I appreciate the project management you're providing.
Here are some thoughts on what i like about our competitors products ..

Video Section

GitHubs screen layout is very nice and easy to interpret. I really like their sidebar menus and use of symbols instead of text.

Graphics to depict wallet distribution and asset distribution is also cool along with the current exchange rates

Use of charts - color coded to show whats appreciating/depreciating

OK, a nice to have buy buying directly from the chart :)

Guys, you created something that was not ever possible before in the history of man kind ,thats why it might be slightly difficult to promote it  :) because it will take some time for people to grasp what bitshares is and what it does. Personally when I look at bitshares I see one thing :

UNITED  GLOBAL BANK !  Which is owned by the participants .

UGB in short . And the gateways act as representatives of different branches. Lets not be too careful or too humble to express it , its time to reveal to the whole world , they do not need private banks any more !  İt is time to step on some toes , be controversial and attract some attention . Lets shout out some big claims .

I wish there was a way to reintroduce interest for those of  us that want to save outside of the banking system. Now that would be huge imo.

I think you are correct, this would be huge. One of the things that started me down this road was interest on bitassets.I mean, where else could you get interest on gold and silver?

I believe there are a lot of people out there who want to use crypto to save to avoid the zero/negative interest rate policy of banks but who are not interested in being day traders. Just savers.

That's no good if the project died. BitShares absolutely must have a decent iPhone app to help compete.

I think the challenge is :

1. To communicate these points effectively  - in the wallet and on the website.
2. Make the UI as easy to use as something like paypal.

Perhaps Peter scoff would be a good person to interview. He is absolutely correct on the economy in my opinion, but is skeptical about Bitcoin. He recently accepted Bitcoin as payment in his firm, but it would be great to hear his take on bitassets. You probably know he was the economic adviser to Ron paul

That where we need to get to. See how good that interface looks. Smart, crisp and professional. If we could try and imitate that I think we'd be golden.

Look at their wallet interface too. Simple yet slick.

Visa Europe has announced it is working on a proof-of-concept for a blockchain-based remittance service.

Created through Visa Europe Collab, the trade organization’s innovation initiative, the proof-of-concept is being built in collaboration with Epiphyte, an enterprise blockchain services firm that recently graduated from San Mateo incubator Boost VC.

Though details on the proof-of-concept were limited, the companies said they are working in a "controlled test environment" that is seeking to simulate real-world remittance transactions.

A press release by Visa Europe Collab indicated the company initiated the project as it believes blockchain technology could have valuable applications in the payment services industry, solving traditional industry pain points as it matures.

Visa Europe Collab innovation partner Jon Downing said in a statement:

"There is a real opportunity to develop an improved remittance service for both the sender and receiver of payments in terms of fees, speed and ease of use."

The news comes amid continued assertions by executives in the traditional remittance industry, such as MoneyGram and Western Union, that digital currencies and blockchain-based systems will not be able to solve problems in the sector.

A membership association that oversees Visa-branded products in European market, Visa Europe was recently purchased by Visa for as much as $23.4bn in cash and stock. Previously, Visa Europe had operated as a separate publicly traded entity.

The proof-of-concept announcement showcases the common ground at the now-united entities, as it follows Visa’s debut of a blockchain-based car leasing concept at the Money20/20 trade show in Las Vegas and its participation in Chain’s $30m Series A funding round, finalized this September.

The Visa Europe proof-of-concept is expected to be completed within two months, according to the company.

Margin trading is the main feature a lot of people are waiting for and lending is perhaps the only way to bring liquidity. Why would someone with 1000 BTC put their 1000 BTC onto Bitshares if nothing can be done with it? It's an opportunity cost not worth it.

On the other hand with 5%-10% interest, or yield, suddenly it makes all the sense in the world.

Exactly, non traders finally have a way of earning money by lending, providing liquidity for traders. Both non traders win and we can attract even more People. I really believe thats what we need

But non of that is obvious or intuitive in the app itself. Even the multi dig screen isn't obvious how to use unless you're following this forum. Everyone talks about the trading screen, but to a non trader like myself, the whole front end isn't intuitive or user friendly. Jump on coin base and it's obvious. I think our front end needs the work and perspective from a user who is not a dev.

My point is that having a lot of experiments going on at once is the only way to do well in this space. Google has a lot of experiments too, and the vast majority fail. Remember Google Wave?

Disagree. Maybe if we had the resources. We don't. Bts are low, lots of community members already lost their patience, etc. It's a luxury to be able to do that. Google can try a milion different things simply because they have a budget and resources for that. BitShares is still crawling and trying to learn how to walk. We have not complete products yet we need to deliver and there are already lots of thing in the pipe line: UI, API, Bond Markets, Predictions Markets, KYC Stuff, get more liquidity, etc. That's a lot to do.

I prefer we work on that first and have something completely rock solid. Something we could FINALLY advertise without letting people disappointed. Something that could make shareholders use BitShares. Something that brings utility which consequently will bring liquidity, business partners, clients, etc

Of course we should always have an open mind regarding new ideas, but we don't have time to waste atm and there's still lots of stuff to be done. First of all, BitShares needs to be a BRAND. Something people heard of and immediately associate with a trading platform. Only then should we relax our breath a little.

^^^^^^^ very well said sir.  It's the unfinished beta nature of the product so far that has tested people's faith. We see it time and again - usability problems. If we're going to compete with, coin base for example, then we have to have a front end, website, documentation, iPhone app like theirs and it needs to just work.
We have such fantastic technology. We just need to get it finished and there's no reason this can't win.

Personally I find this really frustrating. Every single time we get overlooked. If it's because we still don't have a complete and finished product that just works for the average joe, like you suggest, then we're not doing ourselves any favors. I'm going to give us another 6 months to get a finished and polished product to market with this worker proposal.
My 2 cents
