It's always exciting when your coin gets listed on an exchange.
Imagine what its like when an exchange gets listed on your coin!
Today at a Bitcoin conference in Denmark, at this very moment, Ronny Boesing is announcing just that.
Cryptonomex, Bit-X, and CCEDK are announcing a new partnership that will change everything in the crypto industry.
Here's Ronny's Press Release and our Big BitShares Bulletin of the Week:
Danish Firm Set to Revolutionize the Cryptocurrency Industry (https://bitshares.org/blog/2015/06/16/danish-firm-set-to-revolutionize-cryptocurrency-industry/)
-
"By placing their ledgers on the open BitShares network, CCEDK has positioned itself for rapid growth. Exchanges with closed order books are going the way of the dinosaur."
-
This is good news.
Good job guys, I bet a lot of work went on behind the scenes to pull this together.
So this ties in with their mastercard as an off ramp right?

The BitShares Blockchain now has a whole new purpose.
Not only is it a second generation coin containing a decentralized exchange that produces smart-currency products...
Now it's also a transparent inter-company network letting exchanges give their customers and assets trading access to customers and assets on other exchanges.
Instead of competing with traditional exchanges,
we are multiplying the markets they can enjoy by networking with each other.
Here's the details about why this is revolutionary:
Now that you've had time to absorb all the cool new features in BitShares 2.0, its time to start unveiling some of the implications about what is possible. In this post, I'll lay out one of them.
The BitShares Smartchain can serve as a backbone
to support live trading between traditional exchanges.
Now, instead of having separate shallow markets inside their own stovepipe order books, they can use BitShares to enable all their customers to trade all their assets with the customers and assets of other exchanges. Small exchanges can band together to attract medium exchanges to join them to compete with still bigger exchanges. Like a rolling stone.
This greatly expands the network effect, liquidity and market depth of all participants. A bigger pie for everyone.
And with our new referral system, every participating exchange keeps their own profits from signing up their own customers and issuing their own assets.
We have the perfect way for them to safely compete and cooperate on a single, compelling, transparent exchange network.
The BitShares Exchange Network.
So, exchanges can do more than just serve as gateways and bridges.
They can publish their own order books transparently on our Smartchain.
So everyone can KNOW that they are honest and solvent.
And every customer holds the keys to their own assets, fully decentralized where they won't be such juicy targets for hackers.
With easy to use multi-sig accounts to make those decentralized accounts even more secure.
BitShares 2.0 has the industrial strength to handle the workload of all member crypto exchanges combined.
It is the perfect application to serve as an inter exchange networking back bone.
(Almost like we planned it that way.)
Yeah, but it will never happen, right?
Not so fast! Check out this week's Big BitShares Announcement!
CCEDK.com will put its exchange on a transparent Smartchain offering to trade with other exchanges there.
(And provide them fiat ramps and crypto-aware debit card support in the mix.)

Order book sharing between exchanges? I could put up a buy order on exchange A and get it filled by someone selling on exchange B? :o
-
Exchanges that use BitShares as their back end are now interoperable.
They keep their own customers (see our referral program) but now customers of all participating exchanges can interact via BitShares.
-
I... need some time to understand this. that's pure innovation +5%

Calling BitShares a coin is like calling an airplane "bicycle 2.0".
We are moving far far beyond a "Coin".
I did NOT see this coming.

Order book sharing between exchanges? I could put up a buy order on exchange A and get it filled by someone selling on exchange B? :o
It's more complicated than that:
* You deposit USD on CCEDK
* You trade it for CCEDK.USD on CCEDK
* You withdraw CCEDK.USD to your bitshares wallet
At this point you can trade CCEDK.USD for any other token on the bitshares DEX. So in order for you to trade against another exchange's tokens, you'd need to have a market between (or a route to) CCEDK.USD and the other token.
</educated guess>

CCEDK will be a full BitShares hosted wallet (white label of our new Graphene GUI)

I would assume they're replacing the core of their exchange engine with BitShares, and turning their website into a combined web wallet and gateway. So the website should look the same, but all of their trades should actually be on our blockchain and take advantage of that increased depth, without having to withdraw to your personally controlled BitShares wallet. I'm curious if trading through their website instead of trading their assets through your own wallet will still mean trusting them with all the keys.

More detail please :)

Wow, very cool.

I'm thinking the BitShares part will be transparent to the user. They'll log into an exchange like normal and may see some branding like, "Orderbook Powered by BitShares" or some such. BitShares will replace their MySQL or whatever they were using as a ledger.
Any exchange not using BitShares interoperability services will be at an extreme liquidity disadvantage.

Exactly.
Fiat Deposit / Withdraw built into the "wallet" just like I hinted at earlier.

That's basically equivalent to them throwing away their existing architecture for the 'exchange' part of CCDEK and 'just' becoming a gateway - they must have had some worthy incentive to relinquish that level of control...
edit: so are we talking about having CCDEK.USD, or will they just use plain bitUSD?

CCEDK.USD or BitUSD is still being worked out, but I would prefer they perform the bridge function and so users of the exchange never have any liability.

