses have begun to use four (APPL, MSFT, etc).
