Yes please... an estimate would be great.

remember that the order matching algorithm is different than in what would be expected coming from a normal market. Your whole order will be executed at your ask/bid, not at the price of who you are matching

Ah I see, ...so you cannot crash through multiple bids with one sell order. Thanks.

In my understanding, the COVER button will use the BitUSD you have in your account.  You will have to place a regular order to BUY at the price you want to COVER and THEN use the COVER button once it's bought.

Ah ok. That makes sense. Thanks

I'm probably showing my extreme lack of market savvy here but I can't seem to find the option in the market:

I shorted about 3000 BTSX for $100USD. To make a 10% return on this I need to cover when USD/BTSX is at about $0.38/BTSX. How do I put that in now? Just go long at 0.38 or is there a limit cover order or do I just need to keep an eye on it?

Yes, I am confused about this too.

When you click cover you get "cover" but no price to cover at.
I was expecting something like "buy to cover" at "anyNumberBTSX"

Buying an equal long position does not cancel the short (this is a good thing which neutralizes the position) However there seems to be no way to set what price you want to cover at? Am I missing something?
Thanks

See, I would say that the person shorting 2000 bitUSD at 80 cents is annoying, bordering on antisocial. Those people trying desperately to prop up the peg with their $1 orders are heroes. :)

So I noticed a lot of those one dollar orders just disappeared.

So is it fair to say maintaining the peg has been difficult? Perhaps a growing pain until more users come aboard?

General Discussion / USD : BTSX spread
« on: August 29, 2014, 01:19:00 pm »
I have noticed right now the spread ( meaningful buys, sells, and shorts is roughly 28-32 btsx per USD)

Currently there are a lot of crappy 1 dollar buy orders from 32.7 -down to 30. With the 5% lock you cannot crash through those crappy offers and take them out. This kind of makes it easier to paint the tape and keep the spread artificial? Unless of course you want to take out those small orders 1-5 dollars at a time.

In other words if only 10 USD dollar buy orders exists for an 11.7% spread and you cannot take those bids out on one order. What is the point because the market is not behaving freely.

Whoever has 1 dollar bids to buy USD all the way down the chain is a bit annoying.

General Discussion / new client + comic book icons (robohash.org)
« on: August 21, 2014, 08:39:33 am »
I upgraded to the latest client.

First let me say this is a great product/innovation.

However I am not sure the robohash icons are going to send the right message to serious users. It makes the product feel silly in my opinion. How do I get rid of these annoying icons in the latest release next to my account names?

Thanks in advance

What is this icon bs?  http://robohash.org/ Did I download a legit client from github?

I just updated to 0.4.4

How do I get rid of the "cute" icons that appear next to my account name?

Any help would be appreciated. I do not want these robot icons.

General Discussion / Re: The fees to create new asset is increasing?
« on: July 20, 2014, 10:13:32 am »
A few minutes ago, creating an asset cost me 100BTSX, now it's 246BTSX,  why is that and what's the rule?

BTW, it seems that I can not create any asset, so it's not like Bitshares ME?
Thanks

Now it is 76,700 BTSX to create an asset. Wow that has gone up fast.

Very cool start. I like the default timeout on the wallet,  "1776" in seconds

Just in the last 4 hours I have seen the cost to register an asset go from 20,000 BTSX to 76,000 BTSX. Is this normal?

Great to see this launch btw.
