Yes, I opened the link and it did not say much.  I believe there would be more to it.

Much better!

Gui windows.
Margin call orders display is now fixed.

I'm not a real fan of the new sorting feature.
It now pops up a window, descending ascending etc..
I think the original clicking on something to sort it, was more of a natural experience.
Also the sorting doesn't seem to work.
The "arrow" icon to get to the pop up in BTS:Bitsilver is under the text: call price(Bitsilver:BTS)

And there's no way to scroll through a list, if it's longer than the window it's in.
edit: Scrolling works if you go back to dashboard, then to the markets.
But if you go from one market to another it stops working.

When transferring unable to select last assets on the list, if there are more than 10 in your account.

Recents markets seem to be randomly auto removed

The burn wall, shouldn't have bitassets on it's amount options list.
Luckily trying to use it results in an error.

Great improvements the wallet looks and feels much better so great work :)

Couple of minor cosmetic comments:

When clicking a tab it moves you to the top of the window again, would be better if window position remained within new tab.

Button hover is very slow to respond

https://bitshares.org/resources/downloads     Here you can download file named bitsharesGUI-0.6.1-linux-x86_64.tar.gz, but it's not a GUI client. GUI client can be downloaded from https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/releases    and it's the same filename, but filesize is ~80 MB, compared to first mentioned one which is ~19 MB.

This is pretty much confusing and misleading, hope this will be fixed.

...and GUI client is still completely bugged. Stating "Not Connected" for no reason. Shame for such a good system, GUI is definitely the weakest point here, come on, fix that.

I don't have a suggested change, just a general comment. The only area that causes me major grief is the delegate voting section. I know there's guides in the forum, for a new user, it's still too confusing.

What's confusing about it?

I don't disagree that it could use improvements [1], I'm just wondering what problems you see with it.

Where is the console and block explorer? Cant find them in 0.6.1

OK, found the Console in the Drop down list of accounts under Advanced Settings. And then the block explorer link takes me to BitsharesBlocks. I don't like that the blockexplorer is sent to a third party. SVK's site is great but I think the way it was is better than linking to an exterior website.

First impressions 0.6.1.

Very Impressive. I like the new markets page with the Market-Pegged assets listings. Nice to see the Oil feeds increasing.
Any plans for wallet keyboard shortcuts:

eg for starters

F1 Dash
F2 Exchange
F3 Delegates
F4 Transfer
F6 Console

so far it starts not faster then before

- after starting it is always "not connected" and starts minutes later to resyn

what i really don't like is the market section

are anyone of the devs using the GUI to trade? I am pretty sure they don't!

why?

- if i want to buy, sell or short i have to scroll down a full page to get the available sizes and prices.
- in this version i can't click onto the offers and the don't get included into the boxes (this is not an improvment)

trading should be easy, but it is overgrouded with unneeded infos and needs long times to load.

why not just copy good examples from other trading plattforms?

Brian and Cass already worked on something, but i have the feeling anything is done 5 times, like the next new homepage we need.

There needs to be something like a simple level II quote display. Color code it with buys being green, covers dark green, sells red, and shorts in dark red. It would be a nice concise picture of the real market without looking at full bid/ask displays for shorts, buys and sells.

I lost all my account and balance in GUI after I update 0.6.1, , I know my account and balance did not lose, because I can see it in command line . but the feeling was so bad
I think we would do better

I restart several times, account back in GUI, I don`t know what is wrong

CLI works as expected. Always nice to see new commands.

I like the new GUI, but I have a couple of issues:

1.
The GUI on Firefox is dead slow. I see a constant 100% CPU usage when the gui is loaded in firefox. Chrome handles it very well though.

Linux Mint 17.1
Firefox version 35.0.1
Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0

2.
When first unlocking (going past the welcome screen), the main account in the wallet is active (shown on the upper right corner near the "Lock" button). This is expected, but after clicking on the main account and choosing a different active account, now the only way to go back to the main account is only possible by going to the Dashboard and actually clicking the main account on the Accounts list. IMO it should also be available from the drop down on the upper right like all other accounts.

