For now I have adjusted my weighted inputs from several market API feeds. It results in lesser banding from my feed, closer in the -0.7% +0.7% range of the median. I have applied and tested the magicwallet api by using the btsprice tool, however it is currently giving me an `Assert Exception: bitasset.feeds.count(o.publisher):` when trying to publish with the adjusted code. I will try to debug this and see how to get magicwallets data added to my feed-weighing. Thank you.

the way i see it that markets are always on the move. every witness is running pricefeed scripts monitoring the markets. this should be as accurate as possible sand have certain treshold when to update parameters in place. some witnesses run updates at fixed intervals, others whenever price changes by x percent or a combination of both. pricefeeds are always reactive to the market and some witnesses respond faster or frequenter then others  or have different parameters for example in weight of individual exchanges. this leaves to differences in published feeds and that is something which is when dealing with this living organic oracle a good thing I think. because the ultimate pricefeed is taken from the median any anomalities are equalled out, provided enough witnesses are running correct pricefeedscripts.

that said, i will give a look whether my markets-to-monitor portfolio is still accurate.
clockwork suggested about cointiger. i will add that one asap.

currently looking at https://roelandp.nl/bitshareswitnesslog/ i see my feed for CNY diverges 1.7% from the current median: (1.27 vs 1.25) which I think is perfectly within bounds.

on my aforementioned page, pricefeeds with divergence of more than 5% off median are reported in red as well as outdated pricefeeds

update: to chime in on the “markets always moving statement”: now im looking 1 hour later at my feed and see a difference of 0.9% from the median (1.24) in my published feed at 1.25.

note that the page caches results for 15 minutes.

Hey hey as you all probably know bitshares.foundation is organising the first BitFest Conference from Fri, 21 Sep 2018, 12:00 – Sun, 23 Sep 2018, in Amsterdam, my hometown. Looking forward to meeting many of you there... Don't have a ticket yet? Check out https://bitfest.in for details and the shoppe!

Seeing so many BTS'sers flocking to Amsterdam's capital I can't resist to add my share to the program by bringing signature dutch pancakes (family recipe, my brother has a pancake restaurant), on the personally sponsored 'BitFest Farewell Pancakes' event in the Volkshotel on the Sunday 23 September from 10AM - 1PM (aboutish).

Before heading back to home, I invite you for a last moment of togetherness. Close off Bitfest with some breakfast pancakes and a coffee or other drink, courtesy of urs witness. Next to running a reliable block producer, pricefeeds, seed node and rpc node, some add-on apps / scripts for the community I feel every witness should bake pancakes. :P

BitFest Farewell Pancakes

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Witness Proposal] roelandp
« on: April 10, 2018, 07:25:49 am »
Wow, time flies! Almost a year since my original witness announcement.

I've just recently fired up a websocket api node at  wss://btsws.roelandp.nl/ws

The past year was great full of highs & lows but my main highs were organising SteemFest in Lisbon (including organising a hackathon for Bitshares and other graphene chains) and most excitement was the shutdown and restart of the BTS chain past july due to an unforeseen error in the BTS software. (fyi: main lows were in family health sphere :( )

I would like to take an opportunity to summarise my contributions for Bitshares platform past year, if people drop by this thread:

Thank you for your enduring trust and let's make it another great year for the Dex!

General Discussion / Re: HERTZ - Oscillating Formula Based Asset
« on: January 30, 2018, 09:32:48 pm »
I made a mod for BTSprice to continue supporting the no longer running btsbots.com DEX order books. https://github.com/roelandp/btsprice

I do actually use BTSPrice for feeding most of the "currency" markets and gold silver. It's  a great tool and very all-entailing featurerich and well coded by @alt , however as announced, he stopped maintaining it with his exit of BTS. Hence my addition on my GH.

But i do also run separate scripts for more custom needed feeds, like HERO , Bit20, and now, Hertz.  These are (imho) less about continuous realtime market monitoring (which btsprice-tool for currency markets perfectly serves) and more about the one-off-calculate-ad-hoc algoritmic based feed pushes. Those feeds (in my case) are all based of combining the algorithm calculation with publishing the feed by utilising the feed_publish command from pybitshares. Link with "individual" scripts https://github.com/roelandp/bts-misc-pricefeeds

That said, let's keep this thread for Hertz / Hero and see whether someone jumps on your bounty and focus back to Hertz :)

hey sakhan,

no those individual scripts are custom mpas and are fed via xerocs pybitshares.

i did make some changes to btsprice by alt to keep it running, however no intergration with hertz yet.

giving its nature of being an algorithmic mpa not so much based on “old skool”  market monitoring / price moves i’m not sure if it fits the scope of btsprice.

people running btsprice already have python, so its a small step
to py-bitshares imho.

