It's exactly that, they are printing USD out of thin air, how can they not profit from this? The Dev (Jordan Lee) already set out the distribution plan, the entire NuShares stake will be distributed for $4.5M, and it's a private sale, you have to message him to set up the deal to buy some shares.

I don't think so, since the blockchain has to record who has what, so it should be possible to know the top 100 address? but we won't know who actually owns these address (ie which id associates to which address). Correct me if I'm wrong about this.

No, it's kinda different from Ripple, Ripple increased supply dramatically. Doge is just having one exchange with wrong price feed, that is throwing off the price.
