These newsletters are meant to be down and dirty summaries of what's happening in the community marketing forum Nullstreet. The formatting is ugly, the material is direct. Community Marketing Newsletter Nov 25
Success on NullstreetOn November 19, 2014, 11:34:25 PM, MeTHodX made a post about creating an invite only marketing forum that would focus all our attention on executing marketing goals.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11532.0In less than 5 days, the forum already has 613 posts, 80 conversations and 84 total members. In the short time the forum has been live, we've made big steps in social media to advertising. We have members of the official marketing team in the forums to also help with projects and verify we're not overlapping.
Beyond BitcoinIf you haven't been keeping up with Beyond Bitcoin, you're missing out on an important piece of our community. Beyond Bitcoin hosts a series of live Mumble sessions with different members that shape the Bitshares ecosystem.
One of my favorite Mumble sessions is every Friday at 11pm EST. Bytemaster spends an hour updating us on progress and answering questions. This is your opportunity to get directly involved with the development of Bitshares.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?board=58.0https://twitter.com/Beyond_BitcoinBitmarket's Bitshares BookBitmarket is writing a book about Bitshares. He's not new to the world of writing, he's produced a book for Bitcoin in early 2013.

Donkeypong is also not a stranger to the writing process. Donkeypong has written 2 books that found publishers and about ten shorter length e-books for the Amazon Kindle platform.
Bitmarket and Donkeypong have been bouncing ideas off each other in the forum.
TwitterYou might have noticed the official Bitshares twitter is kicking out more frequent updates. The community marketing team is sending tweets their way throughout the day to help build our following. The community marketing team also listed their twitter accounts in a thread to help coordinate marketing efforts.
Our next step will be a new thunderclap campaign.
https://www.thunderclap.it/aboutVotingThere's still some confusion on how to use the voting option. MeTHoDx created a tutorial.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11663.0MeTHoDx is campaigning for a 100% delegate. I recommend reading over his platform and giving your support. Look what he's helped put together in less than 5 days, imagine what we could do with the right funding.
Toast recently posted the process will be improved in the next release.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11689.msg153924#msg153924CME Virtual ConferenceRobrigo informed us about the CME Virtual Conference.
http://www.cryptomoneyexpo.com/expos/inv2 If a BitShares pitch is submitted by @bitmarket then the cost to register goes from 2 BTC down to 1 BTC.
ListsIn anticipation for the big 1.0 client push, the community marketing team is developing lists of contact information for each of the upcoming markets.
VCs that have invested in Bitcoin
Writers that have written about Bitcoin
Crypto Twitter addresses
Meetup groups that will filter into webcasts and AMAs
Skillsets
Podcasts
The lists are daily tasks that continue to grow a little more each day.
Referral ProgramThere's been an active discussion of different ways to present a referral program with Bitshares. Valzav has an idea on how to accomplish the referral program without turning off TITAN or requiring a new DAC.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11356SEOmatt608 has volunteered to do a deep dive into our current SEO. He laid out a detailed outline for offsite and onsite optimization along with steps on how to execute the plan. Matt608 has prior professional experience with SEO, Cass has volunteered to share GA access.
OpenBazaar The upcoming changes in 0.4.25 takes us closer to being able to work with OpenBazaar. Toast mentioned OB is asking us to submit a pull request. Toast also stated that "We need a solid python *web* dev who doesn't necessarily need tons of blockchain tech / c++ experience."
MeTHoDx plans on reaching out to his OB contacts.
Reddit Tipping AdsToast offered his assistance if someone is willing to attempt to create the Twitter and Reddit bot.
https://github.com/vindimy/altcointip/releasesMeTHoDx proposed the idea and Riverhead has volunteered to work on it next week.
Coinmarketcap AdsOn November 22, MeTHoDx reached out to CoinMarketCap to get information about their banner programs. Marketing community members have been offering input and resources ranging from the design to the actual copy.
There's also discussion about how to fund it. OnceUponaTime is offering to help fund the initiative.
Nonuser bitUSDBitmarket "When paypal started you could send money to an email address even that email address was not a user of paypal. Paypal would harrass them and say... you have money... come get it. Is there a way for a third party to offer this? The third party would also need to return the funds if the user never showed up? "
Bitmarket "I am not sure it is technically possible."
Valzav "Technically in order to send funds to email address, you need to have a faucet/proof of person website that let's users to login via OAuth using their Twitter, Facebook or G+ accounts and is able to generate coupons.
So in order to send e.g. 10 BitUSD to an email, you need to create your faucet account, fund it with 10 BitUSD, generate 10 BitUSD coupon and send it to email address, the receiver would need to login to faucet and redeem coupon, this scheme is not much different from this referral program"
Bitshares VideosBitmarket "Hey guys, I forgot to mention... this is the first draft script for the animated video on the What is bitUSD page. people will arrive here after clicking on a "What is bitUSD" link on a merchant checkout page offering them discounts to pay in bitUSD"
Long term Plans for the WikiToast "I control wiki.bitshares.org currently but I'm not taking care of it."
Gamey "It is one of those things though that anyone can work on. If everyone agreed to work on it for 30 minutes an hour it could be improved greatly. If we could get a list of volunteers then we have an idea of how many people interested. then chop it up into sections. Xeroc has actually been fixing it up a lot lately.
If anyone wants an account get in touch with me.."
WhitepapersThe need for whitepapers was recently brought back up after someone posted a link to Ripple's papers archive.
https://forum.ripple.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4301Bytemaster posted a draft of BitShares Market Pegged Assets by Agent86.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11674.msg153808#msg153808Cass, with help from community marketing, outlined a list of whitepapers that would eventually be needed.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11674.msg153735#msg153735Chinese MarketingWe've been reaching out to the Chinese community to better understand their challenges and develop ways to better communicate across initiatives. Thank you to cn-members for helping us bridge the gap. In the coming weeks, you should see this communication continue to improve.
Welcome BackThe welcome back push will begin closer to the Imagine contest.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11530.msg151923#msg151923Scoop.itGraffenwalder "But scoop.it , allows you to make a magazine like page, and allows embedding of YouTube and soundcloud. So integrating the latest interviews and mumble sessions are no problem.
The real value of this is SEO, for scooped items. And also as time goes on, it will become a sort of archive, wich allows for easy searching of old articles, video's...."
One Initiative and Marketing PlanMeTHoDx requested everyone in the community marketing board to brainstorm on all areas that affect our marketing. Once a few days of posts were made, he made a followup request for each member to outline 1 project they want to focus on in the 1 Initiative thread.
Seoul December 12-13, 2014 Bitcoin ConferenceWe can't have our core marketing and development team at every Bitcoin Conference. We should make every attempt to have a presence at each one. Robrigo is reaching out to ClayOP who has already showed interest in promoting Korean adoption of Bitshares. The community marketing team will do our best to reach out to the community before each Bitcoin Conference.
http://insidebitcoins.com/seoulIRCCome join the discussion over at our IRC channels:
http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/IRCAs we continue to expand our community marketing efforts, being able to quickly organize through tools such as IRC will become critical.
