General Discussion / Re: Market GUI Feature Request
« on: August 20, 2014, 03:25:55 pm »
If there's a better place to put this post, could an admin move it there?

First, good work on the GUI! Here's something we need, I believe urgently: When trading in the USD:BTSX market, it would be helpful when you enter a price for it to show you both the USD/BTSX value and the BTSX/USD value. That way there's instant visual feedback about what's going on.

The GUI needs to have information that implicitly pushes the market equilibrium towards the peg so that novice traders can get on and say "hey! I can get BitUSD for 90 cents on the dollar! hot damn! I'll just click this button and buy some!" rather than having to get out their calculator and look over at coinmarketcap.com and figure out what a fair price is.

100% agree. This is a must !!!

Preston Byrne is on the Let's talk bitcoin show today: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/lets-talk-bitcoin-137-eye-of-the-beholder

The only element of surprise here, for me at least, is that Preston Byrne is actual person and not pseudonym of AdamBL's.

Yeah, I'm logged in.  I can reply to the post, just can't vote.

Somebody most have voted from your computer already... I do not know then... You sure you account is not restricted somehow?

I think you'd still be able to change your vote.  my best guess is minimum post count restriction.

Interesting, I only have 44 posts and could vote. I clicked create new poll and I don't see any option to set a minimum number of posts for a user to vote, but that could be an admin setting set by bitcointalk.

I only have 10 post and I can't vote. I'm guessing there is a minimum post count.

BitShares AGS / Re: Should I be doing something?
« on: August 13, 2014, 06:31:15 pm »
You can still sit this out but ... the long term plan is to have a 5% inactivity fee for stakes that have not been moved for more then 365 days .. just a fyi
What constitutes "moving a stake?"

You need in the next 360 day to import your wallet and then you need to move your Btsx tokens from one account to another too.

I have a handful of AGS from before the Feb. 28 snapshot. I understand that this entitles me to some BTS X and maybe future projects.  I don't have any interest in liquidating or trading anything. I haven't downloaded the BTS X wallet etc.

Do I need to be actively doing anything or can I just sit here indefinitely?

You don't need to import them right away if you don't feel like it, I din't either, I downloaded the wallet just to play with.
Yup you'll have token in the upcoming DAC that honor the AGS and PTS. There are two snapshots happening in August !!

General Discussion / Re: A Case for Adam B Levine
« on: August 13, 2014, 05:30:19 pm »
Well here you have it. If there was any doubt :

"Because each action, whether a send, the creation of a new token, placing an order on the decentralized exchange or using the prediction market... Every single action you perform must first be included in a bitcoin block before it actually happened. You've never felt how slow the blockchain can be until you're waiting an hour to confirm a market order.

What we need is an alternative, something cheap, plentiful and fast. Turns out there are quite a few options out there that meet this need, but my favorite by far is Dogecoin."

"LTBCOIN is not moving to Doge... yet... But as I've always said, LTB is focused on solutions in the new digital economy more than being a ra-ra we're all going to be rich about Bitcoin. If there is an obviously better solution to accomplish a given task, we'll use it."

His company's modest first strategic objective is to double the market cap of BTSX a half-dozen times or so.  I'm betting they will.

As someone who's been an entrepreneur and self employed nearly all of my professional life, I've always been drawn to starting businesses.   As of today, I'll once again be self employed, as I am launching a new marketing company.   I'll continue on as brand champion for BitShares and will still be very involved with the BitShares team, but will no longer draw a salary.  I believe there will soon be a real need to market and promote new DACs and I want to focus my efforts on doing just that.

One of our core values at BitShares has always been about decentralization.  In the next six months I expect the pace of decentralization to increase, even among BitShares as an organization.  We will have several businesses spring out of our core team, this one being just one of them.  I have put together an incredible team of my own and our primary focus in the next couple months will be in improving and promoting BitSharesX, as well as strategic marketing for several upcoming DACs.

Expect in the near future to see a link for my company on the partners page and feel free to reach out if you're a project lead on a DAC and you'd like to discuss how we can help you with your marketing needs.   Thanks BitShares forum, and here's to even greater days ahead for BitShares!

Bigger Than Bitcoin,
Brian

Do you have a marketing plan to show us or something we can use to measure progress behind your efforts?

So far Bitshares X isn't even showing signs of growth so a lot of us are skeptical right now. When will we see positive results and what do you plan to do?

He was not answering those kind of question when he was a full time I3 employee so don't expect too much now
Don't know what to say .... he was very good explaining bitshares in general one of the best, we have to give him that!!!
Bitshare-x is out and the others DAC's are around the corner..... so I was thinking finally now he can deliver marketing wise. he has a real product in his hands etc....but obviously I was wrong he chose to move on.
Well, finally probably it is a good thing !!! Brian was doing alright overall but  "alright" is not good enough...you need to be passionate in this kind of business like many are here, even though they are not payed....
My personal take , Brian had a different market strategy that was not necessary I3 or the forum strategy,  so I hope now, he could deliver on he's own. He knows and understands the business like nobody else so marketing DAC the way he want too  probably it is a good think, for I3, for him and for the shareholders... so good luck Brian !!!
Alright now Brian is out!!! I3 marketing it is not the stronger side(anyway looking at the general forum opinion..) , so if there is a time to  change it is probably now, I suggest to look at the community AND let put some more marketing money it to this because this is really important ??

I don't even really know what to say guys.  Invictus has done a terrible job with branding and marketing.  It is ever changing, it is poorly explained and it is exceptionally confusing even to people who are invested in Invictus much less those who have never heard of the product.  Do you disagree?

I'm a PTS, AGS and BTSX holder and I don't understand the structure.  Why is that not a problem?  How much has been paid to Brian, and what has been accomplished by it?  I literally introduced Brian and Daniel, I am not out to shoot myself in the foot - But I also feel like I've been pretty complacent for the last six months while Brian has produced really very little output that I've seen and I am asking for clarity.

It would be great if you guys would take a step back from your investment and ask critical questions.  Mostly this forum is ideation and celebration (because we're all going to be rich and/or change the world) really regardless of whether the circumstances justify it.

The only time I seem to hear from Brian are threads like this and so I am asking what he is doing when he is not posting threads like this about very recent victories.

Do YOU understand what Brian does? Please, explain it to me.

This is constructive criticism Adam.  Big +1 for that.  I'm pretty sure with this kinds of comment nobody will "attack" you.
