Title: Where do I find all of the BitShares 2.0 detailed docs?
Post by: Thom on June 14, 2015, 02:06:13 am
Here and there I see snippets of things people post that indicate there are more details elsewhere (like this for example: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16794.msg214842.html#msg214842).

I've been reading the announcement pages (https://bitshares.org/blog/2015/06/08/announcing-bitshares-2.0/), and the bitshares.org website but can't find a more detailed source of information.

Where is it and why is it so difficult to find? Shouldn't there be a whitepaper? Shouldn't the "Learn more" links I see point to a repository of definitive (as of this moment) information?

Vikram mentioned that github was to be the new hosting service for BitShares, but the link given (https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares.github.io) in that post just pointed to a github repository, not a document site. That was confusing. Plus I've not seen any other references to github for BitShares 2.0 documentation. I expected to see something similar to this (http://bts-tools.readthedocs.org/en/latest/index.html) "Read the Docs" website, which can also be edited on github.

I also went over to the github repo for Crytonomex and have been looking around there, including the wiki. Glad I did, there's lots of wonderful details for techies, just not the detail docs I'm trying to find.

Can anyone point me to a website with nitty gritty details? Where did xeroc pull that graphic from?

My guess is xeroc (or cass) created it, he seems to have been in on the announcement details ahead of time as a sort of liaison for the community, hence all of the topics https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/board,91.0.html on the 2.0 board that appeared right after the announcement.

We're still working on documentation. More will come soon!

Graphics on new site (Cashflow,Multisignature, Icons etc.)  were created by me, yes!

Thanks BM. First thing I read was unsettling:

Once created, a worker is immutable and will be kept by the blockchain forever.

Why? At the very least, it should be based on the worker type, and worker types should include an enum value for workers funded to do a specific job and then cease to exist when the job is complete.

Either I'm missing something very basic or this is evidence that there hasn't been as much thought put into 2.0 as we were led to believe with statements like, "it will all be clear after the announcement on June 8th".

BM, there are many here that want to believe in your promises but it is becoming increasingly difficult.

Still hanging in there, but my grip is getting weak  :-\

I may be misunderstanding, but I'm not sure BM is asserting anything more than the notion that a blockchain keeps an immutable history forever.

A worker is just a proposed funding period.  There is no way to update the workers properties just like there isn't a way to reduce delegate pay.  It doesn't mean the worker gets paid for ever.

@cass
Have you created more flowcharts like this one (http://i.imgur.com/W4rfxB5.png) regrading the BitShares 2.0 ecosystem?
If so - where can I find them?
