BitShares PTS / Re: Coyote Pool 2.0 - One Day Rounds Proportional Payout
« on: December 01, 2013, 06:56:20 pm »
W00T, payout received ... at last.... one PTS ....

So much effort for only just one .... lucky me, I don't have to do anything except sit back and enjoy the taught of my free EC2 instances running by themselves ...  :P

The minimum price for a spot instance is dependent on the number of spot request they are currently receiving ... check in the other region and check TheStorm's comment.

You better set your spot max price between 0.15 and + above the minimum if you want to have time to mine ...

I strongly believe that the market value of PTS is in fact gonna sky rocket soon enough ... I don't mind paying between 2 to 8 $ a day to mine ... it's called an investment.

two instance of c1.xlarge costs me 0.15/hour for now with a spot instance and are giving me 0.04 PTS per hour/hour and a half ... I'm not even losing money yet. And with the 100 $ from amazon, I'm making enough profit to compensate for a week or so of paying from my pocket ...

Definitely worth it. If you are not willing to risk something, you will never have a chance to be rich.

I had the spot request for 24h ... after that, I keep getting this message in the log when I try to spot it : Your Spot request with price 0.51 was not fulfilled as the number of Spot requests with equal or higher prices exceeds the available capacity in this pool. ...

damb it ...

Just to let you know guys, the spot instance for a c3.4xlarge in South East asia  (Sydney) is only at 0.22 ... quite a bargain.

@recci: try these command line : http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=722.0

bitshirehashaway says it's for Debian, but it was running ok on my EC2 spot instance running Ubuntu 13 x64

Good luck !

Give us a screenshot of the error ... and also check you firewall to see if you don't have a freak rule blocking it.

@xolokram

Thanks ! Rough test showed an improved sh/m and c/m with 512mb.

512mb : 115 c/m + 5 sh/m
1024 mb: 113 c/m + 3.5 sh/m
4096 mb: 95.3 c/m + 3.2 sh/m

N00b question here, which is the most important, c/m or sh/m ?

I'm now testing how many thread I can put on without  slowing down my alienware too much ... 12 thread at 512mb seem to do it ...

Let see if my laptop catches fire during the night ...

Hawesome ... lot of great work here ...

Has there been a benchmark on the most optimal combination of thread vs memory allocated ? I'm currently mining at 5 thread with 4 GB each (I have 32 GB on my beast of alienware). For the moment each workers seem to pop-out 97 C/m on average.

Could I have a better yield with another config ?

Thx.
