How much do you want to raise for your projects?
How much do you want to raise for your projects?
Yep, this wasn't mentioned I believe. 10k, 20k?
How many devs are there and what are their qualifications? I need to know job history and academic history before investing. I would also like to see a portfolio of past work.

That 50K number came directly from Odoo. The moment our module is integrated, all of those businesses will be able to use it in their existing systems. The architecture and design has been laid out, what features will go where, looping (future-proofing) through the smartcoins and uia's that the odoo user even needs to see (ie: the user would not need to offer the customer the AAAAAA asset at the cash register) etc, now we just need the money to pay the Devs who will build this. It took us about 3 weeks just to get the firm bid proposal from them. It is mainly python code too so I was able to get a really good deal on the labor charges. We can have the POS into beta stage in less than 2 months if we can just secure the funding.
So you will be working with a consulting firm for the integration? Can you provide the name of the firm and some projects that they have completed? Will they be paid in fiat or will they also receive open pos?

Thanx bitacer! Like I mentioned, I'll try to upload a video for you guys next week too so you can see the flow, the react language abilities and such. I'll just record it with my wife's camera or something.
The OPENPOS price is going up daily guys, so contact @Chris4210X to get in early if you can. Just like Obits, the OPENPOS token comes with cashflow rewards as well. I just bought some today myself.
Thanx guys!Thanks
All buy orders to his email or pm will reserve the day's lowest price for you, so please make sure you tell him how much you want to invest. I just sms' d him too. He has family in town so I know he is checking messages every few hours or so though. Thanx @abit and @38PTSWarrior :)
You wrote "Funds are sent directly to the merchant's BitShares account (required)" ;
My only concern is if merchants will be receptive to this idea since they will need to receive payments to their bitshares accounts, and that seems to be a problem in terms tax requirements. Over here where I am from every purchase I make there is VAT included and that tax has nothing to do with the merchant but tax authorities require merchants to hand over those taxes to the Internal Revenue Service. Hence , the merchant in this case acts as an intermediary tax collector. Now, as merchants probably purchase inputs using fiat money receiving cryptocurrency as a payment might complicate their accounting procedure in terms of taxes. I would like to hear how this will be solved. It seems to me that for the time being there is a need for an intermediary entity acting as the payer- like a teller serving the bitshares ecosystem. Ken ?
Market fee 2%
Imo the Market fee of OPENPOS is a bit too high.QuoteMarket fee 2%
3. Is a POS for bts the key for stores to accept bts? Not actually. The key is a good commercial team to persuade corporations to do so.
No complex software is involved, the key secret is how BitoEX persuade Famiymart to do so.
Imo the Market fee of OPENPOS is a bit too high.QuoteMarket fee 2%
Isn't the fee for payment terminals or whatever their called, like 3%? I understand you have a business but the difference might not be worth it for merchants.
Quote3. Is a POS for bts the key for stores to accept bts? Not actually. The key is a good commercial team to persuade corporations to do so.
This is not a POS for BTS. Merchants will never accept BTS. They will accept bitUSD, bitEUR etc, or issue their own tokens. Bitshares != BTS.
Yes, the Smartcoin POS can handle regular debit and credit cards PLUS all major Smartcoins ranging from BitShares, Bitcoin to Doge and Litecoin. Most Bitcoins POS where not successful due to BTC price volatility. I am convinced we can change that with BitShares Smartcoins.
Merchants can also issue their own tokens, like a giftcards, in few seconds. Think about it. A token fully baked by business. Customer preloads bitshares wallet with merchant's token, then shop with discount. A win situation for both, merchant and customer.
No complex software is involved, the key secret is how BitoEX persuade Famiymart to do so.
Let the competition do the persuasion. Over 50K businesses use the Odoo software, businesses like Cox Communications for example (they have millions of customers). Instead of trying to convince 1 corporation, I would rather provide options for 50K hungry businesses all at once, some whom of which are competing with each other. Hence, we kill 50K birds with 1 stone (in a sense).
You cannot have the man power to convince 50k corporations, hence it is not like kill 50k birds with one stone, it is actually sit and wait 50k birds die naturally.
Hi,
Since I were not able to find BitShares-Munich as registered Company it seems like you are doing this fundraiser as private individuals?!
If you are doing it as private individual I wonder if the 19k EURO you want to raise are really reliable developer costs or if you just want to stay in the 20k EURO taxfree crowdfunding zone?
Or are you doing the fundraiser as Small Business? Then you would have to pay tax if you raise more than 17.500 EURO?!
If this is a private show how can Chris be the CEO/CMO/CFO of anything?
Why is CCEDK the issuer of the Token and you are "only" the seller?
* What is the difference between creating/issuing the token and just selling it?
I suggest you to create a legal business entity because you are:
* Doing a crowdfund of ~19.000 €
* You are offering a 50% rewarding program which is basically recurring buyback of OPENPOS that is very likely affected by the KWG (http://www.bafin.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/EN/Aufsichtsrecht/dl_kwg_en.pdf)
* You are offering a contract which is at least affected by $312b BGB (http://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_bgb/englisch_bgb.html#p1070)
Wasn't there a call with Winheller from which you wanted to post the results here a while ago?
* I think the whole community would benefit from the knowledge you gained about bitassets and taxes.
Sorry for this littlebit pessimistic post but I fear I would not get back anything in return of my investment when you've found out how big the regulatory issues you'll face really are.
On the other hand you will become my personal heroes if this projects gets through all the regulatory instances successfully.

