Title: Exchange Latency?
Post by: Sage on December 27, 2013, 04:05:45 pm
Oh the possibilities of this decentralized exchange gives me goose bumps.

One problem I see though is latency.

If it's proof of work to validate the blockchain, that's going to a unavoidable significant latency?

Or am I wrong?

What kind of latencies can we expect?

And/or why could we not use a consensus algorithm instead, akin to what Ripple uses.... thus giving us 5-7 second latency?

You must have missed the memo, we are moving to proof-of-stake instead of proof-of-work.  No mining in BTS.
