Title: Share Dropping via ShareBits
Post by: hybridd on November 30, 2015, 11:28:00 pm
Share dropping is now possible by depositing the amounts you would like to drop, and specifying what asset to drop on.
It's even possible to drop BTS on asset holders. Check out the share drop page over on http://sharebits.io/ it's never been so easy. This service is powered by @roadscape 's cryptofresh website to determine balances and who the asset holders are.

e.g. of a receipt (share dropped 750 SMILE on BEARHUG holders)
Quote
#sharedrop "thera" 6 SMILE (TXID="dac45d40a01a1618e001b80dd15d29296c743df8")
#sharedrop "sharebear" 743 SMILE (TXID="fe5857afc8051873242c3f9031dd6d140cd194b8")

Please contact us if you run into any issues using this service.

Things to keep in mind:
The balances pulled via CryptoFresh do not account for open-trades the user may have (i.e. selling the asset)
This service has had limited testing, it's highly reccomended if you're going to do a large drop, you contact me first
Have fun sharing ;)
The fee is calculated based on how many people need to receive a drop, more people = more transactions = higher fee

does it assume your forum name is the same as the BTS account you hold your funds on?

No, this fixes the issue (afaict) mine had doing it manually.

The only plus to doing a sharedrop the way I did is that you avoid ALL fees. ;)

But, then everyone has to go register their BTS account name as a forum name before anyone else does.  :-\

No. First it queries all the asset holders and builds a list, lets suppose you're looking up the asset "XASSET", and there's 3 people who hold this, we first build a quote, which looks like this:
[["persona", 100], ["personb", 200], ["personc", 150]]

where these are their bts accounts not you're forum accounts.

Then lets say, we want to drop 1000 YASSET on these holders,  the way we calculate this is determining the %-holding of each user. First we compute S the total sum of all the assets:
S = 100+200+150 = 450

So now we can determine the amount of YASSET they should get,

persona = 1000 YASSET * (100/450)
personb = 1000 YASSET * (200/450)
personc = 1000 YASSET * (140/450)

this is sent out as an actual transaction (transfer2) meaning there is a fee per each transaction (we estimate, or at least charge 45 BTS per tx).

When you share drop, via sharebits, you're sending funds directly to the asset holders' BTS accounts.

Great news !  8)

When you share drop, via sharebits, you're sending funds directly to the asset holders' BTS accounts.
If you sharedrop on ASSETX, does it work with the ASSETX currently in sharebits account ?
eg: I sharedrop on brownies.pts holders, does the brownies.pts in my sharebits account allow me to earn from this sharedrop ?

No, and this is important that you know this. Sharebits has no correlation between forum account <-> BTS wallet. The system only considers what people hold in their real wallets, not what is held by sharebits.

If I ShareDrop on an Asset like BROWNIE.PTS and my drop Amout is 1. Dose each BROWNIE.PTS get 1 of my Assets, or is the 1 ShareDrop devided amount the BROWNIE.PTS?

1 gets divided among the asset holders based on their stake (%-holding determined via cryptofresh) of the asset you're dropping on.

Thanks. That makes it easy to figure out.

Thought I jumped to every hope to do a share drop, but I got another one. "ERROR: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