I would recommend to not use large amounts of funds
Just register a new account with it, and do not use this wallet with more than you can afford to lose.
..until the code has been published and some review could be made!
- How is the f-droid.org integration going? Can we expect to see the app available there soon? (don't forget to brand it as alpha!)
- Has the OPENPOS team considered that having 0 privacy might hinder adoption at the POS ? As privacy concerns mount worldwide, many (not enough, if you ask me >:() people are mindful of location privacy as well. If the same account is always used on the wallet, well then, it's trivial to dig up who this person is, where they have been, and what they've been buying.
The only way I can see to mitigate the point above is sending stealth to the mobile wallet (which probably doesn't even support that yet), and have the wallet also send via stealth transfer to the merchant. What do you think?
The code was published this morning:That's great news!!

We raised a bit more than 8k EUR in the first two weeks. We reached 42% percent of our goal already!! Thanks to the great support of the community.
If we can raise the full 19k EUR in the next couple of days we can have the Smartcoins POS finished by March 2016!!

A recommended markets page is a great idea, maybe @Stan could coordinate that? After the 10th when the OPENPOS token goes live on the dex, we really NEED as much help with marketing as possible. Please. The one is already in OpenLedger, the "favorite markets" page. For you who are developing a mobile wallet, you can have your own page inside the app.
So I have been thinking about investing, but I am concerned with how much bitshares will actually be used by odoo terminals. Is there any data on how many transactions per day in bitcoin are done on odoo? Also, what is the typical profit generated per transaction on odoo? Are there any plans to promote bts use on odoo or is the goal just to get it on the terminals? Also can you break down how the 19k will be spent? Is it licensing fees to odoo or is it more for paying programmers for integration? How difficult is the integration and what are some of the biggest challenges?
What sort of ROI am I going to get on the funds spent on the wallet?
Thanks for the quick reply ken,
So to get this straight:
-the 19k is to develope a module for odoo and a mobile wallet... What sort of ROI am I going to get on the funds spent on the wallet?
-Odoo will not default their applications to support bts. It will be on a per install basis.
-since the main benefit of holding openpos is the fee collection, it is critical to know what the cost per transaction is, or at least what the total fees would be from say 1 month with 100 transactions.
-who gets the other 50% of fees and where are the collected fees stored prior to the buyback?
So we'll get merchants. How about users?
So we'll get merchants. How about users?
Merchants can be the users, immediately converting to bitAssets, however I wouldn't bet much on that. It's awesome they can accept that as a form of payment but for that, someone must be willing to pay using those bitassets. To get people to use them would cost a fortune in marketing and education

I think the mobile wallets will help most with getting more users.
The biggest thing that concerns me is the smartcoins' pegs. But, with btsbots and what Blocktrades is working on right now, I have high hopes that In the coming weeks our smartcoins will get much tighter. I really don't know of any other way to make our smartcoins any better.
Smartcoins and POS go hand in hand IMO, it's the main thing Smartcoins should be used for. Buying stuff and not worrying so much about volatility.

