Title: Pool Decentralization
Post by: Delinquency on March 15, 2014, 06:46:07 am
A couple of tough miners left 1gh and the difficulty dropped down.

There's about 50% total mining hashpower in mmcpool now.

Let's see what happens because the mining market is shifting its focus.

That is interesting.
I mine when I have my laptop on and use 1gh and DwarfPool.

As a honored member of the community, you should mine with your laptop as well.

LOL Sorry I was not clear.  I do mine with my laptop.
I don't have another system with a cpu that will mine or I would have that going too.
My mining system died.  I got a replacement MB for it.  Then the PSU died I have that coming back from RMA but now that CPU is dead as well.
I have had some bad luck.   ::)
Could be worse.

Looks like 1gh is returning to gobbling up the hashrate distribution again...

I just cant wait for P2Pool :)

Abso-fuckin-lutely! Too few pools means my meager 3.2 hpm isn't nearly as cost effective as it could be, since I either take a tiny percentage on The Big Two (mmcpool and 1gh) or get a bigger percentage of nothing with dwarfpool.

But the problem will be getting the miners to move around and equalize the processing power.

And somebody turn of their damned botnet! 4000 hpm? Come on!

For now, since p2pool YAM miner is 50% complete,

I want everyone to have dwarfpool as their primary server in mining to distribute our mining power even more.

MMCPool and 1GH are battling the miner's power and we need a third contendor in the picture.

Over this weekend I put my primary focus on yam P2Pool compatibility. Devs of P2Pool have access to modified version, and I expect feedback from them very soon.

After getting confirmation that everything is fine I will push out maintenance release.

It is still not very clear shall I make automatic P2Pool selection or not, but this version will come with manual configuration only.
