How do the rest from outside get the book? We don't have Amazon.
Ask me again on the 10th of January and I will have an answer for you.   :)

I am very pleased to announce 2 marketing initiatives are being released today… and you can win 200 bitUSD just by supporting them.

www.BitShares.TV
, hosted by Max Wright, is a weekly internet show dedicated to keeping you up-to-date with the world of BitShares. The first 3 episodes are online and ready for you to watch right now.

Each episode is designed to give insight to a particular aspect of the BitShares eco system. How BitShares can improve the world we contract, interact, and do business with.

BitShares.TV gives you the inside scoop on the latest developments and allows you to meet the people behind BitShares, from core developers to marketing professionals.

Because different aspects of Bitshares appeal to different folks, Bitshares.TV is a great tool to share with your friends to help them get as excited about BitShares as we are.

And once a BitShares.TV episode sparks a light bulb in someones mind, they are more likely to share it, and get involved… and that is exactly what we want.  I hope the TV show will spark enough interest that they understand and get involved in BitShares.

And that is where BitShares 101 comes in.

BitShares 101 is the first book ever written dedicated entirely to understanding BitShares.

I authored the book and the feedback I have recieved suggests the book does an excellent job of taking the advanced concepts of BitShares and explaining them in an easy-to-understand way. Even some of the BitShares faithful who received advanced copies of the book were impressed by what they learned, commenting on how easily understandable BitShares becomes.

Today, for the first time ever, you can get your own copy of, Bitshares 101: A Guidebook on How To Profit From the Next Generation of Bitcoin, Crypto Currencies and Decentralized Businesses for just $0.99

But I really want this book to go number 1 in its category. And that means lots of sales over the next 3 days.

So I decided to motivate you all a little further by giving you the chance to win 200 bitUSD by supporting the book.

Here is how:

Once you buy the book for $0.99 cents, share it on Facebook and/or Twitter that you bought the book with the hashtag: #Bitshares101. Be sure you post a link to the book on Amazon. Feel free to use your own affiliate code if you wish.  From those posts, I will pick one at random and send them 100 bitUSD.  It's that easy.

For another chance to win $100 in BitUSD, just leave us an honest review on Amazon’s Kindle after you read the book. This will really help drive sales, especially if those comments have keywords in them like bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency.

So for your chance to win $200 in BitUSD just buy the book for $0.99, review it, and post a link to the book on Facebook/Twitter with the hashtag: #Bitshares101…

I will randomly select two winners, and notify everyone via email and this forum who won.

You can grab your copy here.

I look forward to reading your reviews and getting your feedback.

Thanks,
Max

I also wanted to mention that both of these marketing initiatives were a team effort.

A kind thank you to proof readers Stan, Gentso1, DonkeyPong, and Matador123
HPEnvy for donating $100 for Fiverr tasks and word press plugins,
Murderistic for tech and marketing support,
And most of all a very big thank you to AbellJefrry for lots of work on building sites and graphics.  He put in a metric shitload of effort and it is very much appreciated.

I would also like to note that both Cass and Abelljefrry designed very beautiful book covers that were much too pretty.  Much to their chagrin I went with the ugly cover because ugly sells better on Kindle.  :)  So don't blame them for the ugly cover.  Blame me.

Max I would like to buy a hard-copy if possible.
There will be a hardcopy soon, but not this year.

Once the plug-ins are available, do you plan on selling for bitUSD?

Of course.

Charles have you ever thought of running to be a 100% delegate?

Given how high profile you are in the crypto community, I would vote for you.

/Sorry for hijacking thread this idea just occured to me.

I have chatted to BM about this.  I am not sure if it is kosher.  Just so everyone knows I am/was one of Brian Pages underlings.  I already receive performance based remuneration.  My original thought was that a delegate role was double dipping.   BM suggested that a delegate role would be supplemental and perfectly valid.  He brought me around on the topic somewhat.

I will just focus on delivering massive value to the community for the rest of this year and perhaps in January I will send out a pulse to see if it is something the community would like me to pursue.

Hi Forum,

So later this week I plan on launching a couple of initiatives that have been a long time in the making. I have written a book and will launch a weekly internet show about bitshares.

The primary purpose of these projects is to give a greater suite of tools for people interested in Bitshares to learn more.  I hope you enjoy the tools and they assist everybody in explaining the complexities of BitShares.

I am pleased to say that BM and Stan (among others) have read the book and are pleased with the way it educates the reader about BitShares in an easy to understand way. Even some passionate Bitshare enthusiasts learned a lot and had some difficult concepts crystallized after reading the book.

I am really hoping to get this book to best seller status in its category on Amazon Kindle.   Hence I am giving everyone a heads up now so that you know the book will be available as of Thursday.

If you are on this forum or on the newsletter list you will receive an email also.  The book will be 0.99 cents on kindle and I intend to give away some prizes for reviews and posting on facebook that you purchased the book.  Stay tuned for details about that.

The weekly internet show will also launch at the same time. I think this will be a great avenue to get the word out about bitshares. Hopefully you find them entertaining and educational enough that you might choose to share them with your friends and contacts.

Thanks.

PS: A lot of people worked very hard and contributed to all of these projects, not just me.   On Thursday I will properly credit each of the contributors and thank them for their efforts.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check in.

A few thoughts.

1. Thank you for the kind words in this thread.
2. A huge compliment to Dan and team to create paid delegates.  Last month this concept nearly tore us apart. This month we see that it is the mechanism by which we as a community never have to go through this kind of problem ever again. Not to mention the spur of activity on nullstreet and other locations that are a direct result.
3. If it were not for Brian, I would not be here, so I have tremendous appreciation to him for that gift.
4. I have a lot of faith in Brian and BM checking their egos and arriving at a solution that is good for bitshares and the community when they are face to face this week.

Great job, I hope we will see bitshares on TED soon
.

If bitshares marketing contacted me, then I'd be happy to mention them on TED or any of the other venues I speak at.

What is the best way to contact you?  You can PM me if you wish.  :)

Why is the initial margin requirement fixed anyway? As you explained it protects the user and not the system, so everybody should be able to choose according to their own risk affinity.

Fungability.   if each user chooses a different requirement then bitUSD is not fungible.

Thats why we should sell them BitBTC instead.

Yes, we could market BitBTC as a sidechain :)

It's not going to work. Bitcoiners have years of experience identifying anything that threatens bitcoins market cap and instantly labeling it a scam, pump n dump, shitcoin, etc.

The only way we can avoid this is by marketing bitshares as a block chain with features that do not even compete with bitcoin at all, only complement it. Bitassets can explicitly be marketed to the dark markets and to non-bitcoin users.

Agree completely

Yes.  But I hit a wall because of our reputation.   I will get him, but it will take a few more touches, and in the mean time I will try to repair our reputation

Hmm what is wrong with our reputation?
In the past we have come across as very anti-bitcoin.  Like we are gonna crush them and take over them.  Obviously everyone invested in bitcoin is not going to be very open minded to hearing our message with this stance.  Unfortunately that is our reputation.

It seems like the video is jumping in mid-conversation. I think it would be a good idea to have an intro of some sort to get people up to speed.

It is.   The full conversation is for paid customers only.  The full interview was nearly an hour long.

Right, but I mean I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of splash screen or intro or anything that tells viewers who's talking and what show it is when jumping in mid conversation like this. Right now I think many people on reddit will open the video, feel confused and then bounce before Trace Mayer begins to speak.

Ah... I see your point.  I will add an annotation to help.