I would not worry about "smart"coin on place of merchant. I would issue my own coin, which is fully backed by my business.

..which the Smartcoins POS supports by default. I have it set so that the code just loops through all of the (active) Smartcoins that have Holders >0 and Feed Price >0 and NOT “Settled” and sort them by name ascending.
In the POS settings, the merchant can also select a UIA that they would like to issue and accept (great for "rewards cards"). We loop through all of the (active) User-Issued Assets (UIA’s) that have Holders >3 and sort them by name ascending. For example:
( ) OPENBTC (asset['options']['description'])
( ) OPENDASH (asset['options']['description'])
( ) MARRIOT.REWARDS (asset['options']['description'])
(x) STARBUCKS.REWARD (Cash in your Starbucks rewards for discounts!)
[ ] STARBUCKS.REWARD for every $[ ] spent (over any timeframe).
This way, each time a customer buys something, the code can automatically issue some of their UIA to the customer after their purchase has been completed. The merchant can set how many to send and base it on amounts spent.
The mobile wallets of course incorporate this into the send and receive screens as you can see.
Please help support the OPENPOS token, I would really like to have these POS systems done by March!
This is an extremely good job, I admit. +5%
To upgrade:
- Download alpha 8 release: http://bitshares-munich.de/bitshares-wallet/BitSharesWallet-v1-alpha8.apk
- Install it right over the top of alpha 7 release
- Write down your Brainkey (in Settings screen) and TRIPLE CHECK you wrote it down correctly!!
- Uninstall the wallet completely (not really necessary, but right now it's the easiest way to clean up unused files)
- Install alpha 8 again from scratch
- Tap on Existing accounts and then tap on the first link in the following screen to type in your brainkey
- Give it a few minutes to sync up and bring in all your balances and transactions
- Done. This week we are doing even more UI work, upgrading the Contacts screen, etc :)

@kenCode
Are you going to release the source code for you mobile wallet?
(sorry if this question has already been answered)
Thanx guys. :)
Question: Ok, so it has come to my attention that the mobile app will suck up over 400MB if left open for 20+ minutes, this is not good. The nice thing is that this is a real-time wallet, no refresh is needed- Watch the block number in the bottom right corner. When someone sends you some money it shows up in the normal 3 seconds. Thing is, that real-time connection is sucking up my data plan! This friday (2 more days) I will be uploading the alpha 9 release and it has the 3 minute auto-close feature working. That will help *limit* data usage, but leaving your mobile wallet open for even 3 minutes might STILL suck up around 60MB grrrr - anybody have any idea why the socket is eating so much data? Is it downloading a frign movie or something? wtf
@svk @valzav @xeroc Any ideas on how I can limit the data usage?

If you're using the websocket connection as is from the witness_node you'll get spammed with loads of object updates that you have no interest in. Your best bet would be to implement a data layer that would filter the objects coming from the witness node and then only send out updates to items that actually interest you.
For some reason on every new block the 2.4.33 or 2.4.34 objects get pushed from the witness_node, and it's a HUGE object containing feed data for every single asset. If you can filter out that you should be fine...
nothing you can do on your end since you have to receive the data before you can filter it ..No there is, what I'm saying is he needs to filter the outgoing data from the witness node using a proxy server. A node websocket server using socket.io should do the trick. He would need to host his own witness_node then obviously.

Sounds like a paid service? So, I would need to have the mobile wallets all connect to one dedicated witness node? Could we just have a few/all of the Witnesses provide this as an option to their service? So, for mobile clients, the Witnesses will only serve up just the filtered stuff? Heck, this might be a great value-add for all Witnesses, no? Many more mobile wallets will be released after our I'm sure. Thoughts?

We got the connection to Blocktrades working tonight so that now all POS systems can also accept Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash and the other top cryptos. This weekend will be doing a lot of UI cleanup. Will get the eReceipts and QR codes going next week and begin the customer/shopper screens:

right, but many more mobile wallets will be released after ours I'm sure.Anyone can run a full node to provide the service you need.
how hard would it be to get the Witnesses to offer this level of service. i could code it so that the mobile wallets send a flag to the Witnesses saying "hey, i'm a mobile device, please filter out the big shit so my data plan isn't exhausted!" thoughts..?
let's encourage some other devs to make mobile wallets too...

