I know our CNO, who's currently being paid 56MMC every 2 hours is working on a pool. There seems to be a few other efforts ongoing too.

Ah cool, yes that is what I meant :)....so I guess if he is first he will resive the bounty on top of it :P :D...quite a well paid job :)

General Discussion / Idea for fighting botnets

I like the Idea of 6 month block maturing. Though I think 3 month would be also sufficient...
Only problem I see, this would not keep botnets from mining, but I think I may have a solution for that, though not sure if it will work.
Could we prevent botnets from running if we would implement a captcha in the client? So that every time you start mining you have to solve a captcha...I guess that would stop botnets :)
What do you think about that?

Well, because last time the difficulty adjusted, the price went from 0.003-4 to 0.008-9...
Difficulty will again adjust today (and again the difficulty will jump about x5 up), so if I sell now I take the risk of not being able to re-buy before the price shoots up, so I give people the chance to buy before the difficulty adjustment and will take the risk of not being able to re-buy....and that's why I am a bit above average ;)

The miner doesn't support solo mining.


Also I have some news. Orphan detection was massively delayed because of the high block rate, I rewrote the code for it and now it works almost immediate. However, everyone will notice a drop in their unconfirmed since so many blocks got marked as orphan all at once. In other words, I fixed a bug that caused unconfirmed to be higher than it actually is.

The orphan rate on the pool is quite high right now but it should go to nearly zero when the next difficulty adjustment happens.

Thanks for leting us know :) Was just about to complayn that I lost some PTS  :D

This miner is great! I am mining with 130-140 collisions/min !
While I only get 20 colisions/min on the miner integratet in the client!
