I don't see a rise in the BitCNY marketcap either.
I do ..
We bought bitCNY through TradeBts.

It's nice to have someone offering this kind of service. Vote for tradebts.gulu!

Okay they just added their huge walls back at a 1% spread... Well, we can still beat them at this if we just get somewhat close. Having those artificial walls means they lose money over time. We just need to educate people that our collateral is more sound, and then get volume and walls going!

edit: aaand it's gone.

I have a feeling people are cashing out of nubits and into other cryptos, and the market makers are running out of collateral to enforce the peg with, so they're wary of putting up the nubits sell wall. If we got BitUSD/BTC running as well we can contribute to the meltdown!

Crossposted to the chinese forum in crappy chinese:

This has to be done as a community effort, this is our chance to finally get an easy way into bitUSD! If you have any BitUSD to spare, put it on the exchange and start market making!

Wondering what you can do to help bitshares up to the 1.0 launch?

Toast has written a market maker bot for BTC/BitUSD on bter.com that Riverhead is now running (possibly others)

https://bter.com/trade/btc_bitusd

Volume is only 10 BTC so far, but notice the spread is around 5%. If you check out NuBits you can see that their spread is more or less the same: https://bter.com/trade/nbt_btc

This is most likely because the "trusted" custodians have lost shitloads of money by getting BTC dumped on them in the last crash, so they have widened their spread in an attempt to make money so they'll  stop being a fractional reserve. This is our moment to steal their market and surpass them as _the_ 1 USD token. All we have to do is to keep our spread lower, and then pump the volume! BTC isn't crashing any more so market making at a small spread will be profitable!

If you want to help BitUSD get adoption then get on bter now and start trading!!! Lets push the volume to at least 100 BTC as soon as possible!

Your BitUSD stays your BitUSD forever, until you put it on the market. The person who is forced to cover will buy someone elses BitUSD and burn them instead to lower the supply. In a black swan event the price will be falling so quickly that there isn't enough BitUSD on the market to cover the amount of BitUSD you originally bought from him. In that case he will buy as much as he can on the market with his collateral and burn it, and then the yield fund will burn the remaining amount. If the yield fund goes dry, BitUSD becomes undercollateralized - what that means is that all future yield will be burned until BitUSD becomes properly collateralized again.

I think there is one legit UIA called BITVPN that will be affected by this. If they're actually trying to develop a product and use our UIA as platform for distributing it then we should be nice to them. Maybe we could change the name to VPN for free in a hard fork. I don't know if they're actually working on anything now and I see no volume, I just saw a couple of posts announcing it.

I'm really looking forward to PLAY. With gateways and bitPLAY on BTS we can bring them lots of exchange volume as BTS increases in popularity.

Wish we can get this as soon as possible. I've been messing around with GATEBTC all day and importing private keys from the bitshares wallet to a bitcoin wallet is not user friendly. We just need something similar on the bitcoin end too... I guess the best option is the public message that blockchain.info can do, does other wallets have that capability too?

the easiest thing would be to go the other way round with the private keys ..
export a private key from one of your accounts and import them to electrum .. your that address to send BTC ..

I've already done that, and it works. But it's a hard sell to get ordinary people to go through with this, they'll have to use the console to get the private key, and have to send bitcoin to themselves and wait for confirmation twice before they can start trading.

Unfortunately with the long transaction scanning it seems like it's the only option... I'm still only halfway after 30 mins :P

I think the import private key would work if you specified an account name.

As for the GATEBTC fee problem I had the same problem, but it worked from the command line.

I will try with specifying an account name. I was able to import a electrum wallet through the GUI without any issues, but then it didn't show the GATEBTC transaction because I guess it's still configured to look for stealth transactions and now has to scan through the entire blockchain before it'll find the transaction :(

298
Seems like it's basically colored coins. I think this is an okay sign for us, if bitcoin exchanges are willing to support this they might also be willing to support market pegged assets in time.

299
I'm glad we're getting temporarily rid of stealth addresses so we can focus on usability and adoption (since stealth addresses are useless without wide adoption anyway). However my wallet is still doing the transaction scanning every time I import a wallet file, and it seems like it has to do this before it'll recognize any funds sent to an imported address, even when they are sent directly to the public key with xchain.info. I can see the transaction on http://xchain.info/ but can't see it in my wallet after I successfully imported the electrum wallet that the BTC was sent from.

Will it be possible to get this to work like bitcoin in time for launch?

While we're at it, the client confuses the BTS fee with a GATEBTC fee, so it won't let me send GATEBTC if I don't have at least 0.5 in the wallet. I guess this is a general problem with UIA's that you're already aware of but I just wanted to show it.