For some reason on every new block the 2.4.33 or 2.4.34 objects get pushed from the witness_node, and it's a HUGE object containing feed data for every single asset. If you can filter out that you should be fine...
Anyone can run a full node to provide the service you need.
Responsibilities of "the witnesses" (if you mean the block producers) don't include providing API services to clients for sure. Hosted wallet service provider (E.G. OpenLedger) is most likely to provide such API service.
I see this service a business opportunity.
Sounds like a paid service? Interesting..nothing you can do on your end since you have to receive the data before you can filter it ..No there is, what I'm saying is he needs to filter the outgoing data from the witness node using a proxy server. A node websocket server using socket.io should do the trick. He would need to host his own witness_node then obviously.
Thoughts?
Ken, you quoted my message but didn't understand it imo.it has come to my attention that the mobile app will suck up over 400MB if left open for 20+ minutes, this is not good. Is it downloading a frign movie or something? wtfIf you're using the websocket connection as is from the witness_node you'll get spammed with loads of object updates that you have no interest in. Your best bet would be to implement a data layer that would filter the objects coming from the witness node and then only send out updates to items that actually interest you.

@svk @abit @xeroc @bytemaster As more mobile wallets get out there (well, and regular wallets too), I can see the bandwidth requirements at the Witness nodes going up substantially. Witness pay is low enough as it is, so we'd better address this bandwidth issue sooner than later. Better to fix these issues now rather than wait until thousands of people have their wallets all open at the same time and Witnesses become inaccessible, can't afford to serve it up, etc. Thanx for any attention you can give to this issue soon guys please :)

I would think that most businesses (including my own) have no desire to run a Witness though. Nevermind the need to be tech savvy on it, have the time to manage it, and so on. Business owners other things to worry about.
@bytemaster mentioned that this was "a known issue" in the last mumble, is there any way we can get this issue on the table sooner rather than later? I can't afford to burn through hundreds of Megabytes in my data plan. Please and thanx guys
Ken, how is the f-droid publishing situation going?
Maybe in the version are you to give the app a material design overhaul?
font is too small for phone
Hey, nice job! Put a link to download on front page at bitshares-munich.de.
font is too small for phone
funny, I was just thinking the same thing last night. In v1.1 I will definitely enlarge things a bit and make the layout a bit cleaner. If OPENPOS funds allow, I would like to implement google material design principles too. The screen you are looking at right now is the one that I designed and obviously I am no designer, so I want to get my ui/ux people busy on that.

@kenCode - The important thing is that you have made tremendous progress and the wallet works! As I'm sure you know, having someone polish up the UI is the relatively easy part, but of course will go a long way toward turning this into a very professional looking product that can attract new users and generally have a very additive effect on the ecosystem.
Speaking of the interface, what is your timeline for providing a simple UI for your wallet users to convert BTS to BitAssets and vice versa? I'm thinking something along the lines of coinbase where they enable the user to either a) enter how much bitcoin they want to to buy and then it shows them how much it would cost them at the current price, or b) enter how much they would like to spend on bitcoin, and then it shows them how much bitcoin they can buy with that budget at the current price.
Having such a simplified interface to exchange assets within your mobile wallet would be absolutely killer. Although of course for it to be completely useful to both your wallet users and merchants alike, we need to have A LOT more BitAssets created. With that in mind, what are your thoughts about @Empirical1.2's very interesting ideas to incentivize the creation of large quantities of BitAssets?
We also need to get those block sizes down so the wallet will speed up. Right now it's slow as shit and bugs the hell out of me.

wait, how, no...
It is the 100,000 tps network working at 0.0001tps
no... this is just fud.

