Update: Winners have been announced on steemit.com/@bitshares-at-sf , first tickets have been issued. I've added another ticket for Bitshares.fdn (next to Ms Dirkes her colleague will join).
Bitshares stickers have been shipped to Kraków straight from the printer. Will share some pictures from SteemFest and logo outings / bitshares presence afterwards.

SteemFest is upcoming week, it would be great to see you there:  https://steemfest.com

32
Update: Bitshares elected spokesperson, Annemieke Dirkes from Bitshares Blockchain Foundation, will present a Bitshares related slot on SteemFest3 in Kraków!
If you can't make it, we will livestream the whole event via https://steemit.com/@steemfest
8 & 9 november conference days. Annemieke will talk on 8 November.

Hey yeah I also have that design, but I generally don't like "white background" stickers to be honest. The one I found is a nice cutout rounded-rectangle and this one looks pretty nice. I'm happy to order the other color's set too btw :)

35
update:

designed sticker for bitshares today which will be handed out in the goodiebag to all attendees.

preview:

- sticker will be finished on a cutout with rounded corners
- sticker will be printed on vinyl / outdoor durable quality
- i can print 1000 for 5 euro extra (vs 500) so I can bring some home / distribute on future events / snail mail you if you want (after SteemFest !)

Update

- as the worker progressed and is still voted in (still with a tiny percentage, but hey life is all about risks :P) we've commenced with announcing the ticket-raffles for BTS and seeing quite some participations:
https://steemit.com/steemfest/@bitshares-at-sf/bitshares-sponsors-steemfest3-in-krakow-and-gives-away-5-full-conference-tickets

- the "bitshares sponsors steemfest" announcement had then also received a paragraph in the official weekly SteemFest announcement:
https://steemit.com/steemfest/@roelandp/steemfest3-updates-new-ticket-giveaway-updates-new-names-added-8-and-our-very-own-hardfork

- and was announced in a newsletter to about 900 people in the weekly SteemFest newsletter:
https://mailchi.mp/abe8ba203174/steemfest-3-update-7-its-a-girl

The logo of Bitshares has been added to the site, newsletter layout, weekly announcements and all digital ticket pdfs issued from last week onwards. Examples of the (non digital) on-site / reallife presence of Bitshares will be shared as Steemfest is happening / when arriving in Kraków.

Update.

Currently the worker is voted in, but it is still open for voting obviously. The worker has been receiving some funds. Thank you for your trust!

Step 1 of the milestones has completed and the "risk-leap" has been taken to officially grant Bitshares the sponsorship to SteemFest.

- Currently the Bitshares logo / link is being included on all tickets, newsletters and on the SteemFest website and forthcoming official Steemfest announcements on Steem chain.
- This week the first give-away SteemFest tickets competitions via "Bitshares at SteemFest" will be starting following the OP's / worker proposals setup.
- A dedicated Steem account bitshares-at-sf has been registered and will be used for this purpose only.

voted for this one as i think is definitely a good idea to have bitshares exposed in this event.

thanks!

update: at the moment the worker is funded, but barely. If Openledger sells some BTS it's out again.
Any votes really help to lock this in. If the coming time I get 1/2 more votes, I will progress with the deal and start setting up the bitshares @ steemfest - give away campaigns on Steem.

voted a while back...just saying :)

thank you too @clockworkgr ! have a nice weekend!

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Poll] BSIP42: adjust price feed dynamically
« on: September 24, 2018, 08:20:14 am »
@abit I'm walking around here on Bitfest and we've been discussing the BSIP42. If we are looking into updating the software with a future hardfork or major release, irregardless of whether to continue the BSIP 42 or it might get voted out we could move and seperate the "pricefeed"-data and the "premium" (modifier) data into a new variable set by witnesses publishing this 'modifier/premium'.

What I would propose is for

- transparency
- useability of the actual market reflecting pricefeeds

to have next to the  quote/base data per asset also a new variable, namely a 'premium' or 'modifier / premium / feedback'-float to be set per asset. This modifier/premium can then be set irregardless of the pricefeed publishing (or together, but ideally also seperate `publish_modifier`) and can be a 'median of medians' .

1. This would mean that witnesses can continue to publish pricefeeds according to the old "market reflecting" data as sampled from all sources.
2. The pricefeed data reflects "true" reflection of the market and can continue to be used as trusted source for input for other projects whatever they may be.
3. Then inside the new software version code the final price to be calculated could be as simple as "pricefeed median * 'modifier median".

- If BSIP42 gets voted out it could be as simple as everyone publishing a "1.0"-value as "modifier".
- If BSIP42 stays active it is way easier to see witnesses' premiums/modifiers and the pricefeeds can stay usefull for other projects beyond and inside the Bitshares realm.

actually I think one other solution may be better: keep feed price as the "real market price" as before, and let witnesses adjust MCR based on the premium/discount get from market. this will give same impact to the the market as BSIP42 and can lead to pegging accuracy.

this need not to add more variables, but need to overcome some technical problem/fix some bugs as @abit has mentioned.

however I think either solution need a long time(several months?) to fix bugs or even do hard fork,  I don't think we should just wait for the solution come, we can just push BSIP42 at current time to make smartcoins better, until the "transparent" solution come.

