Title: How to measure and market success of the peg
Post by: starspirit on September 19, 2014, 09:56:32 pm
It would be useful to set up a place where everybody can follow a number of metrics regarding the evolving history of the peg, especially for usd. This could also be used for marketing.

Things I think would be useful to track in charts are:

 - history of transactions, represented as discount of premium to feed price
 - volatility of bUSD
 - correlation of bUSD to fiat USD vs other currencies or gold
 - supply of bUSD
 - volume traded in bUSD
 - bid/ask spread
 - volumes transferred in bUSD

thoughts?

+5% Yes! Something visual will be very good for marketing. Even if it shows some struggles early on, who cares it's still marketing gold.

I've added the real (Coinmarketcap) price for BTSX vs USD,CNY and BTC to my price history plots in the asset page. Since historical data isn't readily available I only have data from the 17th of September.

Wow I had no idea you could do that, and I've been looking for that kind of data for a while! Thanks, will see if I can get that added later today!

No problem. If there's a site with graphs, there's usually an API for feeding it data... just open your network tab to see.

Edit: It seems you should know... ;)

+5% This is a good idea, it will be very useful and definitely from a marketing pov, some easy to evaluate & compare metrics of a BitAsset system that is hopefully functioning well and progressing in the right direction will be a great advertise-able, confidence building, track record that will really help market it.

So thanks to @fluxer555 I've integrated the price history for BTC and USD for the period I was missing, BTC in particular has tracked the real price quite well :)