THIS IS IT!!
This is the official beta of the BitShares Wallet for Android. I am going to leave the word "beta" on here even though we have not had a single problem with it, even across all the alpha releases, just minor UI stuff which we cleaned up.
I created my AppleID today and enrolled in the Apple Developer Program, paid the 99€ so that we can upload the wallet and get it to the masses (IN 22 LANGUAGES TOO!). I hear it can take a couple of months for them to approve new apps for their app stores but nonetheless, you will now see the BitShares Wallet in the google play, apple, windows and f-droid app stores very soon.
This is the final version that you will see for a while. All of the alphas have worked great, no losses or bugs have been found (but of course only keep funds in a wallet that you can afford to lose). Nonetheless, I think you'll like it, we have not had a single issue.
- If applicable: Write down your Brainkey (in Settings screen) and TRIPLE CHECK you wrote it down correctly!!
- If applicable: Do a fresh Backup to bin file as well.
- If applicable: Uninstall any alpha releases completely (MANDATORY)
- Download the BitShares Wallet: http://bitshares-munich.de/bitshares-wallet/BitSharesWallet-v1.0-beta.apk
- Install it (check out AJ's video! https://youtu.be/lqEJejg-k1I?list=PLjbx3qSmDe7RYkRMIEuFyYyG7_vvKgou0)
- If applicable: Tap on Existing accounts and then tap on the first link in the following screen to type in your brainkey
- Give it a few minutes to sync up (and (if applicable) bring in all your balances and transactions)
- Done.
What's next?
v1.1 will come in a few weeks. We are going to try to improve reading of the (very dense) QR codes, implement a callback feature so that the POS systems are notified the moment a payment is received, implement Rewards Card functionality with the POS systems, the new Overdraft Protection feature will be implemented (in case you don't have enough funds, you can set the wallet to auto-draw from other balances (thanks to Blocktrades!)) and a few more translations, etc.
v1.2 will give you the ability to set preferred API Connection (wss) in App Settings, allow upsizing your account to LTM, and run MUCH faster (right now each block is around 200K I think, eating cpu and bandwidth).
If funds allow (please support the OPENPOS token!)...
v2.0 will implement the Finder screen, local trading, maps api, Meetups api, etc.
v3.0 will implement the basic Exchange screen (will probably use highcharts or metatrader style for mobile)
Please spread the word, this is it!!
Distribute the file, link to it, email it to your friends overseas, Tweet it, host a local Meetup... IT'S TIME!! :D
Great job to kencode and his team. I'm new in the forum and I've been following the development of Bitshares Wallet & POS. This will bring Bitshares to another level. I'm from Montreal (Canada) and I'm planning to start a Bitshares meetup group here in 2 weeks. I found that some stores, small businesses and not for profit organization have Odoo and at times request volunteers at universities to help customize or develop some features using python. I'will be getting in contact with those organization and share the idea of Smartcoins/Crypto payment and get them discover BitShares POS .
This is very exciting! Bitshares platform brings solutions to small businesses. As ByteMaster use to say, it's not about trading, it's about solving real issues small businesses and in people face daily. This is were Bitshares protocol wins. I've gone through it for a while and get to know how businesses can quickly build on it (small business, start-up, NGO, cooperatives etc.). Bitshares blockchain with UIA and Reward base system are well align with cooperative laws here in Quebec. More than 60% of Canadian Co-op companies are base in Quebec province and I'm looking forward to develop strong relationships that would bring some in Bitshares BlockChain.
Great work guys!
Is there a way to confirm the software on Google play is the right one, Made by you? At the moment there is only one but in the future other similar wallets with malicious code could appear. Recently polo had an app there but it was a fake one
Also, on the portuguese translation. Smartcoins is plural, it can be "aceites", bitcoin is singular and should be "aceite" instead of "aceites"
We also need to get those block sizes down so the wallet will speed up. Right now it's slow as shit and bugs the hell out of me.

Hi @pam2 and welcome to BitShares! :)
BitShares Montreal sounds awesome!!! Here are a couple others that are now forming:
http://bitshares.meetup.com - These may give you an idea of how to set yours up. I have a graphics guy that could make your header graphic for the page too if you like, no charge, just let me know.
Thanx for the compliment on the mobile wallet. It is a start, but I have a lot on the roadmap for it over the coming weeks.
As for the Smartcoins POS for Odoo, that is another one of our projects (it is still being funded via the OPENPOS token that you will see in the dex). Odoo is a great Point Of Sale system and we are working on milestone 3 of 5 right now:

The BitShares Wallet is now live in these App Stores:Google Play, Apple App Store, and Windows Phone Store are in progress, they just need to approve the app before they will publish it for download from there, but at least we are now on F-Droid and Aptoide so far..

hey could i get our Android wallet (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.bitsharesmunich.wallet) listed on this page?? https://bitshares.org/download/ - from what i hear, IOS will take a couple of months to be approved by Apple, but at least we can get the android wallet posted there.. not sure who to askThe mobile wallet is a 3rd party software .. I'd be happy to add a link to the bts-munich page and let people know that you have a mobile wallet ..

