Thanks for all your replies. I'm in China, maybe a GFW issue?

Any chinese confirm this?

If it's indeed a GFW issue, maybe designer should consider to solve this. Because in China it's a REAL problem.

I have a friend in Beijing. I was just talking to her on Facetime and asked her to open bitshares.org and it opened for her immediately.

Yes, I can open now. It's not stable.

Also I can't open bitsharestalk.org for quite several times today. But I can open bitsharestalk.org using vpn service.

I don't care about the bitsharestalk.org, I care about bitshares.org.

Just as all you know, our new official website is alive for quite a few days. That's good.

But,
1. It is really really slowly loaded, to be specific it takes about as long as one minute to open. Considering the few available contents of the website atm, also by comparison to the good accessability of other bitcoin2.0 projects websites, i.e. NXT, ripple, XCP, I feel very upset;

2. What's even worse, right now, I can't open org at all.

I feel it's necessary to feedback this, because outsiders's impression be made by official site will impact their judgement of the project itself. I‘m sorry if this annoys ppl working on the website, I don't mean to criticize anyone.

Mining bitUSD isn't gonna make a big difference I think. Most large miners instantly sell their blocks OTC for fiat already, or send them to an exchange account that automatically insta-dumps. Minebitshares only makes sense for people who are actual bitshares supporters. The thing we need to market is the light wallet with shapeshift. That's really the most important thing because it has the possibility to disrupt all bitcoin spending wallets and it's finally a product that can actually be sold on its own merit rather than visions and promises.

I second this.

Maybe we should make a strong product before go out to "judge" others. I'm ok with bm do blog, but please stop judging people, they just don't like it.

I don't think it even needs a bounty.  The regular delegate system is working well.

It is relatively low hanging fruit and is already 90% done.

bitshares lite wallet is in final  initial alpha testing.
shape shift API and lens code is open source and ready to use.   And I have a friend with an established bitcoin wallet that is open source. He cannot dedicate developers to doing this but is happy to push it live in his existing wallet with thousands of users.   We are talking a month or two tops of development if someone from this community can do that.

+1 to small input, big payback.

Bitshares has many technical work been done and to be done, this is very fundamental work and everything including markting plan built on that. But maybe to creat another direction, what about we start trying to run bitshares like running real companies? Most companies is sales-oriented, i.e. let marketing initiatives lead the project.

Maybe we are already doing this, but not enough I think because we ignored many brilliant marketing ideas and this bitcoin wallet idea is brilliant.

What I love about Max is that he doesn't just sell what we've got, he tells us what will sell.
Priceless.

I agree that marketing should lead.  But saying that brilliant ideas are being ignored is missing the point.  There is no central authority you need to get permission from!  We are decentralized now.

Market your ideas to the stakeholders and potential new developers.

You guys have the talent to completely change our direction by just campaigning for your ideas and selling them to the voters to elect the dev delegates you have sold on the idea of joining us to do it.

You shouldn't be waiting for any core team to make your great ideas happen.  Carpe Diem!

Bottom line.
If its not happening it's because it hasn't been sold internally.
Who has the greatest ability and skill to fix that?

:)

You are right, maybe we have this "guy", maybe not. But I think the guy must be passionate about bitshares and be responsible and resourceful. For a early product like bitshares, I would say PASSION is the most important factor though.