I've read reports of sluggish behavior, modern pc requirements and the blockchain taking hours to download.  I would recommend some type of warning during the installation that would cover the following points:

- The full version of the client is recommended for (the target such as exchanges, delegates etc)
- The minimum requirements for the full experience are (ram, cpu etc)
- The first time downloading the blockchain may take ...   For a more responsive experience, please install the (point to the download page for lightweight and web clients)

Setting the expectation will save us pain down the road. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Both clients (gui, cli) can't connect to the p2p network!
Anybody with the same problem right now?
Code: [Select]
--- there are now 1 active connections to the p2p network
--- there are now 0 active connections to the p2p network
--- there are now 1 active connections to the p2p network
--- there are now 0 active connections to the p2p network
--- there are now 1 active connections to the p2p network

edit:
at least my seed node 185.25.22.21:1776 is working without problems

Windows 7 64bit, 16GB RAM, SSD

Had a power outage yesterday.  I'm now unable to open the wallet.  It is stuck at the login page.  No matter what I enter for a password, I get the 3 moving dots for awhile and then it returns to the password prompt.  Doesn't even say anything about it being the wrong password.

I removed the Chain and Peers folders and restarted.  Same results.

I reinstalled the client.  Same results

I then tried to import the most recent wallet backup.  I get an error that the password is incorrect.  I'm 100% sure the password is correct.

Same problem for me. In fact I can't use this version at all, I could not manage to make it work not even once. I have exactly the same behavior like you described and tried  everything. I have a I7-8GB RAM. 0.5.3 was working well.

Now I've moved a backup '/wallet/default/' folder into a fresh installation.   It appears to be stuck on the loading screen.  Doesn't give any indication of what its doing. reads 'starting bitshares'.

The chain folder grew to 762MB but no more, so i assume it was downloading the chain, but no change now for 30 mins or so.

I ended the process as it was stuck.  Noticed there were 2 bitshares.exe processes.

I thought I was careful to close them all before starting the last one, but I may have missed it.

In relaunching after "end process"  It gave the option to "reset database"  I chose this , entered password, now I'm back in.  working.

Perhaps a check at start-up to see if bitshares.exe is already running before trying to launch another instance would help?

I've noticed on the mac version that I often have to restart the client. If my mac is asleep, then wakes up, the client is never able to reconnect without a restart.

I installed the 0.6.1 client (Ubuntu, compiled).... It has tabs at the top (dashboard, exchange etc.). Is that 0.6.1?
And where is the command line?
Also weird is that the delegates are old delegates and they still have the old standard 100% payrate (what is now 3%). Probabaly because I am not synced...
What is convenient with the Windows client is that is shows whether I am synced at the bottom. I don't (and never had) that with the Linux version :(

Ok, thanks! That is quite a bit hidden. I had to go to Account drop down menu...

Feedback for the 0.6.1 Windows client:
- Anytime I do not close it through File > Quit it asks me next time whether I want to reset the database. A bit annoying that you always have to think about quitting it that way...
- I newly started the client after it crashed. It started but I can only see it when I click on the "got to desktop" button. Then I can see it for a second and then it's gone again. When I have had the task manager open (and closed it again) then the Bitshares client is visible and stays visible but says "Starting Bitshares" which doesnt change.

I was having difficulties syncing with 4GB RAM but once I upgraded to 16GB everything works great.

Does anyone know if there's a plan for this?  Will users be encouraged to use the lightweight wallet if they don't have a quick machine?  Or will the QT and other future wallets sync better in the future?

My guess is no. I think it's a limitation of LevelDB. So with more transactions in the future it will become even slower. I think that's a dowside of having 10 sec blocks. There are just too many of them !

My computer crashed many times when ram was 4 GB. And it works well after ram upgraded to 6 GB.
Though the chain is large, if the resource rely on can be limited, then everyone can download it though with longer time maybe.  My computer will never crash when i download a very large file, i just have to wait. But to bts client, i even have no chance to wait, because the computer will crash when syncing.

Finally had a chance to upgrade!

It's a really big improvement, it's working very smoothly for me.  Great work everyone!  I've had a lot of problems with past versions but this is working super-smooth.  I have 8Gb ram btw.

It's looking very nice and I the layout is much better too.  It is exciting to see it working so well!

It just looks and works great, I'm so pleased.

Experience:
Took about 1 hour to load while it said "replaying the block chain", but it did it smoothly.
After opening still had the last 6 days worth of syncing to do.  It synced the first 3 days in a few minutes then said "not connected" for a few minutes,, then synced again to completion.

In the "transfer section" the familiar bug of accounts not showing up happened again, but this time, the trick of "control-click - reload" worked and they appeared.  Still, it needs to not appear at all.

No other problems!

