People fiercely attack anyone who says anything that goes against their financial bias.
Fixed that for you. Welcome to planet Earth.

Stakeholder Proposals / How does "pay_vesting_period_days" work?
« on: May 18, 2016, 08:47:01 pm »
At http://docs.bitshares.org/bitshares/tutorials/worker-create.html I read the following, on the topic of worker vesting:

Quote
The variable pay_vesting_period_days is the integer number of days you set for vesting.
Does this mean that after n days, the entire payment switches from unavailable to available? Or does it mean that 1/n of the payment becomes available each day until the nth day is reached? If the latter, is there a way to set up the former?

Yeah, I messaged @JonnyBitcoin about http://www.thedex.org/, because his links are to a raw IP address and are currently broken. What's the domain for Freedomledger?

have been promised
I wouldn't put too much weight on such promises. Of course, I am speaking to the great NewMine, a veteran of realistic expectations.  :)

Technical Support / Hosted Wallet registrars
« on: May 18, 2016, 05:53:59 pm »
It looks like the most popular BTS 2.0 hosted wallet is OpenLedger, which takes a whopping 50% cut from referrals when it acts as a registrar, leaving just 30% to the referrer. What competing registrars, if any, exist?

Thanks for the info. Is there a place where I can read about the percentage of the fee that goes to the registrar?
http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/user/referal-program.html
That page also references annual memberships, in the example section. Looks like it's time for an update.

Cool stuff.  +5%

Tough decision. As a fellow software dev, I hate having to manage backward-compatibility.

Technical Support / Do Annual Accounts still exist?
« on: May 17, 2016, 09:56:57 pm »
The example at https://bitshares.org/referral-program/ references "Annual Accounts" which have their rates locked in for one year. Is this still an available option? I don't see "Buy Annual Account" next to "Buy Lifetime Subscription" in the light wallet at https://bitshares.openledger.info.

I seem to recall that Annual Accounts were removed, so if that's true, the page should be updated.

EDIT: Also, the light wallet references registrar fees, but I don't see info in the help docs about this. Do we have an up-to-date writeup of how it all works?

General Discussion / Bug: duplicate icons on bitshares.org

Each link in the main portion of https://bitshares.org/ appears twice for me, once with the /zh path prefix, and once without.

Current total supply is less than 2.5 billion, because the merger from 2014 is still being vested. Xeroc's number is the maximum that can be created via witness pay and worker pay (unless the "spending limit" is raised).

Always available -- until it is spent! Then I bet it will be like the USA debt limit: we must raise the spending limit! :P