Do you have a distinct page for it already?

yeah, i'm thinking of changing that, and just stick with the passphrase standard.
keep in mind, mobile wallets should be thought of as hot wallets, don't use a hot wallet for your net worth, just use it for local trades. it's best to register a separate account just for your mobile stuff. mobile wallets are great for meetup groups and soon points of sale too :)
@kenCode unless I missed it somewhere the mobile wallet is not yet available in windows phones right? I can't find anything when I search for the app from my mobile. Do you know when this will be available?
thanks!
QuoteThe connection to the server was unsuccessful. (file:///android_asset/www/index.html)
hmm, looks like a net issue. in v1.2 we are adding a feature in the settings screen that allows you to set a different wss address.
for now, turn off mobile data and just use wifi. we need to see why the connection was unsuccessful.. mobile connection? your local wifi/isp issue? websockets are blocked? a specific port range is blocked? if that doesn't connect you to the network, then this must be something deeper than just your net connection.
In case you want some Smartcoin stickers or window decals, I just received a few in the mail and they look pretty good :)

yeah, i asked them the same thing. they are not crawling the repo. the repo is pushing 1.0.1.
i will email them again later this week if i don't get a reply. I'd say check it again this friday, they will probably update again by then.
The BitShares Wallet v1.0.1 for Android (~25MB) has now been submitted successfully to:The BitShares Wallet v1.0.1 for iOS and Windows Mobile (as you can see above) is in progress, just need to get the brainkey and UI done for those platforms now. We're getting close..

An user complained that unable to transfer more than 1000 BTS with mobile wallet. On the confirmation page, it shows amount = 0.00000.
Rewards card functionality is now done, it works in v1.1 of the mobile wallet, the standalone pos and also Odoo POS. This way when you buy something at a store with your mobile wallet, the merchant can automatically send you some of their chosen/created UIA to reward you based on your purchases at that store. The merchant can also set how much to send, how much can be redeemed and even set amounts that you have to spend to qualify for certain rewards.
Lots of UI work being worked on right now.
The core code for mobile wallet Overdraft Protection is now done too. It allows your wallet to draw from your other desired balances should you not have enough to pay when you are being billed at a store. This will also be released with mobile wallet v1.1 in a few weeks (i know i know i said a couple weeks but I keep cramming more stuff into v1.1, i figured what the hell we might as well make the update worthwhile for as many people as possible).
The ability to spend more than 999 of a given asset or coin has also been fixed.
We have also doubled the speed of QR code reading, as it's taking like 10 seconds right now which will never work at any POS. I think once that "Witness spamming too much data" issue on github is fixed too, that will dramatically speed up the mobile wallets as well, cut down on cpu and bandwidth usage etc.

@kenCode,
You are blowing me away with your productivity and innovation. +1
What features of the blockchain did you use to implement this
... or is it all code in the app on the individual's phone or is some of it on your web server?

The ability to spend more than 999 of a given asset or coin has also been fixed.
We have also doubled the speed of QR code reading, as it's taking like 10 seconds right now which will never work at any POS. I think once that "Witness spamming too much data" issue on github is fixed too, that will dramatically speed up the mobile wallets as well, cut down on cpu and bandwidth usage etc.
@kenCode,
You are blowing me away with your productivity and innovation. +1
What features of the blockchain did you use to implement this
... or is it all code in the app on the individual's phone or is some of it on your web server?
thanx guys
@Stan - all of it. check out my github, we will be committing a buncha more stuff over the coming week too (https://github.com/kenCode-de?tab=repositories). as for the code, everything is run locally so there is no server to trust. we got our new website ready for launch today too, but since it is in 44 languages i want to get a few of the translations finished up before i upload everything and redirect the dns to evennode.

