General Discussion / Re: Metatrader 4 and Bitshares
« on: November 08, 2015, 01:10:01 am »
To be honest I think this is more than we need right now. I think it would be good to have metatrader 4 in the future but for now we need something quick and simple like poloniex layout. and a chat box is needed.
We need crypto liquidty first and then in the future we can go for real fx liquidity with metatrader 4.

Valentin Jesse made this mockup which is the direction I think we need to head in.

big whales don't know where others margin calls are or even if there are any margin longs at all.

so when they dump bts fast to try and trigger others margin calls they are kind of guessing and hoping there is a lot of margin longs.

There was a situation a couple of days ago where a 50btc market buy would have been enough to double the price and a 50btc market sell would half the price.
This was on poloniex which has the deepest BTS books.

this means a whale could drop the BTS/USD feed and create black swan events on bitshares which could be beneficial.

Great, but no one is going to want to pay to post messages in a trollbox, so you cant record those messages in the blockchain. It needs to be free.

Yeah it has to be free and external from bitshares/openledger

General Discussion / IRC/telegram as a trollbox?

I've traded for years and the trollbox is good for realtime info,  this forum is too slow for sharing trading info, even if its fud it still helps build the community.

Can somebody quickly knock up a website that iframes a troll box on the right side and openledger on the left.

even if its just polos troll box

real traders will not trust smart coins because of the potential for black swan events.

real traders will only trust (IOU dollars) from large banks. I can't see any bank issuing dollars on bitshares in the near future

The power users for bitshares are altcoin traders.
Altcoin traders like poloniex and it doesn't matter if altcoin traders like it for irrational reasons, they just like it.
Longer term bitshares market maybe forex trading but for now we should target altcoin traders directly.

This means copying exactly what poloniex do.

we need a normal login like they have.
we need 2fa like they have.
we need a fee structure like they have.
we need a GUI like them with a troll box

All fees should drop to a low simple price of say 5bts and bitshares should run at a loss for a long time until we have volume.