We start with our own EU-based international exchange in Denmark, which went live more than a year ago. CCEDK.com offers buy and sell options for digital currencies in a secure environment on the base of two-factor authentication (2FA) with 24/7 worldwide customer support. We span five continents and 17 languages so far. We offer anonymous trading of some 85+ crypto pairs based on BitUSD, BitEUR, BitCNY, Bitcoin, Litecoin, BitShares, NuBits, NuShares, Dogecoin, DASH , Nextcoin, Blackcoin, Peercoin and Fimkrypto as well as a 50+ Fiat pairs with validation.”
Does this mean they're launching bitDOGE, bitDASH, bitLTC, bitPPC, etc. when they roll out their Graphene-powered exchange? :o

It's a concept I see in poker sites, they form networks to pool player liquidity. http://www.pokerscout.com/ , http://www.ipoker.com/html/page/cardrooms
However they still get dwarfed by the likes of PokerStars who are able to market and improve a a single large brand rather than a lot of smaller ones.
Of course, in the case of BitShares, besides pooling liquidity, customers are also getting a lot of the advantages of being on a decentralised exchange.
http://www.coindesk.com/45-percent-of-bitcoin-exchanges-fail-study-finds/
Online bitcoin exchanges have a failure rate of 45 percent, with customer balances often wiped out, a new study has found...
The median lifetime of exchanges is just 381 days, Moore and Christin found.
So combined it could certainly be an exchange game changer.

Would've been awesome if it was bitUSD, that would be immense for liquidity and peg. But I guess they realize that the lopsided nature of BitAssets 2.0 means they have to charge a deposit rate; in contrast to other where they even give a bonus on deposit.

Great news!
Does this mean every CCEDK trade will be on-chain, paying a transaction fee?
How does this compare to the fees of other exchanges and how much of a premium do you think the market will pay for counterparty risk-free trades?
Assuming CCEDK refers most of it's users it will get all their tx fees back as referral income - will they 'waive' some of the tx fee in order to advertise lower trading fees via CCEDK?
Where is the income from users that were not referred by CCEDK?

Question 1 - yes, for all assets a particular exchange cares to list globally. That could be all of them or some could operate in a hybrid mode, I suppose. There will be regulatory constraints that limit how far they can go.
Question 2 - See Robert Frost misquote above.

Although, not sure if the Bitshares blockchain can handle $15K in peercoin transaction. ;)

Question: Since CCEDK is using the Bitshares blockchain for these trades, does htis mean that when these trades occur, this will generate a fee for bitshares, correct?
Assuming that CCEDK becomes a premium member and refers its clients, it would get 80% of their fees, and Bitshares would get the other 20%? Still, this 20% of the trading fee will add up a lot over time if many people use the CCEDK platform to trade!
Now imagine if with this competitive advantage of not being able to be goxxed, CCEDK overtakes other centralized exchanges like Bitfinex, stamp, huobi, etc. Bitshares could be earning 20% of the fees on all this trade of bitcoin/altcoins?
Would this not counteract dilution, fund development, and result in a profitable DAC?
Am I seeing this potential correctly?

Rather than trying to get average people to understand cryptography, Finance, Bitassets, etc, Bitshares will simply offer businesses a way to save money and make more money, and these businesses will then bring in the end users, who will not have to understand the technical details of how Bitshares works.

Awesome stuff. We are integrating with the tangible world.
A few questions I had from reading the press release.
"Yield. You can earn better yields with less risk than any place else in the world."
Where is this yield coming from. I thought yield would be removed in 2.0.
"Acceptance. You can spend your money instantly, anywhere major debit cards are accepted. We handle the conversions for you."
Did you say anywhere? would that not incure fees higher than that of a using a normal credit card.
Would you be able to credit these cards in the same way you can credit a normal credit card?

Hello to you all!
Just returned back home after a long drive and a pretty nice conference earlier today in Copenhagen. I see you have all been busy speaking about the news. I am happy all is ready to kick some bud getting out there telling everybody that there is only one way now and in the future and it will be a thrill to enjoy to next months towards an epic change of crypto currency values on all shelves.
I notice Ken was out a little quick with btc.com an bitcoinist :), as it was mentioned more as a hope than actually a fact. I gave the material to Bitcoinist as well as Bitscan, CT, Cryptocoinsnews and Bitcoinmagazine, so we are still missing Bitcoinist, Cryptocoinsnews and Bitcoinmagazine of those, and hope that anyone with contacts there or bacsically anywhere else i regards to news media, will make sure they get the articles alreay out there as feed for yet another salutation to transparent orderbooks!
Need some sleep, so I hope there are still someone here to help answer all these great and excited questions.

Any insider trading on this news we need to know about Mr. FucktheLemon?
Russ bought me out, he's running BITN these days. They've locked me out of the office and I can't get access to all of the inside info, so I'm back to doing what I know ... buy hi, sell lo.
And to top it off, CLains fired me motivated me to resign from doing mumble session transcripts and we don't even work together! :P
I'm not even sure if TuckFheman.com will be around much longer at this rate.
I should have never gotten involved with BITN, I should have listened to my family, they've ruined my life. :-\

Whilst watching indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark last night, I couldn't help but notice the ark of the covenant took on a strange BitShares-like appearance ;)
.. Whilst it may not make us invincible, this news is a great leap forward. +5% all around.

A little follow up in regards to the conference, maybe every one would like to know. Also check my other thread on this. Not writing here just for you to keep the ideas of CCEDK a little longer. :) ;) :D

CCEDK will be a full BitShares hosted wallet (white label of our new Graphene GUI)
Just to confirm: will banx.io also be a white-label hosted walled on the bitshares network?

The "lazy asses" banner is cute, but most people are not self-deprecating.
I don't know about you guys, but I've pretty much trained my eyes to ignore banner ads, even the textual ads on google results pages.
Exchange! Buy! Sell! CCEDK.com accept all types of crypto coins! ccedk.com
... for me, that text is not a call to action.
To get someone to visit (yet another) Exchange, you've got to promote something that they don't have yet. Buying and selling coins is one thing if you're a vix speculator, but for the rest of the world, tell them why they need to click the ad, right, f*cking, NOW.
