Great Post!  I would like to send you a 1 PTS TIP from the Angel fund for this initiative once we have the accounting system set up.   Contact me at that time to remind me and I will make it so!

Roger that, it will also keep me motivated to update this.

If anyone wants to help me, please post a Q&A.

Otherwise, if you have a question, just ask.

What are AngelShares?
AngelShares are a way to direct resources currently wasted on mining equipment and electricity and direct them into helping the crypto-equity industry grow.

Quote
How many AngelShares will there be?
10,000 AGS * 200 days = 2,000,000

Quote
What can I do with AngelShares?
AngelShares will get you a stake in all DACs created and sponsored by Invictus and other teams who use their code.

Quote
When does the AngelShares auction start?
January 1 2014: All donations sent to the AGS addresses before the new year will be included in the first day.

Quote
Are AngelShares transferrable?
No, they are non-transferrable.

Quote
Can I donate from a multi-address PTS/BTC wallet?
Yes, we have to tools to import all keys from your PTS and BTS wallets.

Quote
What time zone is the AngelShares auction on?
GMT

Quote
What happens when I send a donation?
Donations are logged in the public block chain to be referenced every time a new DAC is released. AngelShares are for longterm investments.

Quote
Can I send donations from an exchange?
No, you have to have control over your private keys for the addresses you donate from.

Quote
Will AGS be sent to me?
No. Shares are abstract in nature and not something transferrable.  They will result in your Private Keys being given balances in BTS when launched.   Every time we spend from the address we will document the purpose of the transfer.  We are working on that system now, until then we are not touching the funds.

Quote
How many confirmations does each transaction need to have before the day's deadline?
The timestamp in the block is all that matters.

Quote
How can I track the donations to the pools each day until launch?
PTS pool https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Addresses/PaNGELmZgzRQCKeEKM6ifgTqNkC4ceiAWw
BTC pool https://coinplorer.com/BTC/Addresses/1ANGELwQwWxMmbdaSWhWLqBEtPTkWb8uDc

Quote
What happens if only one person sends a donation?
If one person sent 1 donation, either AGS or BTC, and they were the only person to make a donation, they would receive the 5000 AGS for that day.

Quote
What happens if no one donates?
I don't know. It will probably never happen.

Quote
Who profits from AngelShares?
Everyone! 100% of the proceeds go to growing the crypto-equity industry. Zero percent  will be retained as profits by Invictus. Funds will be used to encourage new developers with salaries, grants, contracts, and bounties to build everything from small components to entire new DACs.  They will be used provide a free high-quality Developer's Toolkit giving DAC developers a huge head start.  They will be used for advertisements, conferences, promotions and give-aways to stimulate interest in the new industry and to provide opportunities for everyone to contribute.  They will be used for legal advocacy for the ecosystem in many jurisdictions.  Anything that we believe will grow the value of ProtoShares and all DACs that honor the contributions of ProtoShares and AngelShares holders.

What if I have a lot of cash or BTC to invest?
Contact Invictus

Ok read the entire thread unfortunatly with much confusion. I have bought PTS on cryptsy and moved them to my offline wallet. How are BT shares now distributed. How do you know they are there?

Don't worry. It's actually not that difficult, and when the time is near, there will be some instructions on the site.

thanks were do I add the nodes?

The PTS client has a debug window, which can be found under the help menu. After that, you can go to the console, found next the the information tab. From there, you can add new nodes.

Looking good, I hope you keep expanding it. I guess a nice addition (speaking for myself) would be to explain how to setup a DAC in a real world scenario. Maybe you can just call it company x for demo purposes. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the encouragement! When you say
Quote
setup a DAC
do you mean from a non-technical perspective? I definitely will add some examples of what DACs can do. But for a more technical explanation, I am hoping someone will volunteer to add this component to the wiki.

General Discussion / Help build the DAC wiki
« on: December 26, 2013, 02:43:38 am »
Hello,

I just started dac-wiki.org and was hoping others would want to contribute. Although I one day hope it will be a wiki about all things DAC, the more pressing issue is to help people new to the community get up to speed with what a DAC is. I will try to add a multilanguage plugin soon. Other than that, feel free to voice any concerns or ideas. The site is currently open to anyone to modify. For any major changes, please use the forum to discuss it first. But if you see a typo or a sentence you think you can word better, go for it.

Thanks :D

Well the title says it all, I'm glad I stumbled upon this great community and I wish everyone happy holidays and an awesome 2014! I've never seen so many groundbreaking ideas coming from one community and I think if everyone contributes to these ideas in any possible way this thing is gonna hit big next year. Cheers and drink responsibly  8)

Happy Holidays! Next year should be fun, for sure!

BitShares PTS / Re: [Megabounty Thread] Help Us Write the Protoshares Copy
« on: December 24, 2013, 11:36:26 am »
I would like to replace Corporation with Company

Company: a commercial business.
Corporation: a company or group of people authorized to act as a single entity (legally a person) and recognized as such in law.

Was this just a passing thought? I'm giving you final say before I make the DAC wiki public.

Thank you once again

Managed to open the wallet , Encrypted it but how can I see if it is encrypted or not? A safety copy should that be made up on USB ?

Wil try to get a small part of a protoshare to see if it works

Merry Christmas by the way

You don't need the passcode until you send PTS. You can put the backups anywhere. I have three. You can even put your wallet on paper! It is scary at first, I know. You can test it with a little amount, it will make you feel better. You should also try to put your wallet on another computer too. There's a how-to post on the forum about transferring your wallet.dat.
Merry Xmas

I think this could be very helpful.   Making it sticky.

Can you post the skills it takes to be a DAC developer? I have people in the trenches of my city looking for talent.

It takes time to sign up for a BTC exchange. It took me a week. So you can take your time and read through the forum.
