Title: [Witness Proposal] - 1.6.49 - datasecuritynode - The Nuclear Option.
Post by: BunkerChainLabs-DataSecurityNode on October 16, 2015, 09:09:57 am
Please vote for 1.6.49 - datasecuritynode

As most of you know, we previously ran approximately 10% of the entire Bitshares 1.0 delegate space.

We held some of the best up-time of all delegates, and were always among the first to implement updates and feeds.

We rallied to try and keep other delegates accountable to the network, and are heavily invested in bitshares.

We were briefly involved during the testnet to discover one reportable bug.

At precisely 9am EST on October 13th we shutdown all 0.9.x delegates we controlled or managed.

Our witness will provide a unique feature, a nuclear bunker data center infrastructure.

This means no matter what man made or natural disaster that might impact parts of the world if not most (solar flare knocking out entire continents of data storage for example).. the bitshares network will continue to survive inside our 64,000 sq/ft bunker.

We are going to ensure that we provide resources as needed to make sure the bitshares network and witness resources are robust, and snappy.

Please vote for 1.6.49 - datasecuritynode

Thank You for your support!

WOO HOO

Thanks everyone!

DataSecurityNode is Witness to BitShares 2.0!

Sorry I missed some blocks initially due to a minor configuration error. All good now!

DataSecurityNode is now running with the latest 2.0.160216 release.

I recently gave this release the name 'Chamelean' because it's biggest feature is the new Privacy Mode.

I created a meme to help promote this release since it is an important feature that can attract new users.

We still maintain the TOP 5 highest availability of all witnesses.

If you like to continue to know that your Bitshares is nuclear bunker protected, be sure to vote for datasecuritynode witness today.

Updates from DataSecurityNode Witness

I wrote an article about Bitshares DPOS and our witness helping protect Bitshares against cosmic threats in response to a Bitcoin article:

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/bitshares-blockchain-elects-nuclear-bunker-protect-against-baha-i

This in turn got the attention of The Daily Decrypt that lead to an interview getting Bitshares even more coverage:

https://youtu.be/qJFOeW7zNsE

Then we announced the introduction of Blockchain Bunker:

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,21967.0.html

ALL of this is as a result of our Witness being voted Active.

We have gotten the support of many proxies,  but it seems other proxies do not know about all the value, stability, and reliability we are bringing to Bitshares.

Make sure if you are pointing your votes to a proxy that your proxy supports DataSecurityNode Witness. If they don't, ask them why not?!

Other reasons this witness is voteworthy:

- Backed an entire data center, not just inside someone elses
- Backed by a real corporate entity with accountability
- Has among the highest uptime availability of all witnesses
- Has the fastest response time to all emergencies that have happened with the Bitshares blockchain
- Trusted and active participant in this forum
- Continually welcoming new users in both telegram and slack and helping answer questions

Finally to wrap up this update, we are fully upgraded and ready for the upcoming fork on March 23rd.

Thanks to all our supporters! With your votes, you helped make all of the above happen!

The best is yet to come, and you can play your part in it by voting for DataSecuritynode Witness!

Witness Update #2 - Link for witness updated

It is important to know who your witnesses and demand accountability from them. They are after all keeping your Bitshares safe.

Part of having a witness includes a field where you can specify a URL so that people can see who you are.

We have it pointing to http://witness.datasecuritynode.com that was setup as a redirect to this forum.

Sadly I was attempting to redirect to this thread but could not get the 301 to work due to the comma in the address (special characters like that mess up 301s often). So instead it only pointed to my forum profile page. Not super helpful, but at least I was letting people know who the account acting as a witness to Bitshares was associated with.

Today however thanks to google I found that using a ? operator with this forum can work to point to this thread, so no more comma. This means I was able to fix the redirect URL to come to this thread to make it easier for people to get updates and see what is happening with this witness.

Not a big update.. but for transparency I thought it important to inform of the change to the account information.

Try use an escape code or something?

//Update: seems you've fixed it.

I made several attempts to get it to work but nothing did. Doesn't matter now anyways.. it's working with the ? operator in the URL. :)

Thank You For Supporting DataSecurityNode! - Bitshares now has Nuclear Bunker Protection!

Since telegram isn't the best place to reach everyone I decided to resurrect this old threat for our witness DataSecurityNode since we have recently been voted back in as active.

I thought it a good idea to give an update on our current running configuration.

Our witness operates within a cluster environment we have created which still operates from the same nuclear bunker. The particular cluster for the Bitshares nodes utilizes 5 servers configured each with 20 Intel cores, 512GB RAM, and a combination of NVM and SSD storage with 6TB of capacity. The storage cluster provides redundancy and performance and another backup storage server provides additional backup.

We have a secondary location in Montreal, Quebec where we have a similar configuration in case we have an issue at the bunker location that may cause extended downtime.

Between these two locations we are currently operating 2 witness nodes, 1 seed node, and 1 API which is publicly available though we are still tweaking its configuration. We will be joining the testnet network this month pending approvals.

The bunker has gone through a number of upgrades through out the years including a more robust backup power grid, and dual fiber trunks with diversified transit and transport providers. Most of our missed blocks from the past was due to these infrastructure issues that we were still in the process of updating. Since updating though we have been running great! We now have more onsite staff who work every day to continue to improve and maintain network server operations.

Besides our node operations, some of you may know that we are working on other graphene elements which we would like to introduce as a BSIP rather soon that will provide blockchain interoperability for Bitshares.

If you like the idea of Bitshares having the support of a nuclear bunker data center to give the blockchain extra hardened security, then a vote for DataSecurityNode provides that!

Thank you for your support!

Due to the high frequency changes I have now had to start subscribing to Fixer API in order to provide a more diverse source of pricefeed data.

So this means we are paying for 3 price feed sources now.
