I created and registered an account after completing a wallet export on my gui client. When I updated I didn't do a new export, I just wiped my data directory and imported my wallet json. That account no longer shows up in my accounts. The transaction that registered the account is still visible but shows as being sent to UNKNOWN. I had assumed that the export exported a master key that would pull all registered accounts upon rescan. It looks like I was wrong. Is that account lost forever, or is there some way of retrieving it. There are no funds in it, I just liked the name.

Yeah there is likely a way to recover it. We just have to regen the key.
Not implemented now, but easy enough to add.

Awesome. Thanks

I managed to get it back. I was trying to register a new account and was getting an error saying the key was already registered. I dumped the private key for that unregistered account, imported that with the correct name, and got my registered account back.

This must be what happened to me. I made a backup early on, then the new version of bitsharesX stopped working on Wine for me. So I went to that backup and had the same results with some of the accounts. Oh well they're nothing important and I can wait.

We've recently added an account recovery command in the latest development code: https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/compare/91df162703...6bc8ebe1a0

I have an issue where my wallet account names keep dissapearing and reappearing?

Please post details with commands you've ran and their outputs and/or screenshots. Or preferably open an issue https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/issues with the information.
