there's no good reason to have any asset not open right now!

I think we shouldn't have too many markets open until there is more capital in the sytem - or the markets are too thinly traded. I would like to see bitSILVER though  ;D

 +5% We need to grow capital in the BTS system before we can offer these niche markets. It would be great to see bitSILVER actively traded, but we are just not there yet.

Are those two different things:
* an open market
* an actively traded asset
??

If someone wants to start trading an asset why should he be limited to 'open' markets?

It should be possible for someone to sell his real silver at a local store or online for BitSLV, then he can travel to a new home (far away) and re-buy his real silver with BitSLV. No converting to other currencies, or having to pay for shipping costs.

Yup the big thing is they dont have to worry about market manipulations that happen in the paper market. This market is decentralized and is as good as the volume dictates. That is.. sometimes the paper market doesnt follow the physical market price linearly.

I'm in favour of having BitSilver trading.

USD, CNY, Gold, Silver & BTC

I think BitSLV should be called BitSilver if it's not already. (Or BitSIL if it needs three letters.)
'SLV' & 'GLD' are synonymous with 'Paper' Silver & gold ours are fully collateralised and will survive & thrive in a SHTF scenario whereas as SLV & GLD will be in trouble.

Edit: Looks we're already calling it BitSILVER in the client - good

OIL would be nice to trade. $67 bitusd per barrel sounds like a steal.

China agrees. Strategic stockpiling for the win.