Cool Ken, so safe to say the slowness issue should be resolved around early April?
Last one to go is windows mobile, any updates?
Ken, can you upload binaries to Github, like those in https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-2/releases ?
$106 bar bill, good times. Can't wait to try try the iPhone app.
Yep, this is the first time I have ever "submitted" to Apple so god only knows how long it takes for them to approve an app like this. Amazon just outright rejected it, no cryptocurrency apps there whatsoever. Let's hope Apple plays nice. I've heard that it can take a couple of months for them to approve new apps.Is somewhere a download link for rooted IOS devices? Sorry I didn't find it.

Still no updates on f-droid ken. Que pasa?
Sounds like your team is working on getting it sorted ken, hope to see it working soon!
@kenCode @Chris4210
I received a question on the YouTube "Walk Through" video from Simon Feay and wasn't sure how to correctly answer it, so I'm going to paste it here in hope you could provide an answer.
Thank you!!
Can you tell me (in the app) where is the address for my account. I don't want the qr code to receive bitshares. I just want the actual alphanumeric walled address. Thanks

I just received som BAD news for iOS users. The BitShares Wallet for iOS was denied by Apple.
They denied it because (apparently) it transmits a "virtual currency" that is not approved for the App Store. Secondly, they will not allow our app because it uses encryption to which they do not hold the keys (at least guess this is what they are trying to say).
Anybody have any idea what we should do next? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ken,
I'm kind of confused by this. Did your team read the terms of service prior to working on the iOS App? Getting bitcoin wallets on iOS has been extremely difficult for the last several years and I wouldn't expect a bitshares app to be any easier. Granted coinbase got their app on iOS, but i'm sure they followed the terms. There are some other wallets as well on iOS, so maybe ask Apple why they were allowed in.

If they did it, and our technology in essence works the exact same way (encryption, blockchains, wallet transfers the tokens, etc) then why would they deny us? Yes, it might be difficult for them, but they must have said something or done something to help Apple to see the light.
I have contacted Apple directly via their Appeal process with that exact inquiry. A friendly message just asking what else we should do to get published in the App store just like all the other Bitcoin wallets out there. I will keep posting my progress with them here on the forum..
When it comes to getting approved by Apple, you might consider trying to bill your app more as a Bitcoin app than anything else. Also, why do you need to mention encryption? I would avoid that.

Hello,
We are writing to let you know the results of your appeal for your app, BitShares wallet.
The App Review Board evaluated your app and determined that the original rejection feedback was partially accurate.
Your app is no longer in violation of PLA 2.3.
However, your app is still in violation of:
11.17: Apps may facilitate transmission of approved virtual currencies provided that they do so in compliance with all state and federal laws for the territories in which the app functions
The app facilitates the transmission of a BitShares, which is not approved for the App Store.
Additionally, the following issue was discovered during our evaluation:
2.9: Apps that are “beta”, “demo”, “trial”, or “test” versions will be rejected
The app claims to be in beta. Please remove all references to "beta" from your binary. If you would like to conduct a beta trial for your app, you may wish to review the TestFlight Beta Testing Guide. A screenshot has been attached for your reference.
We hope you will consider making the necessary changes to be in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines and will resubmit your revised binary.
Best regards,
Erin

Hello,
Thank you for your response. At this time BitShares is not an approved currency for the App Store and so the BitShares Wallet app cannot be approved for distribution on the App Store. Should you wish to revise the currency used by the app, you may do so and resubmit.

