Code: [Select]

The following Boost libraries could not be found:

          boost_unit_test_framework
          boost_locale
          boost_coroutine

Some (but not all) of the required Boost libraries were found.  You may
need to install these additional Boost libraries.  Alternatively, set
BOOST_LIBRARYDIR to the directory containing Boost libraries or BOOST_ROOT
  to the location of Boost.

Now what? Is it really that hard to write a proper documentation for this?

The documentation is obviously flawed. How are we supposed to trust the code, then?

I still want to install a witness node. Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, I did "git submodule update --init --recursive" and it now gives an error about Boost. Let me play with it a bit more.

Running a server on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, trying to build my own chain, following the instructions I find here: http://docs.bitshares.org/testnet/1-install.html

Installed gcc-4.9 and Boost 1.57 to avoid confusion.

Here's what I have.

Code: [Select]
root@ubuntu:~/bitshares-2# cmake -DBOOST_ROOT="$BOOST_ROOT" -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release .
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:37 (include):
include could not find load file:

    GetGitRevisionDescription

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:38 (get_git_head_revision):
  Unknown CMake command "get_git_head_revision".

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
See also "/root/bitshares-2/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log".
See also "/root/bitshares-2/CMakeFiles/CMakeError.log".

Any updated tutorial or any info on how to get rid of this RevisionDescription thing?

General Discussion / Re: Cloning Bitshares 1.x

Thank you! That is only to have fun, actually. So bugs are no problem.

By the way, is there a way to clone the Graphene version that easily? Creating a private testnet counts? In that case, can I distribute my wallet to a few friends to enjoy our own Bitshares?

Anyone to help me play with my own Bitshares 1.x copy? Where to find it, how to do it, any instruction welcome.

What company are you working for? Any website, contacts?

You will be using your own USD asset, backed by USD you control, how do you plan on making this a transparent process so people can trust you? You can just create USD and dump on everyone at will

I would prefer hearing solutions rather than questions. Your concerns may easily be sorted out by getting licensed as a financial services company in an offshore jurisdiction, which costs a 6-figure sum.

Hi,

I need an HR manager partner who is experienced in the ecosystem.

What we will do is basically to provide our own wallet software in which the clients benefit our services based on Bitshares. We will facilitate company IPOs and project ICOs, list them in the decentralized exchange upon working on legal filings, and also provide advisory services for investors so that they will choose from our selection of the IPOs and ICOs.

We will have our own USD-asset backed by real USD in our bank accounts. All the shares we facilitate to list will be traded against our USD-asset. We won't charge businesses or projects for our services, but will ask for percentage partnership in their equity. Also, our professional investment advisory services will be worth a commission for the clients.

The interested may PM me a paragraph describing his/her plan to realize this business idea, with a resume attached.
