It looks like there was another wave of spam posts. I remember a discussion about how to handle them in the past, but have we figured out how to weed them out?

Arent accounts now manually approved? These spamming accounts where old sleeping accounts from 2015.

Correct. Im banning past 48 hours and removing topics from sleepers dating all between Feb and July 2015. We should maybe make a database export and permanently delete all accounts who haven't logged in last 365 days. Interesting enough to set the voting poll ?

Can you put accounts with 0 posts not logged in for a year on "must be reappeared" state? How many accounts like that are there?

I've done quick and single search with following parameters:
Account level: Newbie
Last online: <= 2017-01-01
Posts count: 0
Total 2550 Members.
Its just one search and list is horrible. We really need to cleanup forums if we wanna proper SEO and activity on them.

2550?! :o
That is a way bigger number than I thought it was going to be. Less spam waves of posts, better experience.

I'm sure total number is 10 times more since Newbie level is counting 35k users... Gonna do more detailed queries after Christmas.
btw, Merry Christmas and "XO XO XO" :D

Thanks for the head up. Just wanted to post the same, E.G. force inactive accounts to reactivate if they want to post again.
Merry Christmas!

Looks like a bot posted on nearly every sub forum. This has been an issue for a long time now.

Interestingly he had replied to this thread (and was banned later).

The spam bots are rampant within both the general and random discussion boards.
The spam in the random discussion boards looks like malware.
Are these boards no longer moderated?

looks like several of the sub-forums have been cleaned up of spam, reporting spammers seems to work well!
