on "my Accounts" I see pending status for the transactions that have to do with "register to delegate" accounts...
but on "directory" I can see them as delegates on the standby list

???

I used the command

wallet_clear_pending_transactions

the funds are removed from the account I was sending but they never appeared on the account I send them...

has it to do with
wallet_rescan_blockchain
that not work because delegates are present?
and how can I make a blockscan on windows?

Can I disable producing blocks for all delegates with one command ?
If no it would be great to implement something like this: "wallet_delegate_set_block_production all false"

I'm not sure, but you can change "all" to "ALL", and try again.

It would be better instead of informing on Block Explorer:

Missing Block

it is better to say

Skipping Block

So new users want see that as a negative or a problem with the network etc. !
Even me when I see that I am on panic!

I don't say to promote it as a positive... (why not?  :P)
you don't lie saying

skipping block

why to scare the people?
after all it is only for information,
the average user can't do nothing about it...

I don't say to hide the information just not to promote negative impressions about bitshares network...
It has to do with psychology. I want our users happy  ;)

I use wine and 0.2.1 and I deleted the folders of 0.2.0 and installed 0.2.1 fresh. works. Only thing is the flickering log in box window. But I don't care because I am happy it works with wine, which is a big luck.

Known issue, we have someone working on it.   For now if you can use multi-bit to export your private keys to WIF format you can import them manually.

I had the "idle" problem, and BM said it's a known issue. The reason is that you change the log out time to an extremely big value, right?

You can try to uninstall the wallet after backup your wallet, and then import the wallet.json. The timeout value can be changed in the wallet.json file.

Is it normal?

If you are just looking for a taste while they are working out the bugs on windows boxes, you can always install ubuntu inside of windows without changing disk partitions, or anything.  From there its a pretty easy build of the BTSX gui.

I have registered 9 new delegates:

liondani-1
liondani-2
liondani-3
...
...
liondani-9

with pay rates from 1% to 9% to give the biggest rewards back to the community... BUT I am stuck!

the problem is I can not find them on the stand by delegate list!!! (only the old liondani-delegate-1 to 9)
Any thoughts?

Also, I have to go to the control panel in order to uninstall. Clicking the uninstall icon in the start menu does nothing.

had you changed your password at some time? If yes try your old password because that is the right for backups made before password change...
Do you tried to import from json or do you have the wallet directory backup?

I read somewhere that on this windows gui version the import from json method is problematic and it is suggested to keep the json file for the next version.... or import this file on a linux setup with a BTSX wallet present.... (Am I right? Is it related with this issue?)

PS  do you checked your CAPS-LOCK key or was a different language active (like Chinesse) ?

The GUI runs acceptably well under WINE.  At least it didn't run any worse than under Windows.  Just download the .exe and install it.  chmod +x Bitshares-X-0.2.1.exe (or whatever).  Then ./Bitshares-x-0.2.1.exe (run the executable) and it installed.  I did have problems installing an upgrade, but I think maybe if you reboot before attempting it won't happen.

Comparing the downloads in the VPS and on my home computer, my home windows computer is blocking parts of the download.

In the AppData folder I am missing 3 of the files:

peers.leveldb

Anyone know why my computer is blocking these and how to unblock them from being downloaded?

See if you are missing the wallet.dat and peers.leveldb files like I am. It's located in Users in the appdata folder then in roaming.

This is the problem and I can't figure out the fix.

When I download on a windows VPS, it is totally fine.

Our computers are blocking it and I can't figure out why.

I have tried mozilla, IE and Chrome. Opened up my firewall and security and I still always get 3 out of the 6 files that should be in the roaming folder.

These files are generated by the client when it is running.  To the best of my knowledge they are a list of known peers, your wallet file that is saved when you create a wallet, and a configuration file.

If you have never created a wallet you could delete your entire data directory, and it would simply be rebuilt when the program is run.

You are likely missing these files because the program is terminating before they can be written.

I don't have a windows 7 box to troubleshoot with, but a few things I might try.

1.  Right click and run as administrator.

2.  Turn off anti virus.

3.  Create a new user account, and attempt to install/run it in that.

4.  Boot into safe mode with networking and attempt to run it.

If any of these work for you please post here for the others.

The wallet will not open for me on Windows....it crashes every single time
\
what is the error?

See my post history. I'm sure it's the same problem I've had.

yes it is the same problem....have you been able to find a remedy?

Does not work for me.

I get the same issue on windows, the wallet software appears to install ok but when you run it, it shuts down almost instantly.

Mine was working fine all day but now it shuts down almost instantly as well.  maybe they are working on some issues.
GALT, are you using win7? or what version?

I am facing the same problem. The wallet crashes instantly. I tried it on win8 64 bit and win7 64 bit as well but to no avail. Are their any prerequisites for installing the wallet?

