General Discussion / Re: I'm Nervous, Please Reassure Me
« on: February 04, 2015, 12:07:05 am »
If it's its own blockchain, there will be a snapshot from NOTE UIA to the real NOTEs after the NOTE UIA is frozen. If it doesn't have its own blockchain, we'll be building whatever smart contract stuff they need into BTS directly. That is still not decided and it's not that important in the short term, this just lets people trade the snapshot.

I'm excited about NOTE snapshot being made liquid exclusively on BTS.

What? How does that work? Details please.

The NOTEs will be a UIA issued to the snapshot addresses. How else could it work?

Yeah, psychotherapy thread !

The premises haven't changed : we know that once the product is finished, it is the best. We know BitAssets work. This is huge. But everybody feels so bad. I guess it's the Bitcoin depression... if price was going +1% every day we would be ecstatic... and price is almost entirely dependent on Bitcoin.
I would love the BTS price to stabilize relative to the USD, and to let BTC sink alone.. Good news like shapeshift integration almost had no effect...

We have so many good news, good news like shapeshift integration almost had no effect...  and bad news aren't that we lose money, nor that our product is weak... bad news are just that we are late, and that many recurrent problems are still not addressed. And Brian's broken promises. (And Bingo). But it's nothing that really should get the price down so low.

Ethereum is currently massively overvalued (I don't remember if it was Rune or Fuzzy's analysis that the current price value them at $400 trillions in the end...), they will suffer the same problems as we do for months. We still have the best product. There are countless business that could thrive on easily usable BitAssets : let's get them out there.

I'm back to bullish tonight  :)

Ethereum is valued around $60m, not 400 trillion o.O

Technical Support / Re: Account Registration
« on: February 03, 2015, 09:00:48 pm »
The faucet's error message implies you tried to register too many times.

If you post your account key (accounts -> armin39 -> keys) we can send you some funds and you can register it with the "register" button.

This is a "bridge", not a "gateway". Gateways issue UIAs and hold reserves.

But, awesome!

Technical Support / Re: Account registration faucet for new users!

Oops. I just noticed I bought BitShares PTS and not BTS. I am not having luck finding a way to own BTS without getting a BTS wallet. Any help?

You can hold BTS on an exchange like bter.com

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: New Delegates: Zach Lym Trial Week
« on: January 30, 2015, 06:26:00 pm »
I will buy bitUSD until I have 1,551 to cover what I couldn't cover from the remainder of the DNS dev fund, then I will continue running the delegate until I get back the registration fee. At that point I will either take this guy offline or make a new proposal if there is another dev we want for a trial.

Status update, delegate reg fee is paid back and debt is down to 1k bitUSD.

Will you become instantly re-hired if the robohashes are fixed to be the original ones?

Did you actually have a business with an established reputation/brand yet?

DevShares / Re: Creating a bitpay Insight-like server
« on: January 30, 2015, 04:38:40 pm »
The issue is that the Bitshares RPC client doesn't allow us to have multiple accounts at the same time, so it can't be used as a server.

We would like for users to be able to log in their browser, without downloading anything, and immediately get their transactions, send money, etc.  In this case, users will be communicating with our server, which would send those requests to the Bitshares RPC client - not possible because of the one account per client limitation.

What do you mean by "account"? You can use multiple BTS accounts in one client but I'm assuming you mean something different

"Does the new PTS DPOS or any other DPOS clone coin honor the original robohashes"

You realize this was robohash's fault, not ours? We didn't change anything. We want very much to have a custom robohash service so that this doesn't happen, we just don't have the bandwidth.

Also did your entire business model really rely on having a particular robohash image?

Soft launch for bitUSD and BTS. Try it out.

We'll do a joint marketing thing once all the kinks are worked out
