"Bitshares can help new communities/companies with large turnovers or existing virtual currencies transfer over to 0% inflation share systems that are trade-able on crypto-equity exchanges. (The only thing missing is a partnership with a large exchange Crypsty/Bter etc. who would agree to list the crypto equity in exchange for a fee or X% of shares. )
Bitshares would charge a fee in the form of shares for the developers, the exchange listing, and 10% for AGS & PTS. This way these communities can have their own 'BlackCoin' listed and being traded in a matter of days for little work.
"
Don't forget that Bithaus is in beta, we are about to have our own exchange.
sweetJust wondering if Raspberry Pi is good enough to run bts client? I think bts client should be an energy friendly product
Full client requires 200 GB at full scale... (assuming every block hits the max limit)
200gb is not a problem if attached a 512GB SSD to raspberry Pi. then we can build a green system under usd300.
Pulled lastest bitshares code finally build it on my debian box.thanks
Excited to see that the latest bts_xt_client supports --server and uses ./htdocs as http root. This makes it easier to put my code just at ./htdocs. Will play with that if I find some time.
RPC tricks:
You need to go through the below steps to send xts:
1. openwallet()
2. walletpassphrase('<<send password>>')
3. sendtoaddress('address', {"amount":<number>,"unit":0},'comment')
From RPC commands, I don't find how to retrieve latest transactions but I can try to simulate it by directly using getblock and get_transaction.
My config.json:
{"rpc":{"rpc_user":"user","rpc_password":"pwd","rpc_endpoint":"0.0.0.0:0","httpd_endpoint":"0.0.0.0:9091","htdocs":"./htdocs"},"ignore_console":false}
Lukybit is on this forum from the beginning back in the time when the forum had a few members . His contributions were and are one of the most insightful around here. He's very passionate about 3I and there is no question in my mind he was not trying to to pump anything. You may disagree with his opinions but I will never question his intentions.
agreed, better to use phonetically simple and newly formed words. No one new what WiFi, Paypal or Kleenix was or meant, now they are household words. Three word/letter acronyms are very IBM, ATT, EDS.. boo hissEVERYTHING with an existing meaning is regulated...
Lets slice the Gordian Knot* in half, lets invent a new word and put the meaning we want in... in Greek it is easy... history has proove that!
And it is easy most times to get spelled naturaly internationally... because believe me "sovereign" is not easy to speak out from different countrys they don't speak English....
* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordian_Knot
EVERYTHING with an existing meaning is regulated...precisely... lets beat our own path, create our own terms and terminology! If it's fair, works fine and last long time? Who cares, the rest is semantics and pot holes.
How is "coop" a red flag label ?
What we are without using regulatory red flag labels (credit union, coop, bank, IPO, etc..)
humm? MaidSafe
Distributed Autonomous Network or DAN.....
agreed, a worthy project and advice from BM.
To improve upon their system I would:
1) eliminate inflation all together and power the network by better unit of account
2) move the responsibility for load balancing and replication to local nodes
3) charge users any time they consume more than they produce
Hope David Irvine will read your advices...
since I am also invested on maidsafe project

Just wanted to point out this job fair. It's May 3rd in silicon valley for people looking for jobs in the bitcoin industry.Good eye...

It seems to me like getting the message of BitShares out to potential developers like people looking for a job in the industry could be even more important than getting the message to typical investors.
Maybe an idea to have a presence at this job fair? Even if you don't find someone to hire, it might not hurt. just a thought.
I wish them well, as I wish my neighbor selling his house for twice what it's worth.
I agree with Luckybit, we should not be cheering for failure - we WANT them to succeed because it sets a precedent for our success.
right now we have an issues tracker on github but I think it is not enough
