Title: unable to create account
Post by: seriouslylost on March 05, 2016, 07:44:18 am
hi,

complete noob - but unable to create account.

step.1 create account.
I type in a account name that bitshare accepts.
I click "create account"

step 2.bitshares 2.0 (https://os.merkabahnk.io/#/create-account) asks me for password to unlock wallet. (should I not specify a password for the new account first?)
I type in password.

step 3: bitshares say password is false.

what do I do wrong?

The first time you went to that server it must have asked you for an account name and for a password (twice). That's where your password was defined.
If you now go there again and create another account you must re-enter the password.

Alternatively, create on the "Settings" cogwheel at the top, then on "Wallet management console" at the bottom, then on "New Wallet". This will create a new wallet with a new password. Use that password to create accounts in the new wallet.

(You have have several wallets in a browser. Each wallet is protected by its own password and can contain several accounts.)

OP: if it says you need to unlock your wallet, there should be already a wallet created (maybe by you) before. You need to remember the password. Alternatively you can try the methods above to create a new wallet, then create new account inside the new wallet.

A bit off-topic, but I think the "https://os.merkabahnk.io/#/create-account" website is interesting. Who is operating it?

Since DAI and MKR are the default trading assets in the dex .. I'd assume that this is part of @Rune's Maker ecosystem
