Can somebody confirm that the snapshot has happened at block 0000001810185022d2b496e2ae59368b1e6fbc40dc82a77e79b90630dfcf89f6? bytemaster's statement on the matter would be appreciated

we won't know for sure for at least 1 or 2 more hours.
"A timestamp is accepted as valid if it is greater than the median timestamp of previous 11 blocks, and less than the network-adjusted time + 2 hours. "Network-adjusted time" is the median of the timestamps returned by all nodes connected to you."

Are we there yet?

Is it done? plz @bytemaster reply

it looks like this is it:
https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Blocks/0000001810185022d2b496e2ae59368b1e6fbc40dc82a77e79b90630dfcf89f6
but it doesn't matter since the whole block chain is saved, there is nothing to do to "take a snapshot." Since there is no software yet, the actual genesis block won't need to exist for some time.

What people are asking for is an Official Announcement that it has occurred.
This should be an exciting event that is advertised positively through official channels.
(For example, a positive twitter, a website update, a forum sticky, and a reddit forum announcement.)
-
Wait, what - so that's it? Snapshot is taken and I can move my PTS around?
-
All information is easily accessible and investors have been made aware. Developers are busier than ever and may not have the luxury to trawl forums answering questions.
Keep your PTS in local wallets until at least 2nd march 2014

Not really; you should be fine moving them out now.
-
I'd also like to know when the block snapshot actually happened, that shouldn't be a secret, right?

There's no magic snapshot button guys, just a date in the blockchain...

The fact that everyone is racing to liquidate PTS signifies to me a lack of faith in future DAC's, and thus the BTS concept overall.
I'm fairly disgusted, frankly.

Or a transfer of value from pts to bts. I would have been concerned if there was no drop. If you are disgusted, go buy some cheap pts! I didn't sell since I donated them all, but I do not fault anyone for selling

That's just the market, don't let it get to you.

Did you miss the "watch out for falling PTS" video?
PTS right now is priced at right around what it was before the snapshot date announcement. Everything seems to be going exactly as expected.
edit: I see it is actually cheaper in $$ but about the same in BTC.

In fact every block in the blockchain represents a new "snapshot" showing all the changes since the last snapshot. In effect, the snapshot took itself and is now sitting there in the blockchain for all to inspect.

That's not how it works. Everyone expects everyone else to sell, and so they sell, without regard for their own optimism about the future value of PTS. In fact, the peolpe who believe in the future value of PTS will profit greatly from this fall as they are comfortable with buying up the panic of people who don't understand the underlying value of PTS.