Yes indeed changing the MCR would be the best solution, but if it would be technically unfeasible or to much demanding for the chain the suggested solution might at least be a good alternative i think, especially since I think that it might be easier to integrate with the current software instead of changing much to the Smart Assets code.

Voted!!! +5% +5%

If have extra budget, I suggest to do giveaway free cap, bag, car stickers etc which people may take along.

That's a great idea, I will make bitshares stickers and put them in the goody bag of all attendees! There is already a SteemFest bag. A cap would be out of budget unfortunately.

Dear BTS community,

My name is @roelandp, a witness for Bitshares since about 1.5 years now. Next to this I am active in the Steem community and organise the annual global conference event SteemFest, this year (edition 3) to be held from 7 to 11 November in Kraków. I've also planned to attend the Bitfest in Amsterdam this weekend and organise a little pancake farewell party on Sunday 23 september actually.

I am proposing this worker (id: 1.14.123), escrowed by the Bitshares Blockchain Foundation, asking for a sponsorship from the Bitshares blockchain for SteemFest3.

The more extensive details of the worker are hosted on BBF workers site, the following is a summary for your consideration.

The Bitshares SteemFest3 sponsorship serves 3 purposes:
  • Generic Bitshares brand recognition increase
  • Create user awareness and user growth
  • Create developer awareness and developer growth

SteemFest 3 - 7/8/9/10/11 November - Kraków, Poland
Steem has become the defacto standard blogging tool for (graphene based) blockchain announcements and for example witness announcements of all sorts. Many Steem users know of BitShares and use it, but there is still work to be done. Did you know that just like last year, this year you can also buy your SteemFest ticket with BTS?

SteemFest’s conference program is still in the works but amongst the 2018 speakers who are already confirmed, of whom some of them will also be present:
  • Steemit’s CEO Ned Scott
  • Joe Parys: Online instructor with 350,000+ students
  • Sorin Christescu: Blockchain Competence Centre leader at the European Commission
  • Anarcho-capitalist Jeff Berwick
See steemfest.com for the complete list of announced speakers, which every week adds more on friday’s announcements.

SteemFest 3 sees a varied attendees mix of early crypto adopters and evangelists of the Steem (and related) chains from all over the world with all kinds of profiles. In 2016 (Amsterdam) 208 people attended, in 2017 (Lisbon) 311 people attended. About 25% of the attendees are developers and know their ways in Graphene chain development. People flock in from over 40 countries to Poland this year, about 40% of attendees is female, still quite unique to blockchain / tech conferences.

The sponsorship would entail the following Bitshares integrations with SteemFest:
  • Bitshares branding on all event media such as: banners onsite, mobile app, printed handout, every announcement, every newsletter, all attendees badges and wherever deemed reasonable in event decorations.
  • Bitshares rollup banner booth explaining Bitshares in laymans terms in the  Expo area of the event.
  • 20 minute slot reserved for Bitshares talk on SteemFest. Open for a volunteer proposal - I'm all ears via steemfest@gmail.com or my telegram handle.
  • 5x SteemFest full-conference tickets to be given away through Bitshares powered competitions to be held on Steem (user: bitshares-at-sf) which forms 'engage-marketing/branding' in itself:
    • BTS-Steemfest3 Competition 1: (2 x 1 ticket) - simple raffle: Steem users can participate by leaving a comment with their BTS account and resteem the post. If they don’t have one, they should get one.
    • BTS Steemfest3 Competition 2: (2 x 1 ticket) - Make an artwork featuring Bitshares and/or it’s core feature: decentralised exchange and asset . Post your artwork on your Steem account, leave a comment here which also includes your BTS account. (If you don’t have one, you should get one).
    • BTS Steemfest3 Competition 3: (1 x 1 ticket) - Most referrals to bring in new Steem users to Bitshares, using the BTS referral system as judge.
Risk management:
If the Bitshares community decides this worker aligns and help the BTS chain further, and therefore vote for the worker and trigger the daily payments, I would accept this decision as final and start integrating the Bitshares branding as announced above. One week thereafter the BTS competitions would start - each week a new one. As you can understand this gives me a risk since, once the tickets are given away and/or event materials printed, there is no way to erase them, thus should the voting be redacted / changed towards a 'non paying'/'non-supported' status of this worker afterwards, I am willing to take that risk and cover the funds needed personally. But it would obviously be a less optimal situation.

FYI: BEET-Voting widget integrated on SteemFest.com :)
To support ongoing efforts of the BEET-voting tool, enabling voting-widgets to be scattered anywhere on the web and enable secure voting / blockchain interaction, I have integrated the Worker-proposal 1.14.123 as a widget in the footer of the SteemFest - site.

"bitasset.feeds.count(o.publisher)" That error usually means you are trying to publish a feed for an asset where you are not allowed to publish assets.
Are you still active witness?

Thx Fabian, thats what I also thought at first. However I made mistake with the config file. Whoops. Fixed now and integrated a weighted magic-wallet into my pricefeed.