:)

Ok. I have version 061 (on Ubuntu). I change a few votes in the delegate section. Then I go to my account and to the Vote section. There I click the Vote button. Nothing happens (no balance sent, no balance received). I did make sure that I am synced. This has been the case with that latest 0.4.x version too (skipped the 0.5 version). Voting works by manually transferring my balance to myself.

I'm on OSX, 4 Giga RAM, flash hard drive. It works quite well, even if it looks very very buggy : most of the time my second account doesn't appear, the transactions take much time to appear even after the blocks have synced.

Globally the wallet is way way better, it does what it is supposed to do, but the user experience remains quite bad, IMO.

There are many annoying things. If your short is fractioned in 10 different transactions, you'll have to cover each of them manually, paying a fee for each (probably not only a GUI problem, but that's very frustrating).

When one asks for a price by clicking on it, a slightly higher price is selected. That is psychologically very hard to swallow, even if the amount is negligible. You clicked on a price, you want to select THAT price, not a higher one.

So you change the price to what the sell order is... but, of course, you probably have some unappearing decimals so the buy doesn't happen. Quite unnerving !

Then, you ask for 1000, and you get 999.999. When you autoshort to yourself, you find yourself with a 0.001 short that someone will have to buy and pay the fee... and then you have to cover that 0.001 and pay the fee again. Argh. Obviously, fees are negligible, but psychologically, it is not, it feels like a hassle.

On my Mac, scrolling down is not sleek. It stops, to make the orders defile.

Clicking on a button doesn't exactly feel like it should feel, for example the "confirming" action after putting an order appears somewhere often out of the visual field. Maybe a pop-up would be better ?

Maybe we also need a confirming for cancelling actions ?

Good luck guys ! We have the best product, as soon as we have the perfect UI, traders will flock !

No dialog opened after clicking the Vote button. Didn't recognize any error messages but will check for that again.
Edit: Checked for error messages: If I click "vote" there is no error popping up. But at the right top there is an error message that gets shown to me when I click on the bell, it says: "JSON Parse error: Property name must be a string literal." And it are 2580 errors (same error I guess). Clicking on "show details" doesn't work (noting happens when I click on "more details") .

One minor thing: If I am in the delegates section (see all the delegates) and then click on a delegate and then click on the "back" button at the left top, it brings me back to the general delegate section (to the top of the active delegates) and not to where I have been (not to where I scrolled to; i have to scroll again; and not to the standby delegates section if I was there before clicking on the one delegate).

One small but nasty glitch:
Drop down list of assets to transfer only has 10 entries. As USD is so far down the alphabet I can't transfer BitUSD using the GUI.

This will be fixed in the next release.

No dialog opened after clicking the Vote button. Didn't recognize any error messages but will check for that again.
Edit: Checked for error messages: If I click "vote" there is no error popping up. But at the right top there is an error message that gets shown to me when I click on the bell, it says: "JSON Parse error: Property name must be a string literal." Delulo, I'm still having hard time replicating this. What is your wallet version - 6.1? Do you see any account's balances and transactions?

Version is 0.6.1. I can see all balances and all transactions. Although this morning I had to restart my VM because no tx and only one account showed up in the client (this though is another issue because the problem with the vote button exists when I see all tx and balances correctly). Maybe you can ask toast. He seemed to have a clue what this was about.

I find some bugs in the 0.6.0/ 0.6.1 wallet:

 1. the balance of one account in my wallet is wrong, and several transactions were missing in the transaction history list .
 2. the pending short usd order is missing ,so I can not cancel the order. (I still can find the order in the short order list)

Those issues were showing up after I restored the wallet  because the wallet become unable to unlock.( I rescaned the wallet twice after resyncing the block data)

How should I do?

thanks.

Here's my experience with it so far:
1. Lags too much. On a VM with 1300MB RAM, running only xfce and BitShares, it'll start swapping.

2. No possibility of deleting accounts (unregistered ones - I understand the limitation/possible impossibility of removing blockchain registered accounts) - hide it under 3 red popups if you must, but please add it!3. Takes too long to start-- without any visual feedback (meanwhile, the log is getting spammed like mad).4. Logs way too much, if there is an option from the gui to minimize logging, I missed it.Other than that, it's been working fine for me so far.
Sorry about formatting, don't know what's wrong, it's mangling spacing between lines..

Account balance in Dashboard disappeared, but I can see it in console and exchange.
It happened before, but normally returns back after 3/4 logins. Probably will return again  :)
