I think that adding the referral system to the trading fees is a good idea, so the referral can earn money when one of their referred users trades. However, in the realworld  only maybe 1-2% of all users are active traders, the rest are casual users.

Please tell me, if the transfer fee is set to next to zero - what is the incentive for a wallet/payment provider to refer new users?

Casual users (98% of the userbase) are only interested in using their wallet to transfer money around, much like Paypal. They use their wallet to pay Merchants.

Under the new system, it's almost impossible to sustain a wallet/payment provider business. Only 2% of all referred users by this wallet provider are traders, the rest will only use the "money transfer" option.

In my opinion, we still need a sizeable transfer fees, not nescessary 20 cents, but it should be at least 5-10 cents so a wallet provider has an incentive to run its business.

Also, under the current system, people have an incentive to buy a lifetime upgrade, and the referral gets parts of this too. The fee must be high enough that the user is still incentivized to buy their LT upgrade.

How will we get main stream users when there's no incentive to run a wallet/payment service for the common users? I'm not talking about traders.

I'm working on such a bot that copies over orders from central exchanges into the internal orderbook.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Worker Proposal - Asset pool fee funding
« on: November 03, 2015, 04:46:54 pm »
I updated the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_so41Ogm44a871ZVjIWyZXhQptGi7i0dNFvfeyY8gng/edit#gid=0

I also wrote a script to automate the daily funding. I'll tidy it up over the weekend and then release on github.

Technical Support / Re: Worker proposals
« on: October 31, 2015, 11:06:27 am »
Another problem I see is that nobody would even attempt to make open source changes to the BTSUI wallet since it's not exactly open, it cannot be freely used by everyone.

So unless someone creates a proposal to create a all new open source web-based wallet, we're probably not going to see much activity on the frontend side except from CNX, and this kind of defeats the open market we've been all looking for.

For example, I've toyed with the idea to add features ontop of the bts ui wallet, but decided against it after the license was changed. The community including web wallet hosters cannot use my added features without actually paying commissions to CNX. I understand that CNX needs a revenue model, but this revenue model kind of killed the open source movement for the BTS ui frontend, so it's not exactly the best solution.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Summary of How Workers Work in BitShares 2.0

I believe your factor 10000 is wrong, it should be 100000 on the actual worker proposal

Code: [Select]
"daily_pay": 1000000000,
equals 10000 BTS as seen on cryptofresh.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Worker Proposal - Asset pool fee funding
« on: October 28, 2015, 09:06:07 pm »
Dear stakeholders,

I have funded the asset pool funds today, for the second time.

We're funding a total of 14000 BTS per day (4000 CNY, 4000 USD, 2000 EUR, 2000 GOLD, 2000 SILVER), but unfortnatually I made a mistake in my calculation and set the daily payrate to only 10000 BTS. As a result, the worker funds will not last until the projected end. Also this proposal was voted in 6 days after the initial start date, so that further decreases available funds. The funds are projected to last until November 12. I have uploaded a file for you to review here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_so41Ogm44a871ZVjIWyZXhQptGi7i0dNFvfeyY8gng/edit#gid=0

I'm in the process of writing a script that automatically fills the pools, which should be ready by the weekend. Until then I will fill the pool manually.

Thank you,

Best regards
mindphlux

TRADE.BTC/TRADE.BTS is using the internal decentralized exchange.

However, you can also buy BTS using poloniex and withdraw your bought BTS to your bitshares wallet.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: dele-puppy as temporary committee member
« on: October 28, 2015, 06:59:37 am »
A fee structure like this is not possible in the protocol, so a Committee member can also not create a proposal for this. This needs a worker proposal to make the changes in the protocol first, and then a Committee proposal to get it activated (hard fork)

    • BUT any proposal can also be rejected by shareholders within the review period? If so, how?
    [/list]

Vote the Committee member who made the proposal out within the review period. The review period should be 14 days.
The Committee member can specify what other Committee members are required for approval - if those Committee members do not approve, the proposal is not valid, if I'm not mistaken.

puppy has not designed any Committee members that are required to approve, so it could go through if he's not voted out before the review period ends.

It seems you set the non premium account creation fee to 4750000 which is 47.5 BTS, if I'm not mistaken. Where's the multiplicator?

    I voted for your approval.

I have submitted a proposal to change the non premium account creation fee to 47.5bts*2 to return it to the 95bts it was at prior to the recent doubling of fees.  The proposal is 1.10.9

Please support this proposal.  At the current price of 190bt to create an account the 80% refund takes 90 days to vest.  Reducing this to 95bts will be good for our faucets and our referral system, as it will allow them to get their cash back funds in a timely manner.

    p.s.

I know delulu in person and he has constantly spammed me with bitshares since early 2014, I wasn't listening at the time. Finally in August 2014, I decided to take a closer look and was overwhelmed. I'm a long term BTS holder since that day and I don't regret anything :)

    Stakeholder Proposals / Commitee: mindphlux
    « on: October 27, 2015, 07:23:19 pm »

I originally wanted to step down after my last commitee proposal was successful, but the community is still not in control of the network, so I decided to be active again.

    Agenda/Proposal:

    - lower trading fees
    - lower account creation
    - increase community control of bitshares, that includes that BM should eventually step down from controlling everything. we need to take over!

However, since I'm also a elected witness, I will not vote for witness fee changes or propose any. That should keep me out of a potential conflict of interest.
When there are enough commitee members so I'm no longer needed, I'll gladly step down
