No how could this happen they doubled ltc market cap and pushed btsx to 5th. How could they get a 300 million market cap in a day with only $200K volume.
It's funny for a split second I believed it.

That's funny :) I saw that briefly too.
I find Ripple & Litecoin being briefly ahead of BTSX equally amusing :)
Once the BTSX kinks get sorted out, I'll find Bitcoin being temporarily ahead funny too.

The last update says nothing has happened... so it seems like it was just a FUD campaign to me.

True but what was going on with that market cap?
Oh coinmarketcap was just hacked. I remember a couple months ago when dogecoin overtook bitcoin on coinmarketcap. That was a good laugh. This time the hackers made it somewhat more believable because they didn't make monero market cap larger than bitcoin.

No hacking... CMC just uses the highest trade price at all the exchanges it tracks. Somebody purchased $1000 worth of Monero on Bittrex's shallow market. From BCT:

Somebody used 17,000 black coin ($1000) to buy some monero (about 0.06 total) at a stupid high price on bittrex.
You may notice how easily these 'market capitalization' figures can be manipulated.
I sincerely hope that whoever bought that was buying their own sell order.