If you have windows7 (32,64) Please make sure you uninstall any virtual or removable USB flash drives on your machine.
If you use flash drives Win7 keeps them installed when you remove the flash drive. Just uninstall them(it).
then run exe

Thanks for the help raleit2014.

I don't think I have any USB flash drives installed. My keyboard is connected via wireless USB. Which I assume is fine.

Windows says the problem event name is 'BEX' & gives me some other info I can post if that helps.

Great tip! Thanks for that. I had Daemon Tools on my machine which created two virtual drives; after deleting them BTSX loaded up on my machine.

Now, can somebody tell me how I can import a backup of my wallet onto a different machine running the BTSX software? The Import Wallet function is grayed out for me.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this is a solution to some of the problems being addressed in this thread, but earlier I couldn't open the windows client because of an empty disk drive. I would get the error "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive F:." This error would prevent me from opening the BitShareX program. I believe someone else was having the problem before and I found the solution today although I am not sure if it was solved elsewhere on the forum. You have to right click on the start button and then left click "Computer Management". Once under Computer Management click "Disk Management" under the Storage category. Find the disk that is giving the program trouble, right click it and select "Properties". Once under Properties click Driver and then Disable. Now the client should be able to open normal. Hopefully this helps someone.

Go to accounts.

Select your account.

Select the advanced tab.

Your key will begin with BTSX

Alternately you can go to the console page and type
Code: [Select]
wallet_list_my_accounts

Ok. I think you will be fine,  we just need to try a few things.

1.  Close wallet.
2.   Backup wallets directory
3.  Rename default to old default
4.  Rename youraccontname to default
5.  Start wallet.

On the new version 0.2.3 when I transfer funds and I write the recipient name it doesn't filter the name anymore, it drops a list with all registered names!
So i can not pick up a name suggestion dependen on the letters I typed and I must write all the account name  !!!

1.when mouseover a link the mouse "pointer" dont get to a "hand".
I think it was better before.

2.when clicking "Transfer" and the the drop down menu on "from" only your 15 first accounts show-up, so you cant choose for example your 20th account from here.
It would be great if on the list don't appera zero balance accounts since you can't transfer funds from them anyway....

liondani, thanks for your feedback.

#1 This makes the application to look and feel as "native" one, not a web app. All the clickable elements are still easy to distinguish from not clickable.

#2 The drop down is fixed in this commit https://github.com/BitShares/web_wallet/commit/96b007b40948abcad3c2ca94d53dfee09c6549a5 so expect to see it fixed in next release.
Good idea to exclude zero balance accounts.

1).when updating the "Priority Fee(BTSX)" lower than 0.1 BTSX then it doesn't make succesfull transfers and an error message appears after the transfer attempt about "insuficent priority fee"!
2).When updating the "Priority Fee(BTSX)" to higher values compared with 0.1 BTSX the transfer works BUT on confirmation window that appear it stills informs FALSE that the priority fee would be 0.1 BTSX instead the real value!

3). I think it is a little bit dangerous to let the user free to set whatever fee they want on the same page with the "log out time" preference. Assume they type on the "priority fee" something like 9999999 because they thought he typed on the "log out timeout" field.... And after that he makes a transaction where the confirmation window mention the wrong 0.1 BTSX fee.... :P   (what a disaster!)

Probability of missing block is too high now, 3i should improve this. I think the Probability of missing block should be lower than 1/1000000. Or missing less than one block for 50 years will be better for application in industries.

you realize the current software version is 0.3.2? The prob. of missing a block was drastically decreased by the most recent version

When delegate block production is enabled any transaction sent appear as pending in the wallet (yet still goes through), and transactions sent to delegates or non delegate accounts in wallet don't show up at all.

If I disable block production for all delegates and rescan block chain everything goes back to normal.

Is delegate block production not yet supported on windows?

Not sure someone reported or not:

I am using Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and wallet 0.3.0. I cannot quit the wallet normally, anytime I quit the wallet (file/Quit) the wallet always freezes and stops working.
When exporting to json, if I overwrite an existed  json file, wallet also freezes and stops working.

Delegates are not supposed to send transactions because of performance requirements of titan ..

If blockproduction is enabled your client just does not scan transactions .. currently desired restriction .. devs are working on multithreading

Block production is not supported in the GUI and probably never will be.

Thanks.

If there are no plans to support block production in the gui why do you give the user an option to register as a delegate in the GUI?

Is there another benefit to registering as a delegate other than block production potential?

registering as delegate is something different from running a delegate with active block production ..

Further, delegates should be tech savvy enought to run the terminal version and also should be able to register a delegate on the console.

BTW, it's not too difficulr .. just give it try (but be reminded that registering a delegates costs a fee)
