Title: Is imported private key kept in the btsx's wallet?
Post by: dahongfei on July 21, 2014, 03:20:51 am
If I imported private key/wallet.dat from pts/bts into btsx client, does the client keep these keys?

Is it necessary to import to a one-time temp account and transfer it back to my main btsx account?

Imported keys stay in the wallet.  No need for one-time temp account.

So the keys stay within my wallet folder. If I want to remove them, I can:

1. backup and rename the wallet folder
2. open the client, create a new wallet using the same passphare
3. if the money shows up, delete the renamed old wallet folder

Am I right?

okay so the passphrase is only used to encrypt the wallet files. I'll try to export my btsx priv key and import.

use wallet_export_to_json and dare you to forget your passphrase (keys are encrypted)
