Thank you to everyone who has participated in some way with the Qora outreach effort. Thank you especially to Monsterer, Shentist (MetaExchange) and Ronnie (CCEDK) for offering your services to them.
Here is the result of a recent poll the Qora community posted for integration of blockchain blogging (and more) into BitShares:
http://qora.co.in/?q=integrate+qora+to+bitshares&poll
Yep! Qora is going to integrate to BitShares! Very special thanks to TuckFheman and Buck Fankers as well who made the connection and Cass who seems to be everywhere...all the time.
Looking like this partnership idea might be the right one...
But would that mean that we were thinking--bigger? pppinky? :D

I like the inclusive attitude that goes along with such embracing / integration of other chains / communities +5%
What does "integration" mean? Is there a place to read about this?

the "how" is to be discussed. the poll is to check if there's a general interest
-
I don't get this.
Only 13 addresses / 3% of the stake voted, isn't this announcement a bit premature ?
Plus I really don't understand how BTS could integrate them. How could Qora's features be conserved ? If Qora became an UIA, Qora users would have to pay 0.2$ each time they use Qora, how would that be accepted ?
-
unrelated but "sell or buy qora you can on the exchanges: poloniex.com, bter.com." could they add CCEDK too? Should be more reliable than Bter
regarding the high fees vs qora being more of a micro payment token, I honestly don't know if I'm saying nonsense as I'm not a technical guy but don't off chain transactions allow micropayments? And doesn't Ripple work that way? Couldn't we do that with BitShares? Doesn't BitShares support almost anything Ripple does on the protocol level?
Unless we wait for a third party service to provide it, the same way Coinbase does

Trustless, off chain transactions are an unsolved problem. Ripple is all on-chain. Bitshare's feature set is very different to ripple's. :)

Really excellent work guys, this expanding spirit of collaboration and mutual progress is truly marvelous. I really hope this growing connection with Qora continues to develop +5%

Thanks for clarifying +5%
I guess now we need an amount of votes big enough to represent a significant part of the Qora community in order to get this forward. 13 votes are not enough.

I agree, this poll isnt over yet. (There are no end dates on the polls I think?)
Its less than 4% of the votes. On the poll a few months back to move to the new wallet version after the creator left, they got like 20% of the stake voting.
What does it mean for Qora to integrate with Bitshares, if that were to occur? What are the technical details of that?
-
unrelated but "sell or buy qora you can on the exchanges: poloniex.com, bter.com." could they add CCEDK too? Should be more reliable than Bter
Where are you seeing that? We need to ask the qora guys to change it, remove bter and add ccedk.
-
I guess this should say "integrate Qora into bitshares is currently leading in the poll".
I like the idea of being able to trade Qora on the Bitshares blockchain, that would be awesome! Form our supernet! If this is what the poll means, then I like it.

What is the difference between a DPoS 2.0 (or heck...even a 1.0) based supernet...and a PoW/PoS based one? (hint: alot) ;)
Yes we have talked about this a little bit behind the scenes.
-
I think that if this can be done and the result is:
Qora still does all the decentralized web/social/blog/etc things it is working on, but also you can trade between Qora and BTS/bitAssets o nthe bitshares blockchain, then thats awesome. (It would be like having Bitshares enable ATs, and then being able to trade like you can now between Qora and Burst. But even cooler).

I think what doing this does is legitimizes Bitshares as a future standard/protocol to adhere to. Bitcoin/Bitshares/Ethereum...those are the only ones who I see have a future in the crypto space to really make a protocol. Everything else will belong as an extension of these three. Depends on whether or not MaidSAFE is a success (but the more I read about the economics...I'm not so sure).

I'm going to see if BTer will vote Yes with my stake they won't give back. ;)

you know that won't happen. why? they don't know how to unlock their wallet. :P

It's not like BitShares having AT's enabled! For this we would have to integrate AT before! Idk if this is planned ...i mean to implement original protocoll/code from CIYAM AT!

It has AT (automated transactions) developed by CIYAM (http://ww.ciyam.org) developers ! ( Sry .. but link is extrem technical)
So IMO it's not just a generic altcoin... as it has Atomic Cross Chain Trading enabled tradable currently between Qora and Burst!

Atomic Cross Trading is definitely something that would be beneficial in this ecosystem.

This is fantastic news, even more exposure for BTS!!
-
Atomic Cross Chain Trading?
so bitshares can trade between bitAsset & qura in the future?
-
Not necessarily just that. It can trade with anyone else who has the atomic cross chain code running in their chain. There's a whole bit on it on their website and in an article somewhere...

so we can trade bts-btc or bitBTC-BTC directly?

21% of stake voting is more than we get for Bitshares delegates. Its being taken at least as seriously as people voting for delegates in Bitshares.
Also, if we want even more voting, probably someone should explain the details of what it would mean for this to happen.

honestly I think this would be a great question to ask bytemaster if you want nitty gritty down and dirty details. The best time to ask imho would be during a hangout (but naturally I am biased).

Not that we know of.
QPV (#1 holder) is polo cold wallet, and QXN (#6) is bter. These two we dont know who they belong to. It is possible hat they are also exchange wallets, this occurred at one point in the past where one of the top wallets turned out to also be a bter wallet address.

I asked on the QORA slack channel if there is some news about the integration on BitShares.
I had this answer ;
"We actually need an official info about the whole story with bitshares, we dont know in simple terms what that integration means or even the insights on a more detailed approach to conclude on this"
Anyone here have info or a simple explanation on the potential integration ?

I'm not sure who responded, but I have discussed this with Vrontis and what's indicated above is pretty accurate. We've only covered basics of integrating things like Qora's decentralized web into BitShares 2.0 as a Worker Proposal. Clearing up what exactly doing that means is what's still being discussed and it needs to be discussed among all of the Qora Dev's and put to a vote by the Qora Community. The original vote I believe was a bit confusing (as far as what the vote meant) and only a small fraction of the Community voted (from my last check). There is also the option that Qora "may" (again, this has only been discussed once or twice) in the future as a possibility create something like bitQora as a UIA on BitShares 2.0.
To be clear, right now, the Qora Dev team are only focused on working on the Qora blockchain and there is no internal discussion among the Dev's about doing anything on the BitShares blockchain and probably won't be any time soon. It is however a future possibility.
-
I forgot to say in my comment that the answer I received on slack was from Vrontis.
Thanks for the detailed answer !
I like the idea of some symbiotic relation between QORA and BitShares ;p
-
+1 for symbiotics
