Appears if you are a lifetime member, it's 121 bts for a 5 character or longer asset.

These can be changed if you have a real business case, you can justify to the committee members why they should be lowered.

This is a good reason to add the prefix back to all the assets.  To avoid such confusion this should be clearly labeled open.DOGE vs BTS for example.

How is it that the whole crypto market moves in such uniformity?

Only example I can think of is looking at poloniex where everything is vs btc traders are simply converting alts > btc > usdT?  Even with such a war between BTC devs about segwit, I can't see the logic of simply exiting the crypto space?

Good time to analyze which witnesses were quick to react with this situation.

After seeing Bitcoin go from nothing to $2500 today and everything in between, this is nothing!  I've never seen more news articles and regular people talking about blockchains then ever before.  Blockchain technology may finally be rising up from the basement.

@svk

With the BTS and crypto market so hot at the moment do you have any time to continue GUI development?  Xeroc was able to create the way to get paid in bitUSD for example so it's easier to budget part time/full time etc...

Unless this worker gets voted back in at some point, all of my focus is now dedicated to the upcoming Soledger blockchain project. I will make an initial announcement on the project after development has progressed a bit more. The details may change, but my hope is that the project can directly benefit the members of the BitShares community. If possible, I hope to also give an extra bonus to those who directly supported myself and Soledger either through this worker, or with other contributions to the project in the future.

create a new worker proposal in bitusd like @xeroc.  your current worker is too expensive at this point.

@vikram This is a good idea, any interest in doing so?  With the BTS and crypto market heating up, continued development would be a great asset.  Even if you can only do it part time etc...

Most of this info can be found on a block explorer such as cryptofresh.com

http://cryptofresh.com/reserve

Workers:  Xerox developed a new way to pay workers by having the end amount in BitUSD for example instead of bts/day.  This way if there are major price swings over the course of a workers contract, no one can complain.

@xeroc The conclusion of the paper shows some room for improvement within the network and validator code.  Is this something that can be done with a worker proposal?  EOS appears a ways off so why not improve what we have at the current time?

$0.05 spread from the other exchanges to Poloniex, interesting.  I noticed Poloniex has usually only been $0.01 or $0.02 lower in recent history.

Wonder why?

I recall @bitcrab & @pc having a in depth discussion on this awhile back.

This forum is difficult to search however here are two interesting threads to read:

Any of the BitAssets are quite nice.  BitUSD, BitCNY, BitGold etc...  https://bitshares.org/technology/price-stable-cryptocurrencies/

Of course the Hero is the latest interesting Formula Backed Asset: https://steemit.com/hero/@Stan/the-billion-hero-challenge

There are two main types of assets, BitAssets & User Issued Assets.

BitAssets: https://bitshares.org/technology/price-stable-cryptocurrencies/
UIA: https://bitshares.org/technology/user-issued-assets/
Recently added: Formula backed assets: https://steemit.com/hero/@Stan/the-billion-hero-challenge (steem links seem to capitalize some letters, just change them to lower case.)

There is no mining in BitShares, it's Delegated Proof of Stake.

@xeroc can help with API info
