I have the bitsharesx wallet(command line version) installed. I also have bitshares pts installed (gui) when the x client runs it tells me the wallet is closed and I am having trouble figuring out how to use it. I cant seem to find an
explanation of the commands and I assume I need to open an account. I only have one pts which I transferred to my wallet. Question is where to go from here and where is there a command guide of some kind. I would like a gui to
interact with it similar to the NXT wallet which I assume can be done....could I get some guidance? I am using opensuse if that matters any.

Here's a guide to building the wallet from source, including a section for the GUI:
https://github.com/dacsunlimited/bitsharesx/blob/master/BUILD_UBUNTU.md
In the command line wallet, the "help" command will list commands, and "help commandname" will give you help about a specific command.
Also there's documentation available here: https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/wiki/Bitshares-commands:-Wallet
Hope this helps...

Success!!
The opensuse build service has the needed wallets and it seems it is available for multiple archetectures. I was able to use my package manager to install it and it seems to run great. The individuals name is p_conrad and my thanks to him for the work. It makes getting the software going alot easier.
