There will be a way to publish a so called "slate" (set of delegates) that you can vote on .. but that is not implemented complelty at the moment .. but it will come!

BTW, thanks for your effort ... it is well appreciated

Why not provide some information on the criteria used to create the list.
So far we see a list of names generated by algorithm + manual labor but it doesn't define why someone will get into that list.
Were you using only your gut feeling for that, payment system ?
Title: Re: RDPOS Script or other solutions
Post by: emski on August 28, 2014, 06:57:46 am
The algorithm uses the following criterias
is the delegate active?
whats the reliabilty?
who is the owner? (only one delegate per Person, mostly)
gut feeling of KettenBlog

(not implemented yet)
how many paid positions are on the list?
verified?
Location
backup system
...

My primary goal is to provide a new service for my blog readers and promoting my delegate to compensate my work as blog author.
The list is aimed to get always some fresh good blood into the circulation of the 101 delegates.
I would never publish a list with only or mostly payed positions. I could imagine to provide up to 10 paid positions but at the moment there is none and if there will be ever a paid position i will note the count prominently on the list to keep it transparently.

Everybody can create and publish his own list and this filter algorithm is only a help for me to simplify my decision process.

Is this the first time you publish the criteria?
I would suggest you add this on top of the list.
Good Job!

Another question: Are the criteria listed by priority?

"eligius

gmaxwell

Those are not G .maxwell, sunny king and Eligius. Someone tried to trick people into thinking it would be...

cloudhashing and blockerupter I dont know but sounds suspicous.

I'm sorry, but this list is complete garbage.  (No offense to the legitimate names on the list)

There are at least 15 to 20 names on your list that have already been shown, with very high probability, to be the same user.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=5939.0

I can only suspect you have put near zero effort into vetting these delegates.

You will receive no support from me without some *serious* reworking.

Edit: less harsh

The effort he put was at least announcing what he was going to do and reading all the data sent to him (as PM or in his thread).
It is clear that he didn't put a lot of work in additional investigation but it is better than nothing (... OK arguably).

There are several items that I consider a bad practice:

The paid AND not clearly indicated positions in the list (if any).
The non-weighted criteria (for example 5 points for hardware, 10 points for reliability, 7 gut feeling).
The unexplained gut-feeling (actually if the above rule is available this is OK).

The article needs a lot of improvement but it needs to start from somewhere...

Did you remove all of xeroc's delegates or just some of them ?

I like this idea.  In fact I tried to get another forum user to create something like this but using a lot more of the forum info.  It would be nice to read the platforms etc of the delegates.  Where their charity goes.  Then there are other things, like length of time on forum, # of posts etc.

What do you mean by "only 1 is approved"?
Happyshares promised to pay those who vote for him. If such a voting habit is vastly adopted it significantly weakens DPOS (see the two links for more details). Therefore such deals should not be approved in general!

you can search with your browser through the list with F3 ? so there is one delegate approved that is under the control of xeroc as far as i know.

new informations will be added if useful and i will try to improve the list with every release.

I only glanced at this earlier and thought search wasn't working.  I do think that some people should not have multiple delegates held against them if they've been part of the community for a long time, like 2013 with a lot of posts.

Going through the sub-forum and integrating all that info is very useful.  I had a spreadsheet I had started on but realized I was doing too many things so never started on it.

I would like to see forum accounts of the delegates, the signup date of their forum account, , the number of posts on a certain day, etc.  Just everything to show how committed they've been to the ecosystem.  I tried to get someone else to do it, but not sure if there is near the need with your work.  Good job.

I wanted to take something like this with every relevant column then make a JSON feed off it.  Then with JSON feed, people could write tool easily to select slate according to criteria.  If the data source criteria are kept relevant and accurate (by audit/manual update) then we have something to help enable voting.

BTW making JSON feed from google spreadsheet seems quite easy.   I haven't done it but it looked easy with a quick google.

Vato, can we see your (weighted) criteria somewhere?  I consider trustworthiness to be the the most important thing (just not someone that wants to harm the network intentionally), more important than up time etc. How do you measure that / factor that in ?

This is a good experiment for RDPOS and for testing how practicable it its! So great effort! Keep it up.
Title: Re: 101 Delegates for you! BTSX Delegates Report 08/2014 online
Post by: gamey on September 02, 2014, 09:08:52 pm

Well I personally think no one should control more than 1 delegate, but this is open to discussion and everyone is free to publish a list on his own with other criterias.
I will try to bring this list on Google but I don't think I will be able to do so in the next days as I already invested a couple of days in this Project and need to motivate myself for the next work.  ;)

My dream is to have something similar to yours but no subjective decisions.  All objective and empirical + verified.  Then once we have a nice json feed of that, we can start building slates created off different criteria.  If you want to support guys who do the max burn rate, then that would be simple to do.   Not entirely sure about the interface, but this would be a step in that direction.  Also, the data could then be put on multiple sites.  Basically any site interested in BTSX could use the JSON feed to power whatever web-widget flavor they use.   That will be a lot once we start to catch up with BTC.

Agreed, happyshares is now completely disapproved

+ made some important last minute changes to the list.
_ changed sort order so it is cristal clear that many of the 101 delegates are sock puppets and multis.
_ found some more insiders and unknown delegates

For the trust in DPOS i hope stakeholders will review their votes...

At the Moment we have 34 approved delegates not in the Top101 while 69 disapproved delegates are in.
Thats not enough to make the Top101 free of fraud but it would be a beginning.

This is completely incomprehensible, since everybody knows that i have canceled the happyshares project.
Delulo, you should know better, cause we talked about by PM. So no reason to vote me out people. Thanks!

Hi delulo,

one can read that it was canceled 2 months ago.

HappyShares was canceled see OP!

Also bytemaster knows about the fact, so i use happyshares-2 as my private delegate for now cause he voted me in.
Currently i work hard beside my day job on the announced approval explorer tool that grows daily. See first screenshots here:

When its finished, i come up with a new delegate related to that.
For now i would be glad to stay elected.

IMHO,  the file is pretty large, maybe reducing the list to 200-300 delegates will be enough, then you can present all the information on a website.
Besides, many delegates are identified as "multi", and recommended "disapprove". I hope you reconsider this criteria.  A team maintaining 2 delegates is much better than a single person maintaining 1 delegate, given their technical abilities are on the same level.
Lastly, if you can persuade BM to exploit your report, you will be famous ;D. After all, the 101 delegates are now merely controlled by BM.

How does one get added to the approved delegate list?

My delegate is online and updated but I am under the impression you can't publish price feeds if your not in the top 101.

My delegate (delegate.pollux) is listed as offline but definitely is running. Would appreciate it if you could verify/update.

Delegates without published Version will be recommended for disapproval in the december report.

Could you share the method you are using to get versions from delegates?

I use "blockchain_list_delegates".

Thanks.

For delegates that are ignorant on how to set this:

Code: [Select]
wallet_publish_version <publishing_account_name> [paying_account_name]

I only control 2 enabled delegates, only one of which is elected. So saying I have 6 delegates is a bit misleading. But I guess until there is retirement/key revocation there's no way for you to tell the difference.

BM doesn't control the init delegates.

It's been a while since I had three delegates in the top 101, I now have two but I want to retire the .svk31 delegates and replace them with dev.bitsharesblocks.

The problem is BM voted for the .svk31 delegates so until he removes his votes they stay in.

I would be interested in seeing a list containing only the delegates you've classed as unknown, maybe we can do some investigation to find out who they are!
