Nah, I wrote the newbie guide around 9th of Jan - updated it right now to reflect the changes in the client since then.
Yesterday was about an advanced mining guide, still hoping for someone else volunteering to get paid for that, but when nothing happens in the next week or so I'll do it myself.

I had to start the installer three times
1st: strange, no idea what happened, it tried to install, quit, and opened the explorer with SYSWOW folder
2nd: now it gave me an option to remove the old installation
3rd: installed successfully

Criticism is okay, but it should be constructive.
What's your idea? Sell at these low prices and crash the market to be able to send some dollars to charities?
FreeTrade just proposed sending some to the charities which applied with an own address, and I agree with him that this would be the best thing to do at the moment.

When there's no charity accepting MMC directly you could consider buying gold at coaex (stalemate may accept a discount for that purpose) to keep the coins out of exchanges for a while.

The whole issue is overstated, and using the word "premine" (which has a negative connotation) is the main part of the problem.
Unlinke other premines, where devs start mining the coin before releasing it, the MemoryCoin "premine" was public. Everyone could participate in MemoryCoin v1
The page is not public because the MemoryCoin Foundation is a relict from that time, and it would confuse users if it would be on the main page.
