Roadscape,

I figured it out this morning. User error on the last step. Haha

I couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks again,

Brett

Thank you for your help Roadscape. I appreciate it.

I have downloaded the 0.9.0C wallet and with my Mac tried using the instructions for exporting the keys using the Console:
It's stating Ok but the keys are nowhere to be found. Even with a .json search

I also tried the other way and it's saying invalid format on the 2.0 wallet.

Technical Support / Hard time Migrating to 2.0
« on: October 20, 2015, 04:27:41 am »
Hello,

I'm trying to migrate to 2.0 and I'm completely lost. I have been very busy and haven't kept up to date with the forums and in turn new wallet releases. I am currently in 0.9.0. When I download the most current wallet from the explanation it takes me to 2.0. I click on existing account and it says to import keys from 0.9.3 but I don't know how to upgrade to that wallet from 0.9.0. (Can't find the link to complete this middle step.)

I thought I saw post from a user with this exact issue but I can't find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm a little stressed out.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not very technical so all I can offer is the bts. Mark me down for 2500. Look forward to seeing the results.

Thank you very much Ken. I tried this last night and everything worked perfectly. My wallet has been upgraded to 0.9 version.

I have been following the forums very closely and I'm excited with the progress happening behind the scenes. Good look on you delegate position. I agree that marketing is the way forward because the devs seem to be the smartest in the business. Apparently VC's are starting to see this as well.

I tried to run the upgrades from the menu and it said that "there's no new updates." But now with the "not connected" issue I don't think that's even possible.

as a side note I switched internet providers in this time period but I don't think that would even be an issue.

As you can tell I'm not very good with the technical aspects.  I looked on the github updates from  Vikram and I"m not sure which link to click on for a Mac desktop.

Thank you very much for your help Xeroc. I'm sorry for the beginner issues.

Hello,

I have wallet 0.6.1 and haven't been able to update in over a month. I would like to transfer BTS from bter.com but am not able to. First it was hanging on block (about 207,000) and now my wallet is not connecting at all. I tried restoring my wallet from backup and I'm still getting the same issue.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I have the exact same problem. It's hanging at 15 days and 207,000 blocks.

Sorry I am not the best with computer issues. What download version should I use to update the wallet for a Mac computer?

The newest episode of Let's Talk Bitcoin interviews the CEO  of Vaultoro.com.

I think this is a great idea and the CEO seems like a smart, well backed individual but I can't help thinking that bitshares does this better and for a number of different assets.

Hopefully we can get this kind of facetime in the media when ready.

Technical Support / Baby Presents
« on: February 28, 2015, 05:51:00 pm »
I'm at the age where a lot of my friends are having babies. Since I studied finance in school, a lot of my friends are in this field.

Instead of giving them a stupid shirt or shoes that they will never use I thought it would be cool to give them a memory stick storing a prearranged funded wallet.

This would do two things. Give the baby a fun jumping off point for savings (I know it's different than the bonds you're Grandma gives you on your birthday as a kid) and 2. put bitshares on the radar for the parents who have an intimate knowledge of the financial world.Possibly get them involved.

However I think you can only have 1 wallet per computer. I'm not very technical but I don't see a way to do this?

Is it possible?

I found Bitshares 101 book while searching for Bitcoin material on Amazon.com. I read it twice and really like the way Max communicates his point on Bitshares.tv.

Thank you very much. I have read Bitshares 101 (2x). That's what got me started down this rabbit hole. I will check out the youtube videos and help sections. Also so I need to catch up on bytemasters blog.

I'm excited to be traveling down this road with a helpful community.

Thanks again,

Technical Support / I want to learn.....
« on: February 26, 2015, 07:30:33 pm »
Hello,

It's pretty funny but bitshares has completely taken over all of my free time. (To my wife's chagrin. hahaha) I started buying Bitshares on Bter and hope I can deposit them in my wallet soon. I've switched to btc38.com and learned my lesson on where to park them. In my REGISTERED WALLET.

I want to start learning all I can about short selling within the bitshares issued assets and starting created bitusd and other assets. I haven't been able to grasp how to do this and in turn help the volume/bitshares grow.

1. If you could please direct me to the best videos, posts, and any other links you know of that would be very much appreciated.

Also I enjoy the forums but sometimes it becomes too much of a back and forth and seems to take up a lot of time spent with little learning. I look forward to mumble sessions on Friday and Max Wright's videos. (very well done.)

2. Where do you guys go to learn of the goings on in the most efficient manner?

Thank you.

Awesome. Thank you very much delulo. I will try these suggestions. Unfortunately I have an older computer and am a bit impatient so the problem is probably on my end in this respect.
