Title: BitShares Publkey Keys (advanced) - Question
Post by: xeroc on August 22, 2014, 02:50:07 pm
Hey there,
I guess that the following question can only be answered by the devs. I will give it a shot:

Assume I have a bitcoin address (and the pubkey) and NOT the corresponding private key for that pubkey(address).
But I'd like to register a name for the guys who owns that private key. So I need a way to figure out the BitShares Public Key from the Bitcoin Public Key.
How can I achieve that?

I may be missing something, but won't the Genesis block tool basically give you that?

Which one are you talking about?

The one in the bitshares toolkit. I'm not at my computer right now and can't check, but I'd think it would need to do that in order to convert Bitcoin AGS donations into a genesis block allocation.