Hey @Customminer great, sounds interesting, would love to learn a bit more about your thoughts behind the oscillation. Do you have some more info on the (fixed) formula and where can I learn a bit more about the Hertz asset? ... what day would be 0% etc. etc.

Oh oh.... that is very unfortunate. I think you are kinda out of luck here as the account is (I suspect) created as a 'blind_account', iaw the owner does not want to be revealed.

You can read more about blind_accounts here: http://docs.bitshares.org/bitshares/tutorials/confidential-transactions.html

What you could do is indeed try to give more attention, maybe someone will reveal himself and/or you can put up a page with proof and indeed sent that to the Spectrum user as you did before and hope for the best...

Updates!

Thank you for your trust.

Sorry for the slow reply. I have updated my github with the code to execute the 'switch key' part. The logic you discuss here is NOT integrated as I had never given the edge case a thought.

It would be cool to test this witness-frequent-key-switching on the testnet for sure, by running 2 instances with different signing keys.

If we can come up with a rotation scheme to test for, I am all ears writing the script based on python-bitshares which some can then install on the testnets and monitor. https://github.com/roelandp/Bitshares-Witness-Monitor/commit/a8bc151a9f029bab7f4e3634271bbdb040d7b700

Report of the SteemFest Blockchain Hackathon with Bitshares as a Focus Chain Sponsor
- thanks to the DAC Worker Proposal 1.14.59 Sponsorship. Thank you!

Last week the SteemFest2 event took place in Lisbon.  On the first day (1 November) we held a 24 hour hackathon where Bitshares took the stage as Focus Chain Sponsor. @wackou was so kind to do the full Bitshares introduction.

- My opening words can be seen here: https://d.tube/#!/v/juanmiguelsalas/ak5lmhgp
- @wackou 's Bitshares introduction can be seen here: https://d.tube/#!/v/juanmiguelsalas/07wfsy1n

In the hackathon venue (Silver Room @ Cowork Lisboa) we had about 70 people attending the opening words, developer introductions and coffees. It was so busy that we ran out of lanyards even hahaha. (also due to the fact that a sprint for the main conference SteemFest had absorbed many of them). I guess many people who had arrived early to SteemFest main conf (the next days) decided to join in and meet at the hacker space. All in all it was a great amount of people I must say.

After the opening remarks it was time for the hackathon to take off. The presentations where to be held at the main event on SteemFest Man Conference day 2 (on 3 november) in the Montes Claros Lisbon Secret Spot. Here we had invited all participants to mingle with the main conference attendees for some afternoon presentations and afterwards the hackathon presentations.

We asked @blocktrades to be the judge for the Bitshares hacks, however there was only one hack build on Bitshares (out of 6 hacks), which was somewhat disappointing. Nonetheless the Bounty platform for ICO run on Bitshares looks very beautiful as you can see by the winner's post @phenom on Steemit: https://steemit.com/ico/@phenom/steemfest-hackaton-first-steem-powered-fully-automated-bounty-platform-for-ico-is-out and can already be tested. That's just great work I must say.

Here you see me handing the 'Big Fat Fake Cheque' with the prize money of 1111 bitUSD to @phenom:

After the awards we gathered for drinks and dinner and an afterparty in downtown Lisbon.

Bitshares had (IMHO) a great presence at SteemFest with:
- Developer intro to 70 persons by @wackou
- Talks by @Xanoxt about Rudex and @Chris4210 about governance at the main event (300 attendees)
- Mentions:
-- Hackathon site: SteemFest.Devpost.com
-- Generic site under hackathon section: SteemFest.com
-- Mentions in announcement posts and emails
-- Mentions in thank you post
-- Mentions in thank you slides (at start of hackathon & main conf)
-- Printed logo on Citymap distributed to all 300 attendees
-- Printed logo on Hackathon Totem Pole on display at hackathon
-- Printed logo (repeated) on backdrop for photobooth
-- Printed logo on Badges of Hackathon & generic conference
-- Logo on wall during dinner at SteemFest venue day 2

In the meantime the prizemoney has already been transferred to the winner: http://cryptofresh.com/tx/ea3e16aba564d7bfeb024ab0744f53896b6db533

And we got paid the bitUSD (including the prize money) as part of the agreement for the worker, which was kindfully handled by @bitshares.foundation

Thank you very much for your support!