Hi Erin, thank you again for your time, it is much appreciated :) You are stating that "BitShares is not an approved currency". Bitcoin also was not an approved currency. The token name cannot be changed, that is impossible. Both of these technologies use the blockchain, and both are just tokens upon it. If "BitShares is not an approved currency" yet, then what is the process to get it this additional token approved just like Bitcoin?
Thank you again :)

Is there another way to get apps running on IOS or must they be on their appstore?
I don't have an iPhone, just curious, I prefer Android phones — for various reasons

Smartcoins POS for Odoo now has the rewards card features complete, just need to do some more UI tweaks to it now:

Apple finally called me today, I kept them on the phone for nearly 30 minutes, but alas I could not convince them that the name Bitshares was just a token on a blockchain like Bitcoin, Litecoin, etc. They are standing firm that Bitshares is "not an approved currency", so, I said since we are not able to change the name of our token to anything else and the blockchain cannot be modified, I have asked to speak with the manager of the department so that our tokens can "be approved" by Apple. Awaiting that guy's call next. This sucks man cuz I have another wallet, and the smartcoins pos standalone app that I want to get into the apple app store, so will they deny all 3 now? If I do not get anywhere with this manager guy, then I will have to hire a professional to get our apps into the apple app store.
soooo... Please check out our OPENPOS token....
Thank you for your patience guys, I am doing everything I can to get us in their app store.

ok, so Apple's app store approvals manager just called me. no name given.
Bitshares is not an "approved currency" and will never be looked at until our "market cap is in the tens of millions" he said. Seriously, those were his exact words, verbatim. I said but but but... I see little po-dunk race car games in the app store that will never see a download in their lifetime and yet those are all being approved, I am very curious as to why we have to be valued in the "tens of millions" before we will be "considered".
Honestly guys, I am very sorry, but I have had it with Apple for a while. I have spent way too many hours trying to appease these people and must move on to our other projects. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Hello Ken,
Thanks for your time on the phone today.
As we discussed, your app facilitates the transmission of a virtual currency that is not approved for the App Store. In order for your currency to be considered the market cap would need to be very large.
You may submit an appeal to the App Review Board. Please allow up to one business day for an initial response from the App Review Board.
Please feel free to contact me at +1-408-974-2992 between 8AM-5PM Pacific Daylight Time if you need further clarification.

same old blah blah blah, back to square 1 in other words, a run-around.
Done.I can understand how demoralizing and time consuming this has been with Apple. Thanks for continuing to push it.
I also included the links and info to cryptofresh. Let's see what the big cheese says now, as usual I'll keep you guys filled in.
Hey Ken, great work!
As a potential user, I think there are 3 main features which are a must.
The first is the ability to request or 'recieve' User Issued Asset, currently, it only shows option to request BTS, USD, CNY & EUR.
The second feature is the ability to set a default asset you would like to request (with support for UIA) So you dont have to toggle it every time.
The third feature is the ability to use your finger print instead of a pin for ease of use; I understand there may be some security concern, so it might be an opt in feature rather than a deault option.
Looking forward to the full release, good luck!
Thanks.
Oh, is mine like this cause I have an older version of the app? (got it from the playstore)
While I do agree that further research has to be conducted regarding fingerprint scanning, having to enter a 6 digit pin every time you have to pay for something is definitely not ideal for the end user.
BTW when's the standalone POS app getting released? :)
The new (android-native) Smartcoins Wallet will be done by June 1st. The most complex screen is the send screen since it has to support merchants who have issued you some of their loyalty points (their uia), plus the backup asset (overdraft protection) and the ability to instantly cash out one of your other assets if you want to hold on to the currency that the merchant is requiring from you. Anyway, here is the basic layout of that screen:
Ok, I gave up trying. It can't import my wallet. Each time I ask to import wallet file, nothing happens.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious...but why is there a "From" field on the send screen?
While It is nice having the option to send from multiple accounts, I think it should be an op in option in the settings menu rather than the default. Again this is to save on actual day to day transaction time.
Think DoughWallet (Dogecoin wallet) on IOS, where its simplicity was literally its killer feature!
If there is only one account in wallet, just hide the "from" label and selection?
Maybe I'm missing something obvious...but why is there a "From" field on the send screen?
Because this new wallet will let you import and/create multiple accounts.

Putting the accounts you have created into that nice slim field with the little down area.. I don't think it can get any cleaner than that. Having multiple accounts was a highly requested feature, so using that little down area for something so major keeps it nice and simple IMO. I couldn't think of a better place to keep your access to those accounts other than in a select menu like that. Having to leave the app and go into the settings screen just to switch accounts seemed like it might tick some people off.

btw, whats the status on the "lightning fast" v 1.0 native android wallet?
How would it actually differ from the current app? and will it be open source like the current wallet?
Thanks again!
