wow this is broad question but let me try.

bitcoin is like you get on an armored van with a single gold coin in the vault to go buy a burger.
litecoin is the same shit except the van is kinda lighter and faster
ethereum is like trying to go to the moon with a calculator and a compass.

In a video published on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the operation of traditional banks will eventually become obsolete and could be replaced by Bitcoin. He based his claim on the trustless nature of Blockchain technology and on Bitcoin’s continuous, notable growth this year. You can follow Bitcoin with binary options account (https://alpari.com/en/binary_options/), As far as bitcoin will go this year I guess that above $ 20,000 USD

Just to put things in perspective - there are A LOT more crypto coins than bitcoin and ethereum - there are over 1400 launched cryptos at the moment and probably something around 1000 in ICO. But Bitcoin is the most successful for now mainly because it was the first and has a major technical advantage over other coins IMO.

A very wide question indeed  :D Thanks there are some people who know the subject well  ;)
I am quite new to bitcoins, but it looks like it is really taking a serious position in the market, thinking of investing myself. The other day I read that now they even close property buy/sell contracts with bitcoins https://tranio.com/world/analytics/how-the-blockchain-and-distributed-ledgers-will-transform-the-real-estate-market_5405/ (https://tranio.com/world/analytics/how-the-blockchain-and-distributed-ledgers-will-transform-the-real-estate-market_5405/) and this is just a "beginning". Well, we will see in a couple of months, everything changes so fast.
