Title: OKCoin Gives Away $1.6M in Btc and Sees Around Half a Million New Users

$1.6 Million, got them half a million new users.

This is not about the news itself but about the example we could follow in the future. Have people earn some giveways by using or downloading the wallet. Of course we lack such funds at the moment, but it doesn't have to be that much and it doesn't have to be now. Later on in the future if all delegares joined hands in a project like this we could make a big move.

How many will remain users?

New users is a bit of a glamour metric....its how many users you retain which is important.

I see your point and I agree with that. Lots of user's probably just did it to have the free btc, but there is always people who turn clients. Not to mention it catches media attention so they still win by getting more exposure
