Title: BitSharesX 0.4.5 Wallet Crash Windows 7 [RESOLVED]
Post by: BitFanatic on August 22, 2014, 02:36:50 pm
Hey,

Cause of Problems with sync of my BitSharesX Wallet I uninstalled it completely and downloaded and installed the 0.4.5 Wallet for Windows (7). The Problem is that the program is crashing after few minutes. Now there are still 30 days left to sync. Can anyone help? How can I stop the crashes?

Thanks.

We will need more information about the crash.

Windows: %APPDATA%/BitShares X (Try going to Start->Run and opening %APPDATA%, then open the BitShares X folder)

Then post the log file here....

Also try using the chain server...

What do you mean with log file?

Edit 1: using the chain server: Can't connect to the network.

Edit 2: now sync works, it is syncing

Edit 3: using the chain server is working, no more crashes. thanks bytemaster! to the moon!

I added the chain server but now I have 0 connections.

While syncing via the chain server it will display 0 connections.  Once done P2P mode will resume.

Thanks bytemaster, I was having crashes today so I added the chain server and it works great! Excellent wiki instructions on how to add the chain server to the config.json file.

Please try 0.4.6, you may need to wipe your chain data, before that, backup your wallet.

mmmm not sure.  i restarted the client right away and it asked me if i want to continue or if i want to redo the whole thing.  i picked the latter, so i guess all the data prior is gone?

Probably... did it work after a redo or does it always crash?

the syncing got stuck, i quit that, then looked at bitsharesx download page and saw 0.4.7 was out, so i did a clean install of that.  no crashes so far.

thanks for looking out for us.  it's the first time i saw a founder of a crypto project being so hands on with its community.
